- Elite Dangerous is a game where you fly across the galaxy doing really cool shit. Think Star Citizen but it's a functional game, or No Man Sky but the devs release patches that don’t get a ton of backlash from the community. In this video I execute one of the most dangerous missions of all traveling to Sag A* a 25,000 lightyear journey to the black hole at the core of our Galaxy.

Just to be clear, the * is not trivial, and is pronounced Star, so the center of the Milky Way is called Sagittarius A-star. The star is important, as it denotes that the point demarcating A is a strong radio source, which is how we detected it in the first place. There is no such location in-game or IRL called Sagittarius A.

This isn't exactly what I like in a channel but I subed because I like the game I know it's a hard one and I respect the effort. I will be honest I prefer short edit but mentioning how hard it is definitely obvious for this game for anyone who's played it.

Normally I'd have said a DBX would be a bad choice for a journey that long but if I was traveling with a guide like you did it makes a lot more sense. The DBX offers excellent jump range with minimal engineering, but those scoop times and limited internals (and the game's lack of true self-repair functions outside of civilization) makes it a dicey proposition for true deep space exploration. I think the furthest I've been in my DBX was about 2500 Ly from the Bubble and it was a real chore, mostly because of the scoop times, although resource gathering in it is pretty good, at least for raw and encoded mats because it's small and lets you get in small spots easily. Normally for a budget Sag A* trip I'd recommend the AspX, a much more capable ship in almost every way (including a much better cockpit).
Still a nice vid though. Despite my issues with how FDev renders black holes, it's still quite a sight to see, especially in VR.

I'm actually a 7 year veteran and I've yet to make the journey to Sag A* hahaha. Too much going on in the bubble but I will definitely be making the trip before I do my transfer to PC. I always recommend people take an SRV when they go on an expedition to explore. You'll thank yourself when you find some amazing planets along the way.
If you're the type of person that's looking for a sandbox to blaze your own trail in, I've yet to find a game that scratches the itch like elite does. I definitely don't recommend the game to everybody but when it was on gamepass or free on the epic store I told everyone to give it a shot.

300 million was a good amount for someone starting over. Psst. I just paid a guy like $40 for 500 billion credits. An absolute bargain for the amount of time it would have taken me to grind this. The guy was awesome too being patient with my absolutely newbie butt. I'll give anyone his name and where's he's at because he's that good. Freakin the inability to transfer credits like sc?!? Great video. I'm debating on jumping to a far away system and I'm at a pretty good spot now. The games complicated and yes takes a lot of time but it's slowly becoming my go to as sc slllloooowwwllly improves.

However good old ED wants everyone to grind so you can't transfer funds directly heaven forbid unlike other games. And crashing and getting attacked by stations and FC's and accidental fines with various factions all over for an absolute newb. That would have months. No thanks with my time, but you're another "expert" who has played for years and thousands of hours... I just love hearing from experts in all the games I've played over the years. So opinionated or is that insecure?
