      *Kittichai in Thailand* No offense, but you shouldn't judge Americans by TH-cam comments. Most of us are very tolerable, because we know people from all over the world. The problem is, some Americans will be hateful on TH-cam comments, because they think it's funny, and they hide behind fake name son the internet, but if you asked them *_to their face,_* they would most likely be friendly. . Also, we have people from all over the world who say they are Americans, when *_they are not._* The *fake Americans* make us *TRUE Americans* look bad. The trolls who hide behind fake TH-cam names, or pretend to be Americans, aren't even important. Their views don't count. If you were to come here, and travel each and every state, you would see how different we are from each other, but we are still the same. If you asked similar questions across The U.S., (to be honest), people may not even know a lot about Thai culture, but you would be greeted very friendly. *_Except,_* in certain areas, where *no one* is greeted friendly. I am from the South, and people from other parts of our own country, and also many people from all over the world, think that we are all racists in the South. We're not. There *_are_* plenty of haters and racists _all across_ America, but they are minimal compared to the total number of Americans. And since Trump took office, we had a surge in hate, which most Americans are looking at in disbelief, so even *_that_* wave of hate, has began to disappear, and we are once again beginning to try to be more kind towards one another. Still, if you look in American TH-cam Channel comments, you will see a lot of people calling themselves Americans and hating each other, or trying to start arguments, these are still trolls that say mean things, but they don't have logical answers to why they hate. Our government has proven that many trolls who say they are American, originated in other countries, mainly China, and Russia. They have shut some down, but new ones pop up. This happens on Facebook, TH-cam, reddit, and any such sites. Although, our humor can sometimes sound worse than it is. The average American doesn't even have a reason to dislike Thais. Keep in mind, however, that at *_this_* time, we have a hate filled president, and he has convinced *_some_* Americans, that every other country is stealing our jobs. But most Americans know that we rely on items made outside of the U.S.A. *Tell your friends,* we're sorry fake people want to act like they speak for America, but true Americans wouldn't have bad things to say about Thais. Thank you.

      It’s the “typical American diet”. Fast food is cheap and readily available everywhere here. That said I saw more than a few fat Thai folks as well. One afternoon in BKK, a German guy I met and I decided to follow large Thai people and see where they went. It was amazing how many of them we followed to an American style fast food joint within a half hour or so....point being it’s not an American thing so much as a horrible diet thing

    • @MrCoolbeanstogo
      @MrCoolbeanstogo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Carlus Wilmot I think what the world thinks of America is actually "white America" because whites are the ones with money who travel around the world and represent America . Yes you cannot generalize people, like you cannot say all white Americans are fat, ignorant, loud and racist but enough of them are to project that image in people's minds.

    I have been to Thailand 55 times so far and own many businesses inside the country with almost 100% Thai staff. I like both sides but: I think many foreigners (not just Americans) come to Thailand to use the resources and tourist attractions but not many tried to give back or be associated with Thailand or Thai people in a stronger way. So that's 50% of the problem. The other half is that many Thai people don't do more then just show people pad Thai, temples, and khao San road, and other easy things about their culture. There isn't a stronger connection or effort. Many also don't speak English very well and are very surprised when a foreigner can speak Thai. I see many Thai people who can speak English are acting like they are better than other Thai people. This behavior is wrong in the number one tourist country in the world. That's why when I go to local Thai places to eat or bars I see a different experience. It's 50% foreigners fault and 50% Thai people's fault. Obviously some foreigners and some Thai people try harder and give more energy but not enough. The result is only a small tolerance from both sides but not a true understanding of each other.

    I am married to a Thai girl that I met in America. She is from Kohn Kean, Thailand. I can say that most Americans that don’t travel a lot do tend to think of Thailand as a place with beaches and elephants. But Americans that do travel a lot know that Thailand is so much more. Kohn Kean is beautiful with a great university, nice street food, lots of businesses, a big marathon race, good weather, etc. yes, Americans do like Thailand because it is cheap, but no...Americans do not come to Thailand for prostitution....there is too much of that here in America. However we do find the girls in Thailand to be the most beautiful. And the one speaker is correct that we do think of Thai girls as shy and reserved. But my experience is Thai guys are not shy and not afraid to ask questions.

