The Communist International (Comintern), was dissolved by Stalin in 1943 to avoid antagonizing the US and UK in the later years of World War II. As the Internationale is the anthem of Comintern, it just stopped singing. Today, the Chinese version of the Internationale is sung during important government meetings in China as a motivational song to overcome difficulties.

The Chinese analogue (国际) is only two syllables long; the French original (l'Internationale) is six.

The lyrics are very similar to the USSR'S variety of the Internationale, might it be because of the shared border's? Or was it due to influence in the areas before the Sino-Soviet split?
Most Internationale take Russian as base language for translation, this can be seen with American English, Ukrainian, Byelorussian, Chinese, etc

It's because its the same song. All classic versions of the internationale are "somewhat similar". They're translations of the same song.
@@Person01234no, not really, have you heard Billy Bragg's version, and the 1900's American English version, hell the original English version was quite different, the one from the Soviet Union was changed significantly compared to the French version as to go more smoothly for the Russian language, not all of them are directly similar.
@@comrade3537 "classic versions". Billy bragg's version is some revisionist shit for moderate modern liberals. It's different because it completely guts the feeling of the song.
Maybe we just have different ideas on what we mean by different. I don't expect the words to be exactly the same 1:1 meaning but as far as I can tell from looking at translations, most classic versions try to stay true to the original geenral meanings of each verse of the song. The more modern they get the more they lose that. That's my take anyway.
