Hope you're having a great weekend? I got asked by a few of you guys how I sew button holes on my domestic and I thought it'll be useful to someone to make this tutorial showing how to do so if you have a similar machine.
I am a 67 left handed sewer and not a confident machine user but your video was so easy to follow that I immediately successfully made two button holes using my brother machine, subscribed to your videos now. Thank you xx
SO HELPFUL! I got a new Brother Machine for Christmas and I've been actively avoiding using the buttonhole footer feature (even though my current project requires me to use it), but this has made it so easy! Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this it has helped me a lot as I haven’t sewn for ages. My only suggestion is to say that you have to lift up the needle when going from a-d to prevent needles breaking. Thank you so much 😊 I love your videos they help me so much
Up until today I've handstitched my button holes. I read so many tutorials and watched videos and still couldn't figure out how to make button holes on my machine. This video made it seem so easy I kinda feel silly that I couldn't figure it out before.
Wow hand stitched. That must have taken some time to do. It took me a while to figure out how to use the foot myself but I'm glad I did so I can share the steps with you
Thank you for posting. Your video is for a true beginner like me. Unlike all the other videos I've watched. I've never sewn a button hole in my life. I have the same machine and I can follow step by step. You made it really easy for me.
Thanks for the tutorial. Now I know how to use this footer that I had so many years and I never knew what it's for until I decided to add buttons. I had a feeling my sewing machine had the function to make button holes but never bothered with it. Thank you.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I have the same machine at home and it's my mums! I've never made a shirt before but I have managed to make a shirt except the button holes - and now I can finish my shirt, thank you 😊
Thank you Tim Dave that was the perfect way to describe how to make a buttonhole with a machine I've had my machine for 7 years and I never knew what that big plastic thing was you have a wonderful day
THANK YOU I LOVE YOU !!!!! i have been looking everywhere for help with this and you explained it all perfectly !! thank you so much i wish you health and happiness forever and ever :)
Very nicely done video. I do wonder if we should LIFT the needle all the way up, before switching from A to B to C to D? . I do have the same Brother machine, so this was excellent. Thanks again it was quick & painless to watch.👍
Thankyou great tutorial! Ive been so scared to try but had a go using your video with knit fabric and it worked so now to make some cute knot overalls for my little girl
Thank you Kim, Your video was the first I came across to learn how to make a buttonholes and the only one I needed. Straight forward and easy to understand instructions 👏👍⭐️⭐️💐
Kim rocks....👌😍😘❤💋😍..i have always had problems with making buttonholes, using this very model of brother machine, even though,i have a brother GS3700,which,i really find very easy to use,a friend wanted me to show her how to use it,but,i felt intimidated, thank you for this tutorial....lots of lovee....😍😘.
Oh really, good thing I did this tutorial. Was almost not going to do it because I thought no one would benefit from it but I'm happy this tutorial will be of use to you.
Kim, thanks for this tutorial!! I’m going to try this soon! Does your machine automatically stop sewing at the end point of the stitches, or are you just watching and stopping the stitching? Thanks!!
Thanks for the tutorial! I keep running into an issue, maybe it’s just because I’m using knit (I have all the right needles and the tension SEEMS to be good) as soon as I get to “d” it gets stuck or doesn’t want to thread. I know the tension is probably correct because if I move it any higher or lower at all then the whole thing messes up. Any tips to help me with this?
Hi Kim! Every time I do this, the bobbin at the bottom of the machine just bundles up and gets caught and it looks great but when I try to pull it away it’s a mess underneath! What should I do!

hmm not sure why it isn't sewing correctly at 'd' for you. Maybe using the right needle might help. Also is it a thick or thin knit fabric?
Thanks 🙏🏽
At least I learnt something
Thank you so much for this video, I never knew how to use that foot .
Me neither. Took me a while to figure it out
Very very thanks you ! 👏🙏🌷

I do have a question I do hope you see this message what brand in style number walking foot do you use for your style sewing machine????
Take a shot every time button hole or button is said also this was really helpful. X
Hi Kim I have s brother lx3817 will this button foot work, please help, I don’t have one with this machine
What thread tension number do u use?
Pls i wish to know if u oil this machine manually?
1cm seems a bit much, if I have a 1cm button wont it just slip out? Would 1/3 be a better description?
Looks a lot easier than on my machine. I only have to manually change the direction
Thankyou!
this machine very good👍👍👍
It's a great machine, love mine so much 😊
Kim Dave
Mee too and singer very very Elegant👍👍😍😚😘
