Drag Icon Sasha Colby Performs During Intro for JLo at iHeart Music Awards

- #breaking : JLo Got the most fabulous and grandest introduction and opening last night at the iHeart Music Awards fit for an LGBTQ+ idol! The introduction included 12 drag queens including Hawaii’s very own, Sasha Colby who Gay Island Guide has had the pleasure of hosting several times for events and performances including at Scarlet Honolulu.
Each queen presented some of the icons most memorable looks and it was nothing short of stunning. After the fashion show style intro JLo appeared high above with a banner that read “equality” and could not be missed. That goes without saying that it was an important message today as Republicans across many states, like Florida have been attacking the LGBTQ community and their equal rights.

She won an award for gay rights activism. She's done a lot actually, haha.
@@joho3799 - She hadn't done anything for the community, except AFTER gay & trans rights advocacy became cool and profitable. In her entire 31 yr career, she has only RECENTLY started getting involved - but no REAL activism.
Her so-called involvement includes a producer credit on the show "The Fosters", a letter to the LGBTQ+ community, and allowing a gay teen (who was banned from grad speech) to come backstage to one of her concerts. But she hasn't really done anything to actually improve the lives of LGBTQ+ community.
I'm a fan of JLo, but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that she's something she's not. Beyonce is doing the same thing with her new album - riding the coattails of LGBTQ+ bc it's trendy to be an ally. But it's all a veneer, a money grab at social clout where the currency is the attention and approval of younger generation of consumers.
Since Gen Z happen to hold progressive values in high regard, and since these old veteran celebs need to keep up with the times if they still wanna sell albums, then you're gonna see more smoke & mirrors with them cosplaying as "social justice advocates". It's annoying, bc they're not willing to put in the actual work, but they'll put a few gay icons and drag stars in their songs, videos, and shows (including runways, looking at you Rihanna). So yeah, I'm not buying it. Not one bit. Fun to watch, but I see right through their facade.

#FACTS She is a dancer that can somewhat sing. I hope she takes voice lessons to improve and not just relies on autotune, a good teacher can make you sing on key, even belt like the greatest out there Arethra, Whitney, Patti La Belle, Jennifer Holiday, etc but it requires practice and dedication.
