I hope they'd produce a movie about this on Netflix. Filipino Stories during the American colonial period. Thank you Washington Post. Mabuhay ang mga Pinoy na gumawa nito. I hope we all learn from History. Still, greetings of Love and peace for all, from the people they called "savages" before.
Unfortunately, this reflects the international standard of European / US culture at that time. It took centuries & decades to develop the concept of respect for all races and cultures, a work in progress or regression in 21st century
While it is horrific to see how the pseudoscience of racism infected anthropology 100 years ago, social scientists repented and heavily critiqued their own discipline, debunking the concept of race also, and shined much light on stories like this documenting the history of such errors. Xenophobia and ethnocentrism are better understood today, especially by cultural anthropologists. But we still have a long way to go educating the general population. This project is very helpful and should be used in schools.
Heartbreaking story. But, thank you for bringing this to light and sharing with the greater public. Imperative for future generations to know Filipino and non Filipino.
THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 GOVERNMENT SHOULD FILE A CASE TO REPATRIATE THOSE FILIPINO REMAINS BACK HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭❗ THEY DESERVE TO BE RETURN BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 AND THEY DESERVE TO BE BURIED HERE AND NOR IN ANY FOREIGN COUNTRY ❗SUCH AS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 🇺🇸

There is more deeper than this. More deeper if you'll gonna dig deeper from our past.
A sad commentary on American "exceptionalism" and its inherent racism. We owe apologies to so many.

Horrific. Deception, freezing people to desth, theft of body parts? The ones calling others savages were projecting.

A beautifully told story. Yes, who were the real savages?
the people who brought them to that exhibit
As a Filipino, this is heartbreaking. I hope that they can bring the others back home.
as a filipino from the kankana-ey tribe my self, this is heartbreaking. I hope we all find peace and nothing this sort should happen again.
Such powerful storytelling in American history
As an Igorot, this story was really heartbreaking to us😢
So can someone give me the summary of the story?...
😢 sad story 💔 but thanks for bringing this to the light
As a Bisaya, I'm proud of the two Visayan girls who stood up to their oppressors. Yes, oppressors because that was what they were.
Learned the history of the St. Louis World’s Fare 1904 after it was featured in Alamat’s music video for Kasmala.

Janna might be the reincarnated soul of Maura. Since she was born in the US. That's why her longing for the body is very much a part of her mission
