  • Here is my second "semi-improvised" jam using the Novation's Circuit Track
This time I decided to remix a classical chiptune that I love !
Original one is Hybrid Song, composed in jan. 96 by Quazar of Sanxion
    Hope you like it
    My Setup:
Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, lead, delay / reverb effects
    Korg NTS-1: Main melody
Volca bass: Solo and build up

Hi! It is very cool. Please tell me what kind of oscillator you use on NTS.

      Hi! Thank you :)
For the osc, I got it from "roll-log sounds" website
Check for the polySquares osc, it's free to use :)

Hey Geoffroy, congratulations for your work. It's really the kind of music I like.
By the way I'm getting interested in music creation but I'm a total newbie. I'm a big fan of analog sounds and the kind of sounds you use please me a lot.
I'm looking for advices to build my first dawless setup and maybe you could give me some advices.
I will start with the Nova Circuit Tracks but I wonder which could be the best unit to add as an extra sound module. The Volca Bass sounds great to me but is it not possible to get the same results with the NS -1 or both are complementary ? The next step will be a bigger synth like the Monologue or the Microfreak of maybe the Minibrute 2s but that's not my major concern in the meantime.
Thank you for your advices. Enjoy ! Jean-Christophe

      Hi Jean Christophe,
Thank you for your feedback ! You can use the nts1 with a volca bass preset that emulates the analog one. (you can find it on the internet easily) For the next step, maybe you could search for a Volca Key ? I think it should be a really good choice for add chords with an analog sound.. I'm searching one to complete my setup 😉
Glad that my videos inspires you 😁

Love it! Which sample/settings pack are you using for the Circuit Tracks?

      Hi ! Thank you :)
I used my own pack that I created with the novation components software :)

Woii that sounds really really great!
Any post production applied or is it all 'raw'?

Thank you ! I just applied a little bit of mastering to get a louder sound .. (all the FX / sounds comes from hardware)

Does 8 patterns per track sufffice for such arrangement without extending the bar length by lowering the measure resolution and such hacks?

    • @ekzil35
      @ekzil35  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes it's a little bit limiting .. The hack consists of duplicate the whole song to create another patterns. It works great because there is no latency time between the playing of different songs :)

can u have more than 2 volcas or is it 2 synth limit>?

    • @ekzil35

The circuit can only accept 2 external synths. But with the nts-1, you can add one extra synth because it has audio in :)
