I love the twin turbo but I have to say I much prefer Pask Makes’ quick release mechanism. What’s better than fast spinning? No spinning required at all!
The twin turbo vise is one of the few motivating factors for me wanting to build a new bench. He came out with this a year or so after I built my current bench. I might also just try to retrofit it in place of one of my current vises…
Multi ratio down below. Serious question, is it difficult aligning the two pairs of blocks that bolt to the underside of the bench? To my mind it looks like if you don't get them spot on the vice could bind
It depends on which appendage you're going to sacrifice to the saw gods. Bad ax toolworks used to sell one. But most of them are custom made from an individual saw maker.
Those blocks have a lot of play on the bolts so you get the bolts close to where you want and then you put the vise in with them. Wiggly and then you can tighten them down where they need to be. So they're relatively easily adjustable.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo Okay on the vise adjustment. But I am trying to learn how to pun from the master with a play on the words 'Vice' and 'Vise'. I"m probably missing something.
Then you have to come up with a separate mechanism to keep the crank always pointed in the same direction and you need to be able to slide the arm from one end to the other. So when the arm is vertical it's not sticking up past the edge of the bench. It can be done and I've seen it a couple times but it's always way more complicated than it seems.
This vise really grinds my gears!
I want to be snarky, but that vise is so darned cool!
James has a vice... A vise collecting habit.
I picked this vise for my first workbench. Being enjoying using it for all kind of tasks since then.
good for you 2 vices . i got more vices ,smoking eating breathing ..... thank you . those look like great vices .
Beautiful, James! It turned great in there! 😃
Andrew is great! And brilliant!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Every man needs at least one vise.
Great video looks great to James.
Really cool vise. I'm happy for you and glad that it brings you so much joy.
Great job there, James. I was jealous of your new bench before. That new vice just ramps my jealousy up to 11. It is a thing of beauty.
James great vice
Really James!!! More Vises!!!!😊😂😂😂😂🎉❤
In the future James will build a 30 foot long Bench with 12 vises 😂
😂😂😂

Good looking vise. Good installation demo. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Yes! I love bench videos
So dreamy
This need be a playlist .. "Pimp my bench"
I for sure want one, just such a cool mechanism.
The fast action handle is where it's at! I highly recommend that you check it out. Great vise. I love mine.
Thanks James
Cool vice. Thanks for sharing.
Geaux Tigers!!
Yes I have vise envy
So I need it? Not really. Do I want it? Definitely!
Love it!
Okay, that's just cool.
Gorgeous! Just be careful not to ride the clutch
Snark snark snark!
Thanks for sharing that, , I have to fix my planers!
Nice. Does it come with breaks or reversible turbines? LOL.
There are so many other options that are more cost effective, but I'll be damned if I don't want one of these so badly just for the cool factor.
Gorgeous & functional 😊 like it.
Very nice, very nice
Nice toys
Couple of questions: does this vise ever require lubricant around the bushings? Are the bushings expected to wear out and be replaced in time?
A little dab of oil once in awhile. But that's the same with most any vise. They may wear out over the course of a lifetime.
Very cool
Cool

Snark! 🎉

Twin turbo's, what does it do over the quarter mile 😮
Love that look, screams Steampunk and stuff... so when you going to send me your Veritas vice since you won't be needing it anymore :P
CDB!
Very cool vise and now I want one. On another note, where can I get one of those 1/2 back cross cut saws?
It depends on which appendage you're going to sacrifice to the saw gods. Bad ax toolworks used to sell one. But most of them are custom made from an individual saw maker.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo I wonder if I could get a Veritas cross cut tenon saw and make a new handle and scavenge/make a brass 1/2 back?
Looks like a new half back saw?
yup. I picked it up at an auction a few weeks ago.
Very nice are you going to cut the edges of the bench to remove the live edge?
Nope. I'm going to keep the live age
That was gripping .... (pun intended)
Double speed🎉🎉
WW, I may have missed this but what ia/was the price of all the lumber for the bench? Thanks
I bought it green about 2 years ago. I don't remember exactly off the top of my head but it was a screaming good deal. I think around $600
Have you ever put your own head in a vice?
What kind of vice would be best?
Snark snark snark
Gears!!! Can never have too many, always need more!
will you put grease / oil on the gears or would it make a mess ?
not on the gears. but a bit of light oil on the screws.
Hey James how's the family
Snide remark.
Which vise is named 'Miami'? Just ask'n. Vice looks way cool.

lol sorry. i put that comment on the wrong one.
My worst vice is my vise addiction.
I hope with all these vices you don't get busted
What is that saw with the little back you’re using?
That is a half back.
You can send me your number one and I can try on my end!
Awesome video!
vise vice
the best part!
Wiz Wur wizzz
Andrew is a brilliant individual as well James you may be challenged at some point! Ha ha
Wouldn't a crank handle be more ergonomic?
Are you talking about a wheel? In that case the problem is it sticks up above the top of the bench.
@@WoodByWrightHowTo I mean a single arm crank handle like on an old meat grinder or hand crank grain mill.
Then you have to come up with a separate mechanism to keep the crank always pointed in the same direction and you need to be able to slide the arm from one end to the other.
