Shocked and horrified. So many times when I watch these videos I'm literally screaming " Put down the scissors". Alot of the time I think people cut or color their hair when they're having an emotional meltdown or have a big event coming up in a day or 2. Please don't do that! If you're broke try a beauty school. I used to get my highlights done at the beauty school in Tempe Arizona in the 90s and it always came out well. They're under supervision and the cost was so much cheaper. I feel so bad for that poor girl, her hair was beautiful before she cut it.😢
How did she even get bald spots if she was only cutting the lengths 😂she had to have just taken the scissors and got as close to her scalp as possible and just cut 😂
@@Nizhonibearcreek exactly trying to even cut the back she put the scissors too close to that scalp, when you first start doing self hair cuts that is one of the hardest things to master. 1 trick is pull the back straight down below the neck hold and cut below your fingers takes getting use too
It was beautiful hair. Luckily she also has a beautiful face and can get away with a buzz cut. I guess no one questions women who get their head shaved for charity which I also think takes guts.
I watched and listened very closely to Hair Buddha educational videos and I learned how to do my own hair. I've never had a good experience with hair dressers and they charge a price I simply cannot afford but thanks to Hair Buddha I've been a platinum blonde with 0 damage for 3 years now. Thank you for all the knowledge you've shared through the years!!
Maybe that’s why they’re expensive? That’s an anomaly! I’m not well-off, but there’s no price tag on my hair…. especially since my partner pays for it. ☺️
@@JaxHolder1 It really depends on the type of hair you have, mine is fine and wavy. Before I used to use the Aphogee 2 step protein treatment and then switched to Olaplex 3, I use it once every 2 weeks. The second girls first cut was good and then when we had the flashforward I cried a little inside. It looked good from the front but that back had me clutching my pearls and gasping like a 50s housewife.

0:57 I try my best to go to my professional hairstylist (in USA), but lately due to the cost of living I’ve been going to the local hair school! It’s much more affordable and helpful for the students to get all kinds of experience 😊
My family has even done this and in a hairstylist I said I’d rather them do that if they can’t afford me at the time then going to a chain salon given I do work with them but even then they sometimes can’t I definitely wish I had more people while I was in hair school to work on!
About 15 years ago, my grandma wanted to treat me after I cooked the thanksgiving and Christmas dinners one year. Effectively taking over the job my grandma had done for decades. She treated me to haircut and style and a manicure. This was a place she'd been to for many years and never had a problem. I don't know what was in their bird brains that day, but my waist long dark blonde hair, was fried yellow and chopped like a 3rd grader did it. To top it off, I got a fungal infection from their manicure products. That's when I swore off salons. But I did my research by the ton before I opened up a tub of bleach and bought hair scissors. I've only ever followed haircut tuts and never used anything beyond a 20vol to bleach it. I also do my own acrylics and manicures now too. This was a loooong time ago and I made many mistakes along the way. Including the sneeze that took me from waist length hair to just under the chin length. Do research. Ask the dumb questions and above all... DON'T trust the salespeople at Sally's. They upsell 1st and worry about your hair 2nd.

Absolutely LOVE your channel! I grew up the youngest out of 7 kids and being a girl with three older sisters that went to cosmetology school I was their “model” aka Ginny pig. Oh my goodness I had the shortest of hair way before Twiggy became popular so short I felt compelled to wear a soft head band for school pictures so people would know I was a girl. So hair cuts were the norm, I also had perms by them the only thing my mom refused to let them do was to bleach or tint my hair. The stories they told about doing classmates hair that didn’t quite turn out like they thought and having to walk the walk of shame on Monday back into beauty school, yep, their job was to determine how to fix it. And for the most part they gained so much experience trying to fix or reverse their mistakes such a great school to have them do this! Also the stories they would tell of what some people did to save money and how it turned out was hilarious and more so because it wasn’t me that had to wear the mistake for a change. Love you channel, would love to experience a great hair cut by someone that really takes the hair texture, pattern, face shape and color into consideration, you have a phenomenal talent!
I’m in my mid-60’s, live on a small fixed income. During the shutdowns, I started cutting my own hair. My hair has ALWAYS been baby fine, naturally very light blonde and very straight-except for about 15yrs of perms in my 20’s & 30’s..and just in the past 5 years or so, I’m able to get some beautiful scrunch waves that actually stay. I don’t remember the name, but I only do 2 cuts-one at the front, one in back. I’ve gotten a bunch of compliments, HOWEVER, I always stress to people-my hair is very thin and fine-chemo, radiation and Graves Disease didn’t help- but don’t expect the same results on different, thicker hair. I am a dark blond naturally with reddish hue and to go platinum without damage it took 6 months to do it gradually. I kept my hair intact and when I needed a touch up because I have reddish in my hair naturally my Hair stylist would do a bleach wash not to damage my hair that was already bleached.
You are such a sweetheart and I would pay top dollar to have you as my hairdresser! Your clients are very lucky! Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
That first video is why I’m currently a year and a half into growing out almost black (really dark violet) box dye. I want to get highlights to blend away my grays and there’s no way I could possibly bleach through all the layers of dye I have now.
The problem with the ponytail technique is that most people want to keep their hair, like a kind of souvenir, that's why they cut above the band. It's psychological. They should try with two hair bands on each ponytail and cut in the middle. So many mistakes could be avoided...
I actually feel sorry for the second girl. Her hair could have been so beautiful if she had added moisture to it, like you said. The back of her head, omg! I hate when people cut their hair dry and in pig tails...... so bad!!😢😢
My mom bought me a Garnier nutrisse lightening kit. It says something in the ingredient list about a 40 something. Not touching it!! Bought some bond Bar lightener. 20 volume. Worked out really well and after a nice bonding treatment afterwards, feels great. Toned it with manic panic snow something and it's a great platinum blonde as safely as as I could manage on my own.
Absolutely NO HATE toward anyone who does their own hair HOWEVER, if you are going from black to a lighter color, it’s worth saving up some money for at least that FIRST.transition by a hairdresser. Then you can maintain it hopefully on your own going forward. I went from black, box color years ago to blonde again, and it took several processes by my hairdresser before I got to where I wanted it to be. It’s takes a long time to strip all that dark hair color out of the hair (without killing the hair) and is honestly worth spending the extra to do it right the first time.
Oh dear. The first vid I think some color theory happened. The purple did something on what got bleached. Second one had beautiful long hair. Could have had a 'I'm so done with this long hair!' moment. Third video buy a wig. You can get a decent white or platinum blonde for under $100 USD. It does appear they all learned something in the end. ❤
Before trying your hair at home try going to a beauty school that offers services. Much cheaper than a salon and much better than trying at home. 1st girl) Why not try a round or two of color remover before you start to bleach your black hair at home? 2nd girl) She looked really cute after the first round of cutting. Might needed to find someone to help with the back but it’s better than almost scalping yourself. 3rd girl) Not sure how she thought she could go from black to ice blonde hair with one bleach but at least she decided to pay the salon price without making her hair even worse.
Check out the butterfly ponytail haircut. You put one ponytail in the front that works out for your bangs and then you put the second ponytail high on top of the head at your crown.
@@hair-buddha I did do a mistake, well not so much a mistake. I have 2 beautiful streaks of silver hair on each side of my head.
