    I am planning on keeping this iron, even though it auto shuts off every 8 minutes or so. This is one of the best irons I have used for steam and it performs very well.

      @SheerStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ it presses very well and the steam is amazing. As for the safety feature of shutting off after 8 minutes - unless you are using it if it is left alone for 8 minutes straight it shuts off, it is annoying but does not affect its functionality. 🥰

      Update: I have had this for 1 year now and it is still going strong, the only thing that has worn is the fabric wrapped cord frayed (fixed with electrical tape) as I use the iron at least 8 hours 6-7 days a week.

      @SheerStitchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update: When it is on constantly and I have a dedicated person for ironing it did get some brown scortch marks around the white plastic (but doesn't affect the functionality of the iron).

    This is how you create a review for a steamer/iron. Not all those other videos where all they do is read the description about the product and don’t actually steam anything or only steam 1 item. Finally a helpful review!! Thank you!!🎉😊❤

    I would like to see someone do a descaling, or a cleaning out of the calcium collector, so I can be sure I understand the whole concept and do it correctly.

      What did you do to preserve it that long and not get the spitting and leaking that others (myself included) have had happen with Rowenta irons?

    Great review! Iiked seeing exactly how it worked on the different fabrics

  • @knitterliness

    I'm a quilter, and it's constantly turning itself off just as I need it again to press a seam. I am beyond exasperated... pressing the button as instructed to wake it up takes so long to return to operation that I leave the room and then forget about it... if it didn't cost so much, and work so well when it actually turns on, I would get rid of it.

    • @SheerStitchery

      Haha, I know how you feel. I am always paranoid about it shutting off so I hit the steam button every so often when I piecing so it doesn't shut off. 😅

    Thank you for the video! I am looking for a steamer. Is it heavy to hold ? I need to steam my curtains and i don't want to get tired just by holding it. Would still recommend it for that purpose and the like?

    • @SheerStitchery
      @SheerStitchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is actually very comfortable to hold, as the steam station is separate from the iron itself. I also have a Singer Steam Works Pro that would be perfect for ironing curtains and it is not heavy at all. I use it to steam bridal gowns and suits.

    Hi ! How to clean this kind of iron coz there is brown water coming out ...

    • @SheerStitchery
      @SheerStitchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, dear. I have never had brown water on my iron. I only use distilled water in my iron to avoid any dissolved elements like calcium and iron. Sorry, not sure how to clean it.

    From all the steam iron stations you could have chosen...why Rowenta and why this model? You did not mention why you chose this compared to all other iron stations available.

    • @SheerStitchery
      @SheerStitchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I chose this one because of the large water reservoir, pressure of steam output and ease of install. I was alo looking at a gravity fed iron and you need to have hooks on the ceiling to hold the cords and it is not as safe. 🥰

    • @SheerStitchery

      The large water reservoir is a huge plus compared to the regular Rowenta (or Olso irons for that matter). Not sure I could go back to the ones with such a small water reserve.

      Oh, dear sounds like you should reach out to them as you got a defect. I’ve had mine for over two years and have had no issues (and I use it 6-8 hours a day off and on as I sew). The only thing that came up was my cord began to fray because it was rubbing on the open cabinet door so I wrapped it in electrical tape.
