  • Author and actress Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek, Orange is the New Black) takes part in an extraordinary First Thought Talk as part of Galway International Arts Festival 2019.
She discusses her new book, 'How to Forget: A Daughter's Memoir' which traces the story of her return to her hometown in Iowa to spend time with and care for her parents when her father was diagnosed with aggressive lung cancer and her mother with atypical Alzheimer’s. Her profoundly honest memoir How to Forget takes us on an unexpected journey of loss, betrayal, and the transcendent nature of a daughter’s love for her parents. She is joined in conversation by Eithne Verling, Director, Galway City Museum.
