How did you know that you’re overheating? Does the EX -L have a temperature gauge because mine doesn’t? I have a 2013 Civic lx sedan 1.8L and my car threw a check engine light code P0128 Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature). I didn’t see a CEL on your dash
no there is no temp gauge but occasionally the water temp light would turn on when driving for a while, which was a symptom of the thermostat starting to give out, never threw a code but maybe i swapped it out before it threw a code out
Hey sorry where did you get the thermostat from? Also I’m not sure if that would help with mine bc the temperature warning light just started blinking on my 2014 Honda Civic but I already checked the coolant and it’s full but I read it might be the same thing happening but I’m not sure if I can keep driving it on the meantime or not. Thanks for the video btw it helped a lot too.
i ordered an oem thermostat from ebay! it might be your thermostat, bad thermostats that are shut closed usually have full coolant, but since it’s shut when the engine heats up, there is no coolant coming in which makes it overheat causing your temperature light to go off, also i changed the temperature sensor too as a just incase because if it was faulty it’d be sending readings to ur ecu that it’s overheating when it’s really not
Do you usually let car warm up for few minutes before driving? Mechanic told me taking off right away can possibly lead to overheating? I didn’t think we had to warm up modern cars
sorry for the dumb question, but do you have to drain your coolant to replace the thermostat? i just put new coolant in, so i aint tryna throw that shit away Dx
you don’t have to drain the whole thing out but when you take off that hose some will definitely spill you can let that fall out then top it off rather than draining the whole thing, i just drained the whole thing cuz that coolant wasn’t changed in like 3 years
this was a great video ☝️
thanks :)
Thank you bro, keep up the good work 🎉

Oh ok
Mine never flashed the water temp light, I was about to leave for work and the CEL popped on.
Great video btw
@@jamesnall569 thank you 🙌

Great video bro. Made it super easy to follow along. Im going to fix my 2013 honda civic tomorrow 💪 how much did each part cost?
thanks bro ! temp sensor was about $20, thermostat was at $40-$50 i can’t remember, coolant was about $20
Hi. How do you know when its at operating temp? Its doesnt have a temp gauge. Just a cold light n hot light.

i personally didn’t before but i do now especially with the weather getting cooler
Hi bro, mi Civic make a hissing sound after I use the A/C, what you think that could be?
Cool video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much bro

I have a Honda Civic LX 2012 I changed both sensor , upper and lower but still engine light.🙇 Maybe you know what the next to do.thanks🙋

How long till the permanent code went off ?
My emissions code cleared on my dash and I fixed the thermostat and sensor but it doesn’t pass the smog check do to permanent code
My temperature gauge is saying that it 60 degrees outside when it’s in the 100’s could that be the temp sensor or sum else?
that might be something else, not sure what exactly, but the coolant temp sensor senses the coolant specifically
That is controlled by an ambient temperature sensor
@@cmalarkey3721 yeah I think it might be I looked under the car and the ambient sensor is holding on by a thread Preciate that man
Is radiator sensor the same on the engine?
Hi, What is the part number of the temperature sensor?
hello it’s #SU10432
🔥🔥
🤯
F draining the radiator, rip the thermostat out stuff the new one in you’ll only lose a bit of coolant
You video guys talk too much
