Those are great ideas for the advent boxes. My favorite color is purple and I love all the fiber but I use cotton, cotton bamboo the most. The yarn from Angela was so pretty and I love the stitch markers. Have a great day.
Occasionally, I treat myself to some really special yarn, and I am happy that Angela had some of her cotton yarn left when I emailed her... I'm so happy that you enjoyed the ideas for the advent boxes. Thank you for letting me know. :-)
Hello Cathy, the color of your new hand-dyed cotton is just gorgeous, congrats. My favorite color is turquoise and I like knitting with merino wool in the winter and cotton in the summer.
I also really love turquoise! And recently I discovered cotton blended with acrylic, which I will try using for a few early winter items. I really do hope that it works. :-)
My favourite colour is purple, and I like wool and acrylic. Thank you for the home made advent ideas. The ones available for purchase can be so expensive....worth the money I am sure, but out of my budget.😊
You are so right, it is nice to have options for home made, to tailor an advent to specific yarns (I cannot work with wool), or to a specific budget (I can find yarns I use for my donations when it is on sale, so I know it is yarn I will use). (I am excited to see that there is a pre-made advent for non wool, and might save toward that one for 2025... It's on my "Santa List", for sure! LOL) Wanting something without wool in it (and budget) are the two reasons that I started thinking about/considered home made advents. And I always look forward to watching everyone who purchased the wool advents open them... Cannot work with wool, but I really do love looking at each new mini on everyones' videos during December.
Hi Cathy, Love the advent idea. My favorite color is Peach, But I really love all colors. My favorite fiber would have to be Superwash Merino, But I like any... Angela is such A great, kind caring person, And I just Love her Patterns....
You are so right, that Angela is very kind, caring and multi-talented! ooopsie, I forgot to talk about her patterns and tutorials.... Thank you for mentioning them.
Hi Cathy. My favorite color is purple and different shades of this color. But I love cream, black too. Fiber - really depends on what I will make and who will get this project ❤ so I kind of open and explore different fibers and cottons. Thank you for beautiful podcast and wishing you quieter days ❤
Hi Cathy Great idea for an advent calendar My favorite color is blue or anything in the blue family and my favorite fiber is cotton Really enjoying this Christmas in July series
That definitely looks like cotton candy! I like a nice plum-y purple color, but also pretty much any color that reminds me of fall or sunsets😊 I love how soft alpaca is, but it’s a little too drapey so probably wool with just a bit of alpaca would be my favorite fiber. Thank for the fun episode!
Hi Cathy!! I love the yarn you received from Diane! I bet it works up beautifully! Thanks for reminding me to send a letter to someone on my mind. It seems life is always so busy. My favorite color is plum or dk purple. My favorite type of yarn is acrylic or cotton blend because that is what I use the most. But I like sock yarns and fancier yarns as well!! So sweet of Angela to send the coffee and stitch markers with your cotton yarn!! Shades of cotton candy definitely reminds you of summer and all the summer enjoyment!!
I am happy that there was still some of Angela's yarn available when I contacted her. It was a nice surprise to find that there were a few extra treats in the package with the yarn (I did not realize that those would be there).
Your advent ideas are great! And, a box from Cambridge would make a wonderful birthday gift to yourself. Wool is my favourite fibre! I’ve just started to collect over the past year or so.
I'm very happy that you enjoyed the advent ideas. Last year, I thoroughly enjoyed the Cambridge advent box and look forward to the birthday box this year.
At one time, I wasn't working with cotton blends (gave the ones that I had to a friend). And I find this year that I am using cotton blends more and more!
lovely video again, thankyou - I hope the noise issues cease before too long - noise is such a common social disturbance especially nowadays - big thoughts there. My favourite colour is PINK and my favourite yarn is...emmm... ACRYLIC
I am hoping the construction will be finished in 2 or 3 more weeks. Although we are in a city, we are quite lucky, as it usually is a lot quieter around here.
