Into the ground is easy - just build this design underground. For multiple floors, there are many ways to do it, mostly difficult if u want to do it right.
Pretty cool mechanism dude! By the way, is there any way to make this with multiple floors? If so, is there a way to make the elevator go to straight to any floor you want instead of going floor by floor?
yes and yes, just make a hole big enough to fit the number of floors you want if you want to be pretty dig two blocks down at any external part of the hole in the floor you want, from there dig 4 blocks to the oposit direction of the elevator and starting from the last block put a signal receiver and whatever you want to put as the frequence, the lever in the video witch i forgot the name and put a slime piston with some random block, now where you put the rope thing put a little bit of redstone and another receiver of the same frequency in a line with the other and voalla when you press the button of the floor you wanna go the piston will activate and stop the elevator from going deeper, the only thing that i couldnt figure out was a way to make the elevator go down after you stop on that floor
Lol I discovered this without this video all it took was for me to find the rope pulley and I made a 20x20 elevator with different floors. Honey and slime help this mod alot.

Have you done an elevator for multiple floors yet? I had a heck of time trying to build one for my 4 floors at levels 12, 42, 64, and 120. Had to use redstone connectors so that they would be live during motion (a redstone block or torch won't activate anything while it's moving), AND gates to determine if the platform was above or below the current floor, and a bit of careful timing to have a clutch stop it correctly. The circuitry takes up a pretty large room, and the speed is limited to about 100-110. I'd like to see if there are any optimizations I could make.
Nice design, I like the simplicity! Do you think there's any way to make it stop on a particular floor, and to select which floor you want to stop on? I've been at this for a while but I think I'm overcomplicating it too much and making it a headache for myself, lol.
yes there are a ton of ways to do it, but can get complicated. if its 1 extra stop, you just need controls from both top and bottom with resets. anything beyond that gets crazy.
This is good and all, but what if I want my elevator to look more like a modern elevator? Is it possible to do something like this but with Extendable Pistons?

The button doesn't seem to send it all the way up or down, it has to be pressed repeatedly. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? It's only working with a lever from the top, and the bottom is way top far to work that way.
my bottom redstone link is not working its very deep in a mine could that be an issue? I followed this guide step by step but it just does not send the elevator up. Could 1.18 be the issue as well?

You can have arbitrary buildings attached to minecarts which can build and collect rails automatically, even at an angle. So, an airship using that mechanic would totally work and would be steerable.
I know this is an old vid, but for some reason the elevator platform blocks turn invisible with every use. my redstone link doesnt work on the last floor i need help
can I use a different block as the platform or does it only work with Linear Chasis?
The chassis connect the platform together as a single entity. You can make it look better by putting blocks on top of sticky chassis.
@@monkeyfarm will carpets break if I put them on the platform with slime? I was trying to make a house where the whole floor comes down like a platform to an underground base. But I'm thinking of just a carpet instead
