I think he didn’t want to make it too obvious that he chooses Cube. Daz has remade Ice Cubes’s My Summer Vacation. Cube has definitely influenced him….and Biggie while we’re at it. Cube is the right choice no question. Some rappers get tossed around in best lyricist conversations, some don’t belong in those conversations. Not because they’re not great lyricists, but because they surpass being in categories like that. They’re in god status. Cube is in that status.

@@jayaallday8516The D.O C's No One Can Do It Better (1989) was a great album, but the D.O.C career was cut short. His contributions with N.W.A great, but lets be real. He only had one good album. We not talking about ghost writing, we talking about him as an artist. Him being with the Fila Fresh Crew (1988's Tuffest Man Alive), his later solo albums such as Helter Skelter (1996) and Deuce (2003) pales in comparison to MC Ren's albums.
MC Ren had solo albums such as [1] Kizz My Black Azz (1992), Shock of the Hour (1993), Villain in Black (1996), Ruthless for Life (1998), Lost in the Game (2004), Renincarnated (2009) and Osiris (2022). @thefearofg0ds758 He started writing his shit later. It was never about him writing his own shit. It was his delivery that was impactful to Westcoast gangsta shit. Eazy laid the foundation in 1987-88 before 2pac. He was one the fish along with Ice T on this Westcoast gangsta shit and was from Compton. 2pac came later in the 90s and became the voice for the Westcoast. If there no Eazy E there is no Snoop Dogg or 2pac or any of these other guys like Nipsey Hustle. You guys became prisoners of the moment before understanding who laid the foundation for shit. @@omarsharif3381 I call it what I think it is regardless. For instance I don’t understand the comparison between DMX and Tupac. Even though, I don’t think Tupac was Greta lyrically, he was clearly better and more impactful than DMX. That’s not to say that DMX didn’t have a great run. I can agree that the East Coast have been egocentric when it comes to Hip Hop, but it undebatable that BIG was considered to be top 5, especially before the Lil Wayne’s, Eminem’s and Kendrick’s of the world.
