    They should have a law for the brokers to clearly state if it's 1 drop or multi drop. If it'd multi drop it should be double the rate and so forth.

    After checking all the garbage loads next to Madison-WI for few hours, I decided to deadhead all the way to St . Louis,MO. Better pay money from my own pocket than haul that cheap , insulting rate loads from around Chicago area.MN or WI is no batter, for flatbed, than Oklahoma or Kansas. Garbage. The flatbed business works the exact opposite way of dry van business. States good for dry van ( IA, MN, WI, Chicago area,etc) are bad for flatbeds. States bad for dry van ( AL, MS,LA,KY, PA,WV) are good for flatbeds. Rule of thumb-never run a flatbed toward a state producing food-that’s a box trailer turf.

    Man being a Motor Carrier has definitely made me patient. Im learning as i go and making the best moves and decisions i can. A lot of people don't want to show you how to run a trucking company because it creates more competition.(IMO) And if they do they want you to pay them life.

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It definitely creates competition. I think this industry is big enough that there’s enough for everyone. It’s not like it’s easy to run the show by yourself. That’s why I want to show everyone what I do so people can learn from and maybe go into it or not. I don’t just want to show the good days. I want people to see that there are a lot of bad days too. Sometimes more bad days than good really.

    I spoke with a lending broker today and they told me that as of end of q1 2024 the delinquency rates on commercial truck loans are still increasing and they think that the freight market in general has further to fall before it hits bottom.😕

    • @pinoytrucking

      I hope not on the bottoming part. I’ve never really seen or used Sylectus.

    • @2ferone86
      @2ferone86 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't ask why they thought that, or maybe I misunderstood something. I was surprised to hear delinquency rates were still rising though. At least fuel cost is going down but that might not be a good sign. You seem to be doing OK with the flatbed despite the less than ideal market but I think you've probably made some more strategic choices than most. 👍

    Dat used to have a feature that would show you trucks in versus trucks out so you knew you were in a good area... me personally I have found the Bible Belt is about as good as it's going to get with flatbed or step deck's/ kind of glad you got a couple of trolls shows your channel is growing

    • @pinoytrucking

      I would also add on to that. I like AL, TN, GA, SC area for short runs. I know trolls will come along as the channel grows. I don’t mine it. That’s what negative people do. Usually have a miserable life so they try to inflict it on others.

    Sir, I really appreciate your time and videos that you share. Out of ALL the videos I watch related to Trucking and Owner Ops, I believe yours is the most sincere, humble and simplistic. I am praying on having my Own Semi and Authority. I have been a flatbed and step Deck company driver for a a few years but I am considering making more $$$$ as of now I am a Heavy equipment operator and instructor. I may consider RGN lanes. I'm not sure. But, I really am grateful for channels like yours. Blessings to YOU and YOURS, and May the force be with you.👑

    • @pinoytrucking
      @pinoytrucking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you 🙏 As far as RGN or Step/Flat I would suggest give RGN a hard look because you now getting to specifics. Unless you in an area like Texas an RGN would be ideal I think or if you find customers that needs something move all the time then I would suggest it. As far as OTR in general. I don’t think it’s good IMO. I spoke to an RGN driver who’s doing % as a company driver and he shares the same sentiment.

    Mr. Pinoy Trucking: FWIW, I think you are doing what you need to do to stay rolling and get by in these difficult times. Your approach to load board freight is solid, and you seem realistic about your choices and responsibilities. As a relatively new entrant to the business who has chosen a tough time to get into trucking, stay the course and get time and miles under your belt so you can have greater choices about what you haul and who you haul it for in the future. Although it is challenging, if at all possible try to work on direct-to-customer freight connections so you can work for someone and not only get all of the revenue but to develop a relationship with a customer who sees the "value" you can provide to them. I am recently retired after 40 years in trucking, going from being an owner-operator to having a small fleet of 10 company trucks. My preference was 65-75% direct freight and the balance from brokers, mostly established brokerage divisions of large asset-heavy carriers that I developed relationships with. I retired financially secure and trucking has been good to me but it required a great crew of drivers, very hard work, perseverance through tough times and more than a little luck. Keep on the path you have chosen and ignore the chirping from the cheap seats. There will always be background noise, especially from the keyboard warriors, but keep your focus on the select group that you choose to be truly responsible to. You do you and maintain your integrity and ethics and you will be successful. Good luck and safe travels.
