"The Internationale" is a left-wing anthem that has been translated into numerous languages and is widely recognized as the anthem of the socialist movement. The song was originally written in French in 1871 by the Belgian socialist Eugene Pottier, and was set to music by the French composer Pierre De Geyter. It quickly became popular among socialist and labor organizations, and was adopted by the international socialist movement as its official anthem in 1910. Today, it is still used as a rallying cry by labor unions, socialist parties, and other left-wing organizations around the world.

I don't get it... this uses the Billy Bragg lyrics and it seems to be in stereo, not mono. Seems to be modified to make it sound like older audio.
Although I do love to modify audio to restore it or make it sound older, I haven't done the same for this one. I found it on archive.org if you're interested

It does seem to be modified. He likely took it from a video of a choir singing this from 2016, sped it up, and added a static filter to it. The pitch and the choir voice sounds very similar to the video. It’s on youtube if your wondering

I cant exactly remember how I found it but what I do remember is I found it on archive.org while looking for a version of Katyusha, the thumbnail of this particular version of the Internationale had a few red flags hanging in different angles if that helps haha

Actually, these are updated lyrics for our time. Bragg discussed the project with Pete Seegar, who agreed that a version better suited to the modern age was needed. There are several different versions of the Internationale that have been floating around since the original poem was composed after the fall of the Paris Commune.

This was written with the Paris Commune in mind, not a totalitarian country, promising socialism in x years, whilst further degenerating until capitalism regains power.
France has had a history with the left,so it makes sense.
Another note is Lenin did not see the Russian revolution as a true communist revolution,as it came from above.

This is the essence of communism - to build a tyranny in which only the "chosen ones" will live happily. I say this as a Russian, whose great-grandfather was sent to a concentration camp for criticizing the party, where he died.