    Fat people eating hamburgers :))))))) Wow is correct at 01:37 ...there is a lucky American man somewhere falling in love with this intelligent woman as she speaks from her heart...including me. And yes, 04:40 Thai people ARE beautiful :)))) Just the facts...but people who visit Vegas for particular reasons do not live there. 05:20 Americans that return to Thailand to vacation or retire there do not want to experience the Asian side of things...they like the THAI side of things :) ...but mostly because Thai people are of kinder, gentler and more genuine heart and mind. The government denies these things because they are right to...as you said...the oldest profession in the world is everywhere...and it is also good that a Thai person doesn't feel they are restricted as for what they can say in public domain. That would be no good being punished (or worse) for saying what you feel. Could you imagine?...that would cause the life span of Thai person to decrease hugely and for many reasons. Thai's are also becoming more interested and placing value in health and on many levels also....very cool.
    Always a good show... and as you know...Americans truly care about Thai people..that fact is obvious...look around...but places like Pattaya 04:30 exist everywhere....even in USA. Look at Las Vegas. One of my greatest loves in life was actually a woman who once worked in Vegas. I liked the Pattaya atmosphere mostly because many Russians are there and they make me laugh my a55 off. Also good people. You know in the scientific community the term "survival of the fittest"... looks like history has always liked beautiful people with good heads on their shoulders.... and even maybe these days in history ...this fittest being those also having good hearts enough to realize that accepting others is a good thing and not a bad thing. (probably looked at as a weakness in past cultures) 04:55 (yes, I know you think I am so cute with my big cheeks) :)))))) I KNOW you didn't say that...I did. ...and so shy.
    Shows like yours bring cultures together and with honesty...which is why Americans like Thai people in the first place...when they understand what they truly feel. Thai people are much more accepting of other cultures than other places are...and they are also a very good judge of character...IMO Good capture...people very much open up to you...an Ambassador and an entertainer all in one.
    You don't like the Game Show idea? You should get someone who feels no Greng Jai in asking a promoter/producer to see the good idea of a "Thai Seinfeld" like show... You would also be a perfect straight man in a sit com like this..... :)))))) .

  • @MrTobify
    @MrTobify 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    @Kittichai could you ask thai people (maybe also thai couples) what they think about thai girls with farang friends or boyfriends (or the other way around).
    Do they think that it's a couple if they are not holding hands? If they think they are a couple, do they think that the thai girl really is in love or that she might be with a farang for his status or money.
    The reason is, that I've already had bad experiences being at Chula campus in Bangkok with a female friend of mine even though we hadn't have any kind of sexual relationship.
    When I was in Ubon a friend went shopping with me but she refused to show me around university campus because she was afraid about bad rumors.
    Of course you should clearly distinguish
    between "ordinary interracial couples" and "young thai girl with old farang" (the kind of tourists that like pattaya and soi cowboy the most).
    And please ask them, if they think different depending on the location they see them: pattaya beach, pattaya bar, streets/park or shopping mall in bangkok or less popular provinces (for tourists) like korat and ubon for example.
    BTW Thanks for your great work :)

    It is fun to know what other countries think of us Americans lol. I love Thailand and have been there because I love the architecture, art, traditional music and dance plus the food and of course the country side is nice. I have heard many tourists go for sex, getting drink and drugs. I can assure you this isn’t the case with me or many I have known to go there and hope stuff like this would be less popular and I feel those type of tourists have no respect at all. In Thailand I have been to Bangkok, surrounding areas, Udon Thani and other small towns surrounding, nong kai, Chiang Mai and Chiang rai, we went through many other small towns/villages as well and is all so beautiful. I personally don’t think Thailand is underdeveloped compared to the US, maybe differently developed but not less superior.

Not everyone eats hamburgers often ;) many people here are of bigger size not just due to that but because of all the unneeded additives in foods and too many amounts of processed foods available

    I would hope that we have good relations with Thailand, because we've had diplomatic relations with that fine country since 1818 and treaties going back to 1833. We also had good relations with Thailand during World War II, the Vietnam War, and our current War on Terror. Thailand is different, but has many admirable qualities.

      As a dual thai American citizen who has lived in both countries, I can say that American attitudes of superiority in terms of economics and politics can create a dangerous situation in Thailand in which the impressionable youth or those who see “the grass as greener on the other side”, will demand changes in Thailand that the older generation and elites are not ready for. I too hope for our relations to be peaceful however much conversation about Thailand by Americans and foreigners has becoming increasingly criticizing and less friendly. It’s hard to tell Americans to not talk about something they know little to nothing about since they’ve be programmed to believe they have a right to talk about anything and go to war with anyone who says otherwise

