I can’t understand why all the manufacturers keep raising the height of the bed walls. I’ts gettin to where a person can’t reach into the new ones to grab anything.
People that actually use the for work. When I did masonry out of high school I worked with a contractor that used F150s and the bed walls were so high, a lot of times I had to get in the back of the truck to get something and I'm 6'.
samsquantch14 I think a lot of that had to do with the Ecoboost being the most powerful engine offered in the F150 and also is the one with the highest tow rating. They may not have the great exhaust note of the V8s, but they do have a ton of power I think this new 4 cylinder GM is making is going to be more for mileage rather than power. And idk, a 6 cylinder has always been part of full size trucks for decades. A 4 cylinder will have a lot of stigma to overcome, because no matter if it’s a decent engine or not there will be a lot of people pointing and snickering, not to mention a ton of jokes being made at it for quite some time
The material quality is the highest in the market right now for the interior as well as exterior. The trailering equipment and tech packaging is above and beyond all the others. Cargo volume is the best as well as configurations. The tried and true pushrod engines are reliable and second to none. This is a winner.
Go sit in a Ram. They use actual real wood, not plastic woodgrain from the 70's. They actually brand they "Laramie Longhorn" into the wood for the dash. Everything, except the bottom of the doors, is soft touch. I'm looking at trucks now, and the Ram interior is by far higher quality. Not saying the GM trucks are bad, just not at Rams level.
@@jasonfalk7696 The ram has a nicer style to the interior. Black longhorn is my favorite but the materials arent as goos. The glass mixture in the plastics scratch easily and are warping on the assembly line. The real wood is a very thin laminate over plastic. @@EGGINFOOLS I have driven them. My favorite thing about the new Silverado is they finally centered the steering wheel. The interior feels really cheap in the Chevy. Right down to cheap block off plates that fill holes on options the truck doesn't have. And like many, I'm having a hard time getting past how it looks.

Brand new car and still has an antenna? Really? Why? There's a shark fin for the satellite radio and such. Why is it that these trucks still have antennae for am/fm?

They're so great! I just hope so many people finance these that it's the only truck on the road, besides mine.... Nobody considers the future, what's that truck really gonna be by the time it's paid off? Thanks for tr videos, cheers!!
The Sad note- The brand new 2019 Silverado-Sierra twins can NOT even be ordered or does NOT come with the “power brake and foot pedal” adjuster.... Think about such a large truck without this option....If you have short legs, you have to move up the seat close to the steering wheel, which has an airbag in it. This is normally a pretty standard option for most trucks (GM, Ram, Ford)...Note-I actually own a 2017 Silverado, but some “bean counter” within GM axed this very useful feature (so they added rear vents finally but deleted the Power Pedal feature. Yah, this makes sense). Maybe a GM truck engineer will recommend removing the Power Window option while they’re removing other options or features.
I love how major Chevy guys talked shit about ford leading the way with aluminum body and small displacement truck engines but yet again here’s Chevy following fords lead.
Let's be honest everyone is down sizing in engine department. Governments standards are the reason why. GM is leading the way on mixed approach. The tech involved took yrs to develop. As far as alum the out going model did have a light weight hood.
This poor nameplate has fallen so far from grace, that it should be a crime. Not only is this pile of shit placing 3rd in the truck race, but it has the looks of a meth addicted single mom. You're paying $30k for a base 'work truck', and most models come with that god awful 10 speed that will keep getting recalled. Active cylinder management won't save fuel, as its the same tactic they have used for 40 years, and it just destroys engines. The different body panels mean that its going to be harder to fix in the future. The electronics will, most likely, break after a single year or two of driving. And the engine choices, a 4 cylinder? In a full size pickup? Why? This 'truck' is "new GMs" worst abortion yet.
AFM does save fuel. But I still don't like it. Tested it on a 1500 mile trip to Utah. Stayed in v8 mode on the way back and I got 4 mpg less the entire trip.
I'm a Chevy guy but the front end sucks, especially on that red one. I can't stand what all the makers are doing with the daytime running lights. STUPID! Computer design sucks, go back to wood and clay and shape it with the human hand. Why do you think the old cars and trucks are always so popular? Concerned about a 10 speed auto...just more stuff to go wrong I'm guessing. I'll keep driving my older one.
They do look pretty good right now....hopefully the issues with direct injection get better. I guess there are some problems with buildup around the injectors from being basically in the combustion chamber. F-150's look great, F250's are still so so for me as far as looks. I also have a E-450 chassis for my motorhome with the V-10...smoothest engine I own right now. Best looking class C motorhome by far is on the Ford chassis.

Yeah, what were they thinking when they redesigned the 2014 Impala? How about that ridiculous redesign front fascia on the 2019 Camaro? And now this 2019 Silverado looks absolutely horrible. Pitiful!!! John Cafaro was the one who designed all three vehicles.😝 They need to go back to the Chevrolet heritage designs from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
@Carrington Hollister yeah, they are trying to copy the design from Toyota Tundra. They needed to go back to their own heritage design roots from the 1970-1972 Chevy C-10 pickups as an inspiration.

I agree. Ram (actually FCA as a whole) has some of the best looking vehicles on the market, in my humble opinion. I just wish their quality and reliability ratings were a little better. I'm not saying their junk, but they really need to step their quality control up.
Ram did their homework. Chevy simply answered the 2015 ford redesign and fell short. No pano sunroof, start stop adaptive cruise, unrestricted engine options. Still unsure why the media is giving Chevy a pass on losing low range on non z71/ trail boss packages
Looks like the lights and hood mimic the F-150, I'd buy a Ram before I'd by a Chevy, The F-150 is very nice but gets generic quickly, I have a 17 F350 dually, great tow vehicle and very comfortable for a 1 ton dually but can't compete with the Ram in interior comfort and quality. But the Ford does give you the best bang for your buck. I've liked older Chevy's but it seems GM has been on their high horse for too long. The integrated gate is a good step but they lack in other innovations that if they did would charge an exorbitant rate for.
the 295 hp and 335 lbs of torque my 5.3 puts out is plenty for what i do ...so 310 hp and 348 lbs of torque, better mpg and fewer moving parts to break isnt a lowly package to me

The 4 cylinder mpg numbers are a serious letdown.
I wonder how many of those four cylinders are going to sell.
Guarantee when they go on the used market, no one will want them and they'll be thousands less than the v8 ones
I think 3 or 4 may sell to the grandpas of the world who dont know any better. The rest will rot away on dealer lots for years.
Is that why the ecoboost has outsold the coyote for years in the f150?
