    Diversification is the secret to optimal performance. This is why I have my interests set on market sectors based on performance and projected growth, such as stock, EV sector, renewable energy, Tech, and Health. Keep investing regularly and you'll be blown away how much it can change in a few short years. Here's to $1 million and to FIRE

      A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. If one is in their 40s and just started investing (have 401k from work). Should they just focus on growth etf since it will be too late for them to see real benefits with dividends? I’ve been sitting on over 345K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here

    • @ShelleyfromCali
      @ShelleyfromCali 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I wouldn't say early 40's is 'too late' for anything related to investing. If you have at least 20 years left to put money into the market then I think growth is a nice way to lean. I would still have a balance of the two. I think value/dividends is good to have at any age in any market (with at least a portion of the portfolio). Started investing in the wake of the 2020 pandemic and I've gone from 200K to over ~$1.5m!

      Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in equity index funds, ETFs and various high-quality stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system makes it much more hands-off. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it possible for me, especially with having enough time.

    Investing in stocks may appear simple, but selecting the appropriate stock without a proven strategy can be tough. I've been trying to develop my $210,000 portfolio for a while, but the biggest hurdle is a lack of a clear entrance and exit strategy. Any feedback on this topic would be greatly welcomed.

    Impressive video! Your detailed analysis of the intricate pension situation and the potential impact of the debt ceiling crisis is a compelling wake-up call for proactive financial planning. Yet, adding a touch on alternative investment strategies, such as the potentially lucrative day trading, would have elevated the discussion. Though risky, with strong risk management and a keen understanding of the markets, it can be a profitable endeavor. Continuous learning, staying updated with trends, and leveraging insights like Gustavo Hillard’s are critical to success. Remember, with discipline and dedication, trading success is within reach……

      You are right, also there is wrong comparison between etf and index fund.
      Comparison should between index fund and large cap fund or other so, or comparison between ETF and stocks, I. E. Buy unitech and other infra stock in 2008 and our money was stuck but if we bought infra etf in 2008 now it is trading at 3 times higher. So etf give comfort to almost not loose money whether it can take time.

    Very well explained.
    However, one point was missed out related to Loads. In case of ETFs, there are no exit loads. However, in case of index funds, AMC may or may not charge exit load. This can affect some of the investors who aim for tactical investment for short term period in index funds (if exit load is levied by the AMC).
    Also, taking an example of heavy volatility seen during early COVID-19 days, ETFs were one of the best investments as compared to index funds as it could have given a benefit to invest at a lower levels during the day. Please refer NSE Volumes from March to July 2020.
    In case of ETF, AMC never comes out with a target of raising NFO amount like IPO of a company getting listed. During NFO, ETF units are made available to everyone who subscribes and there is no cap limit unlike an IPO of a new company where prorata allotment comes into picture during oversubscription.
    ETF product has gained more prominence in last two years and AUM has been steadily rising along with more investor folio counts. Importantly, many investors also park their money in liquid ETF and can also earn dividends during weekends as well.
    Yes, demat is compulsory to invest or trade in ETFs unlike Index Funds.

    • @virangmehta8761
      @virangmehta8761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exception to having a target amount to be raised during NFO, has happened during Government mandated schemes, which is just not so frequent in nature.

    • @mahesha6363
      @mahesha6363 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If one buys liquid ETF on Friday and sells after 3 days ie on Monday will he earn dividend as stated by u ? On shares there is demat transaction charge, stt, stamp duty, gst etc. I guess it is less in case of liquid ETF still buying for 3 days doesn't look beneficial

    • @virangmehta8761
      @virangmehta8761 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mahesha6363 Dividends are earned in terms of units but not appreciation in NAV. NAV of a Liquid ETF will stay constant. In general, STT is not applicable on ETF buying and on selling it’s negligible to an extent of 0.001% (delivery based) and 0.025% (intra-day based). However, in case of Liquid ETF, there is no STT applicable both on buying or selling. Yes, there are other charges like any other stock traded on the exchange. It may be beneficial more to an individual investor if they want to temporarily switch to cash position anticipating for an appropriate buying opportunity levels of their desired stocks. Also, large institutions might park their money over the weekend to get good amount of gains (in absolute gains).

    We have seen that since inception 38 out of 50 stocks of the Nifty have been eliminated & new have entered. Everyone is not as dynamic to unload the bad boys like yes bank. For such people ETF is good. They say that after 10 years Nifty will quadruple. Even Finance Ministry & RBI closely watch unusual movements in the market. You don't know which stock price will be manipulated by some Dalal, Harshad, Ketan or Rakesh. In such circumstances ETF is the best option. Low service/ administrative expenses is an added advantage.

    Thanks for detailed information. However I have some questions:
    1) Is there any maturity (or life) in ETF ? Example, like it will be matured in 5 years or 10 years.
    2) This is exchange traded fund. So the price is decided by buyers/sellers and not by the company. Is this right ? If I buy any Index Mutual Fund from any fund house than they will provide me NAV of that day which is decided by fund house directly. But if I buy via demat account than the price is decided by seller and not the fund house directly. So there should be two price of ETF. The first price is shown in the demat account (buying/selling price) and second is real NAV declated by fund house (if any, I am not sure). Please clerify this point too. Also can I see it's real NAV delcated by Fund house directly of any ETF?