    As a "fat cheeseburger eating American" I don't go for prostitutes....I go for beautiful beaches and cheap prices. I am from seattle and we get 9 months of gray rainy weather. The sun and heat of thailand is a welcome relief. I was invited first time by a Thai woman I had dated in Seattle. I also go for medical tourism. I get my vision and dental done in thailand. I also enjoy the attitudes of the beautiful women of thailand. They are a welcome relief from the spoiled American women... as for prejudice most Americans are very open and accepting of other culture and I enjoy thai culture....that being said we also have strong opinions in usa and we don't mind voicing them. (saving and losing face is not a thing in the usa). There are definitely some things we think are messed up about thailand. For instance using toliet paper as napkins at a restaurant...and the idea of Sin Sod is offensive to most American women. But given our flaws in the usa we have a lot to learn from thailand too...your never say die attitude. The attitude of personal responsibility and you calmness in many situations is admirable...and the bum gun....LOVE THE BUM GUN.....WHY DOES THE USA NOT HAVE THIS-!!!!.

    • @stevejustice9491
      @stevejustice9491 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sunday Evening Toliet paper is inefficient and ineffective. Not to mention ghetto. Sticks to your hands and face. Only thing TP is good for is blowing your nose and drying your butt off after using the bum gun.....And I am well aware what sin sod is for...it is just outdated.

    • @stevejustice9491
      @stevejustice9491 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sunday Evening in usa men and women have equality....more and more men in the usa have been finacially destroyed by women in divorce court....men in the usa (and other western countries) are wisely asking "where is my guarantee"...honestly if a Thai women marries a man from the USA her family should pay him....the economic opportunities he is going to open up for her and her family, by his gift of citizenship is invaluable. ( in fact i know of cases where men have been offered up to 1.6 million baht by poeple from Mexico and Eastern European countries to marry them). After 2 years even if she divorces him she can retain her green card....where is the man's guarantee after he has invested all his time and effort and money (money = compensation for even more time and effort) that she will stick around....simply put my grandmother told me a great saying..."in life, there is no gaurentee!"

    As an American I always say in general about any human being is that everyone is different in their own way. I've been to Thailand many times over the years and love it there. The people are beyond friendly and as educated as Americans if not more. The woman that speaks clear english is a prime example of many of the Thai natives I've met over the years. In America you don't see as many people that can speak multiple languages let alone their own language clearly. I'm not a biased or judgmental person so I see people differently than most. All societies are different. It's just opening up to learning and evolving into someone else's culture that makes people different. People are too quick to judge now a days and it shouldn't be that way cause people are missing out

    Black American here. I can tell you how most Americans would answer these questions. The uneducated ones will think you are Chinese. The average American will just classify you as Asian. The more inquisitive/academic ones will sometimes want to know much more about your culture. We don't have any inherent bias against Thailand in the states. No one talks about Thailand much. To be honest, most Americans don't think about any place outside of America unless it is for vacationing. Also, these guys are confusing "Americans" with the old dudes who go there to sleep with underage people. That's disgusting, but it is a well known thing here in the states. I WILL say this. I watch a lot of Thai shows. I am really disturbed by the obsession with having white skin and pink lips. That European standard is no longer relevant in the states, so I find it troubling that brown Thai people aren't celebrated--at least in the shows I have seen. Also, I'm 6'1 175. tall/slim Lots of Americans are skinny. I would love to visit Thailand someday, but I don't want to leave one place with familiar hatred to go to another with unfamiliar hatred if that is all I will find. That's just my perception. I know every single person is different no matter the country.

    Loved the video and the thoughts by the young Thai people. They are not wrong but our country is a melting pot of different ethnic backgrounds, ideologies and behaviors that even embarrass other Americans. We are very lucky to have a prosperous society and even the poor can always get food or shelter from the government or from non profit groups. Nobody really starves if they seek help in America. What intrigues me about Thailand is the beauty of the country, the kindness of the people, the love of their animals and cats in particular. I would like to travel to see the Thai cat breeding center. The food is delicious and the cultural practices are different from ours so your country intrigues me. Kittichai, I have to admit the ladies had an interesting perspective versus the young men in your video. As for your point about your (or any) comments section there will always be trolls (usually based on envy or anger.. btw anger is derived from fear), and there might be some humor misunderstanding (in American culture we tend to use teasing/joking as a friendly interaction or a form of affection/liking). America traditionally is a melting pot, where the unifying culture is (was) based on the ideas within our Constitution (sadly less so in today's uneducated highly indoctrinated NPC environment). As always, enjoy your videos, especially since your questions sometimes can be more insightful of perspectives than the answers!

    Making an issue of prostitution doesn't help Thailand, and is quite racist and stereotypical. I have been here almost 40 years and none of my family or friends that have visited expressed any interest. There are so many positive reasons why people visit TL. Those two boys, yes BOYS, seem to be projecting and making fun of their own people. Disappointing.