Hi Cathy! My Favorite color is green. I really like the Berroco Summer Sesame yarn in your video. My favorite fiber is acrylic/wool. It also depends what I am making and for who or what charity. Thank you for making Christmas in July Fun!🤗🧶🎄
Hi Susan! I am really grateful for the Summer Sesame yarn from Diane. It really is soft and I think it will be a joy to work with. Thank you so much for the kind comment. :-)
Hi Cathy. Oh, I don't envy you with all that noise, I hope they are done soon. My favorite color is blue or teal and my favorite fiber is acrylic or wool, as long as it's soft.
Hi Debbie! Thank you so much... I am hoping that the noise won't be for too too much longer. Maybe 3 more weeks? Although it is very uncomfortable this summer, on the positive side, it is good that they are maintaining the building's exterior.
Great ideas. By the way, Angela from my precious yarnery sent me over. I was forced to sell my country home and move in with my daughter in the city . TH-cam has some awesome music podcasts with birds that are wonderful for using with my Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones.❤
I also follow Angela and watch all of her videos! Warm welcome, and so happy you are here. The music podcasts you mention is a great idea -- and would remind me of when I used to live in the country.
That is a great idea to make your own advent. I am going to make a cardigan using dk balls of yarn and wrapping them up with the numbers on it.my favourite colour is purple and my favourite fibre is all.
Hi Cathy! I’m actually a huge fan of wool. I’m one of the lucky ones that doesn’t get itchy or have any other adverse reaction to it. I do love all fibres though. Favourite colour? Again, love them all but I’d say greens of all kinds are what I gravitate to in a wool shop. Very pretty yarn from Angela❤Hope you get some peace and quiet soon!
There is a bit of peace on Sundays, as they are usually working 6 day weeks... so that is very nice. I am so grateful that Angela still had one package of the yarn left when I emailed her. (It was in limited quantity.) Every once in a while I splurge and get something really special. And I feel really good about this purchase, for sure.
Purple and green are my favorite colours. At the moment I don't have a favorite fiber. It really depends on what I am making and who I am crafting for.
Hi Cathy, I know what you mean about the noise. We lived in an apartment for years and the summer was the worst. My favourite fibre is rustic 100% wool. I can’t wear it that much but I enjoy knitting with it and I spin as well.😊
I hadn't heard of a birthday advent before. My favourite colour is purple though I don't use it much. So far I think I just prefer any fibre that is nice to work with.
I was really happy to hear about Birthday advents (and probably one could be made for other celebrations too, like graduations?). Very nice that they can be made different sizes too, to suit # of days or budget.
Hi Cathy! My fave colour is green. My fave fibre is superwash merino. I bought the Aberdeen's Wool advent last year, and loved it. I was going to make my own this year but then I heard about Heather's health challenges and how her sheep were in jeopardy, so I bought another one. Love the advent ideas!
I really do wish that I could use wool, as I would have bought an Aberdeen's advent in a heartbeat. (Instead, I got some of her mystery bags so I could support that way. Usually the mystery bags have some acrylic or cotton that I can use and some wool that I can share with friends.)
Cathy I have not decided on my favorite fiber. I enjoy wool, soft acrylic, some cotton, preferably cotton blends. There are still many fibers that I have not tried yet. The stitch markers are wonderful. Loved the berroco yarn. The colors are gorgeous. Angela's yarn is bright and beautiful. Hope the construction noise ceases soon. Not fun for anyone.
Sorry to hear you are living in a construction zone - that is always challenging. I find lots of noise to be quite draining. Hopefully they get the job done quickly and you can be in a serene environment again. What cute little stitch markers from Angela. Love the Berroco Sesame and the cotton silk is gorgeous as well. My favourite colour changes all the time but blue or purple is usually my first choice. I don't have a favourite fibre because it all depends on what I am going to make.
Hi Carol! If all goes well, maybe it'll only be another 2-3 weeks of construction? You are so right that the noise is exhausting and makes it difficult to concentrate. (I am on-the-search for something for my special stitch markers... the ones that remind me of my friends, that I want to display & look at.)
Hi Cathy! My favorite color is teal, and my favorite fibre is wool, specifically sock yarn. For an advent this year, I am going to try to find someone to swap scrap balls with me, either acrylic or sock yarn, and work on a scrappy project during the month.
