I've been driving old Volvos for decades. I just never have driven anything else. Finally, my Volvos are SO old that they have both developed very spooky electrical gremlins simply because after 30 years or more, the wiring has just broken down. Finally, in desperate need of transportation, I bought a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. WOW! WHAT A REVELATION! I love love love this car. But after just a few weeks, the weather here has turned very cold and my blower motor stopped working. I've had fantastic heat up until just this morning. I can't thank you enough to putting this video up and helping me sort out probs with a car that I am so far, totally unfamiliar with. I'm beginning to believe that Volvo isn't the only company that can build a fine car.
Knowledgeable, speaking clearly, no verbal pauses, these are all qualities I like in a presentation. Your video was very helpful and I will click Like, Subscribe and ring the Bell. Thank you. I will edit my post after I check out my 2011 CVPI Blower motor issue.
Omg. Thank you. So many videos explaining how to replace or repair the EATC but finally I found this one. Kept me from having to buy a service manual and trace all this out. Wish other folks would look at car issues from this point of view. By understanding how the entire circuit or component in question operates, the issue can be found without having to swap parts and/or guess. Also saves from having to watch a million videos about how to replace one particular component in a system because it happened to fix the issue in THEIR car.....not yours .... Thank you again sir!
thanks for the vid, mine just stopped today, i'll have to do some trouble shooting this weekend, it couldn't have went out at a better time, the weather is starting cool off, i don't need a/c right now
My blower motor on the cvpi just stop working, today in the freezing cold and your video acted as a guide for a replacement . TY Now if you can tell me why my floor/mix/defroster switch won't work; air only comes out of the ac ducts, and the switch is new.
Nice to the point. Unfortunately to I now know it's not my blower motor. I'm pretty sure I gotta rebuild the temp control head unit. As I've got power to the blower motor. Blower Motor is new. But this helped me on my journey so thanks for your time saving my time👍👍
My blower motor 09 crown vic just shut off, watched your vid help job clearly, so i just ran motor to on/off switch for now, gotta have ac working must have, thanks!!
Nice to see a person using a diagram as opposed to other videos of mechanics who don't use diagrams I'm trying to figure out what the color of pins are for
Rockin’ the F1 Chrono! You’re a braver man than I !!! 😆 My 3 register Monaco goes in the drawer whenever I’m wrenching on the P.I. or any of my other junkers!
Hey brother, just wanted to let you know that I was able to get my AC running here at work using your tips on the blower motor relay check in the engine bay. Thank you thank you thank you.
Great video. Still need some help. I replaced the blower motor in my 2004 Grand Marquis and had the shop replace the resistor. Air worked for a week then stopped. The shop replaced the resistor again but it did not work this time. They then directed me to take my car to the dealer. What else could be the issue? Only thing I can think of is the EATC but that is a very expensive part to try. I ran the diagnostic and it came up 888 indicating no issues. Any suggestions?
Mine will only come on if i start with defrost or floor and after a few minutes i switch it quickly to Max AC, sometimes it takes a few times but eventually it clicks over to AC and everything is fine. What part is about to go out on my car? Same car as yours
I got power at the blower motor connector but no ground...i put power to the blower motor and it ran...I tried another climate control switch and the blower motor is still inop....I tried swapping relays also checked the fuse both are ok...Im gonna try the resister next...any advice?
I keep blowing the 40 amp J case fuse and can’t figure it out. I’ve replaced the blower motor and resistor, the connectors are all fine and intact. But as soon as I send power hit the power to turn on the blower motor it pops the Jcase instantly. I’m stumped. I’m guessing there’s a short somewhere at this point
I have an 07 CVPI and low 1 and low 2 don't seem to be working. Settings 3 and 4 work just fine tho. Not a big deal, but might be an easy fix? Thank you in advance, enjoy these videos.
Quick question bro, I own a 03 marauder nd idk what it's been done to it but the ac control unit does not have power at all. Relays and fuse good. So change to a new unit
Like a big dummy, I forgot my 2006 Ford 500; limited was running in my driveway, for almost 9 hours. Afterwards, now my heater fan/blower is not working. Could it be the relay thing under the dash on the passenger side? Thanks for any suggestions. John
Hey man... I’m having a little issue with this circuit. When the key is off, everything is fine. When the key is on, the blower motor instantly comes on even though the EATC is off. On top of this, after turning the EATC on, the motor doesn’t respond to any speed input. Do you think the BCM (blower control module, or in non EATC cars it’s called the blower motor resistor) is bad? Side note, this all happened after I replaced the AC accumulator switch but I bet that’s unrelated.
I have crown vic 99 i am facing problem with blower when i run my blower to high speed the fuse blowes away and ac blower stops working I have taken it to many mechanics even i hv change my blower and fan but still the same problem Please can you enlighten me with your knowlege on this issue
Mine is blowing but it's not blowing near as hard as it should be.. Checked fuses under dash and we're fine. But it seems like something is half way bad
In preparing to make one of my videos I typically remove and install the Relay a few times which loosens it up. I have found that many Relays in older cars can be quite challenging to remove if they have not been disturbed in awhile. It can be helpful to wiggle the Relay back and forth while pulling it out. Best of luck to you!

Corrosion on the clip going into the blower motor solved it! THANKYOU IT'S ALMOST 100 DEGREES TODAY AND I WAS MELTING!!!!! 🙏

Thank you. Great explanation of everything. You just saved me some money.

Thanks man! You helped me cut out a lot of guess work.
Great video. Way more details than I was expecting.

If the relay works after tapping (stuck) should I replace it soon? Will it be good or will it continue to get stuck??
Great video 🙏What about the fan fuses and or relay

Hey man, thank you very much. I'm sure that is my problem. My fan motor was pulsating air from high to low, then it just stopped altogether.

Would these fuses still be the same in a 2008 crown Vic?

@@dannyzuehlsdorf3697 check the switch and connector itself, could be melted
@@DirtyDanMunicipalMan turns out it was the blower motor relay. Replaced and everything's working properly now.

Very well done sir! You are a master of your craft.
Hey buddy. I have a problem with my Lincoln. My blower motor stays on even though my A/C is off. Have you ran through this problem? Thanks in advance.

Its likely to be a short to ground in the blower motor resistor
Lehew Tech sweet. Appreciate your quick reply man.

I have taken it to many mechanics even i hv change my blower and fan but still the same problem

Hey I have an 07 p71 and my ground pin that the blower fuse connects to is not reading anything. How do I get my ground back to this pin?
Mine is blowing but it's not blowing near as hard as it should be.. Checked fuses under dash and we're fine. But it seems like something is half way bad
Ty! Very helpful!
I have problem with AC fan its only works in higher levels
Abdullah ALzahrani تكفى اذا عرفت حل المشكله علمني 😂
Ac unit control the speed control burn. U need a new one
Does the resistor deal with changing temperature from hot to cold?
No, it is only for speed of the blower motor
Are these compartments the same as an 04 crown vic?
How did your really come out so easy. I’m under the hood with pliers and can’t get it out. I’m sure it’s the original 18 year old part :(

Did all of this and bought a new blower motor n still nothing
My fan on comes on with the air and I got a new fan
all my fuses and relays are fine and my blower motor plug isn't getting power