That must be hard to listen to the noise of construction all day. I too am sensitive to loud sounds. When it comes to wool it’s all great . Enjoy your weekend😊
Thank you for your kind comment! You are right, it has been difficult, some days have more drilling than other days. When they move the scaffolding any closer (next phase), I will pack my lunch and skedaddle to the library or the shopping mall for the day. LOL
Hi Cathy! Today my favorite color is that cotton silk yarn you just added to your giveaway. lol 😂 teal? so pretty! I can see that adding a wonderful pop of color to a crochet basket. Have you watched the basket tutorial by pretty peaceful’s channel? I think her name is Susan. She holds 7 strands together! But the unique thing is she combines different fibers and weights. Her baskets are gorgeous.
Until now, I hadn't heard of pretty peaceful's channel. Those crochet baskets are really beautiful and I wish I could make one! (On a really brave day, maybe I will try. LOL) Crocheting that many strands at the same time might challenge my thumb -- small thing, big aggravation LOL. Short version of the story -- an old "bowling game injury on my thumb". Thankfully, it only bothers me when I try to make things without much stretch, or in cold damp weather.
@@YarnWithHeart oh dear! yeah, id stay away from baskets. I don't think the process would give you joy. Glad to know it's a manageable condition for you. ❤
Hi! Sorry about the construction noise. Hopefully they'll be done soon with the work. My favourite colour is purple (any shade will do) and I love working with Superwash merino wool in fingering weight. Thank you!
This week has been much quieter as they cannot work when it's rain. Not ideal for them, as I'm sure they would like to get the jobs done. However it has been nice on the ears these past few days.
I am this year going to crest my own advant for Christmas, I can’t afford most that are out there so my hunny is going to be the one picking things out for me and wrapping it so I don’t know what the little gifts will be . I lived in an apartment last year in the top floor and worked nights , well at 7 am in the morning they would start working on the roof and ohh it was so hard to sleep . I love mostly all yarn even wool
What a lovely plan for an advent from your sweet hunny! The noise during the day is very difficult in apartments. People don't realize how the sound carries through the walls around the building... My heart goes out to anyone trying to sleep during the day -- it would be almost impossible!
Hi Kathy! Dealing with the construction sounds awful. My birthday is close to christmas too, 19th. Thanks for the ideas for creating your own advent. My favorite color is sea foam green or teal. I really enjoy working with cotton mixes, but recently felt some mulberry silk. It was ridiculously soft. I haven't had a chance to work with it yet. What will you make work the yarn you got from Angela?
Hi Sarah! I previously bought few stitch markers and a Summer Fun shawl pattern from Angela. Maybe I will make her pattern. Someday I would love to try some mulberry silk... it sounds amazing!
Those are great ideas for the advent boxes. My favorite color is purple and I love all the fiber but I use cotton, cotton bamboo the most. The yarn from Angela was so pretty and I love the stitch markers. Have a great day.

So happy you like your cotton yarn ❤❤❤
Hi Angela! I love this cotton yarn so much. And thank you for the cute stitch markers... You know me & your stitch markers. LOL
The yarns are so pretty. My favorite color is the deep dark purple.
Thank you so much for your comment. :-)
Great ideas for advents. Love your planning. My favorite color is red and my favorite fiber is wool.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. (Part 2... more about advents will be in the July 15th video.)
The yarns are pretty. My favorite color is deep, dark purple.
Thank you very much for your comment. :-)
My favorite colors is purple and blue and my favorite fiber is cotton and acrylic have a wonderful day
I hope you have a wonderful day too! (I love how blue and some shades of purple can look together in a project.)
Hello Cathy, the color of your new hand-dyed cotton is just gorgeous, congrats. My favorite color is turquoise and I like knitting with merino wool in the winter and cotton in the summer.

My favorite color is blue and wool!

Your new yarns are lovely. My favourite fibre blend is Merino Cashmere Nylon - for cozy socks or a scrumptious cowl.
Thank you so much Sandi! I am very grateful that Angela is now hand-dying cotton. And I am very grateful for the Christmas cotton yarn from Diane.
