This isn't Alpha Primus, but one of Belisarius Cawl's secret psyker projects that involved using Thousand Sons Geneseed to create something not entirely Primaris or Space Marine. I hope it's obvious this isn't canon, just some fun little homebrew lore for this miniature.
Honestly the armor and pauldrons really makes it look like a pre-great crusade armour for the old Knights of Caliban, who had ancient power armor to fight warp creatures.
I just recently learned about loyalist Thousand Sons in the Siege of Cthonia and I'm all over it now 😂 Basically after the burning of Prospero, some 3000 Fifth Fellowship members fled the planet and eventually made their way to Terra. Malcador pardoned them and Dorn sent them to reinforce Cthonia and fight besides Imperial Fists and the Shattered Legions. Starting to build a loyalist 30k force but for 40k. Finally I can have some traitors and not feel bad about it 😂 And bruh great work with this mini, especially with the armor texture. The color choices for armor, scales and cloak work very well together!
The Horus Heresy books have been amazing in their ability to add more depth of grey to the conflict. Ahriman's books do a great job of mentioning how not everyone was on board with Magnus's plans, even those who fell to chaos. Damn, a whole army? That's awesome, mate. Thank you so much! Honestly, I was quite certain the armor wasn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but it's amazing knowing some people enjoyed it 😅
@@stevenshea990 Siege of Cthonia confirms that those of the Fifth Fellowship who survived the siege eventually were integrated to Garrius' Imperial Fists force (as did some Cthonia-born inductii). Too bad GW retconned the origins of Exorcists chapter, as it used to be Imperial Fists, it would've made a lot of sense that those loyalist Thousand Sons' geneseed were used to create Exorcists then later on.
It’s heavily implied, at least- and several Primaris chapters were implied to have been Cawl ignoring Gulliman's command not to use the gene-lines of Traitor Legions, iirc. Basically, there's a lot of wriggle-room there. …and on a side-note, I am incredibly annoyed that part of the recent lore for the Blood Ravens was 'strip away that which made them interesting (the fact that Librarians could take leadership roles in the Chapter)@@stevenshea990

Leave it to Cawl to whip up a LOYALIST Thousand Sons, that kooky Archmagos! 😂 On the seriously, tho, great kitbash, I'm digging everything about this guy's vibe. Also, I like the ever-so-subtle nod to Magnus the Red's lone eye!
Cawl's ability to live inside the moments of pure insanity and pure genius is my favorite part. Not to mention the way writers use Cawl to casually drop impactful lore hints. Thank you so much mate! Great catch on the eye, honesty wasn't sure if anyone was going to pick up on the reference without the direct mention of it.
My dude just shows up on my recommended, puts out some high quality painting, kitbashing, commentary, and videography, and instantly gets another sub. You rock dude this project was clean!

That is extremely cool, did you consider doing overlapping symbols instead of just random scratches for the non edge highlights? Wouldn't work for every project, but for word bearers or thousand sons maybe grey knights and some iron warriors as well as any chaos sorcerers or any of the more mystical librarians (white scars, space furries, exorcists)
Incredible, the NMM you did was great! I’ve seen others do a super light dry brush of silver to give a bit of shine and sell it as metal. Maybe you could try that too!
It takes a ton of restraint to not include the legions colors on the armor or model when making something intended to be from that legions geneseed. However you nailed the figure without the need for it. Your justification for it in lore is entirely believable and I appreciate seeing your thoughts process!

The idea and concept is a very good idea. Thinking outside of the box is great. The model has more of a sisters of battle silhouette than a space marine. It’s very slender for a chunky marine. But great job.
Turned out very cool, but i think you should’ve replaced the shoulder pads. I converted this same model as a Primaris ancient for my dark angels and relaxed the non Lion shoulder pad.
I saw homebrew and got happy lol. I'm currently working on my first mini + first soldier in my homebrew chapter. Basically The Primarch, Malachai Thrax, was slain in battle but not before having two sons. Both would inherit the legion before them but the younger of the two would fall to chaos during the Horus Heresy. Lots of fighting, brutal, bloody, but also heart wrenching as it's literally brothers, friends, and comrades fighting. In the end the brothers fight near one of their old hangout spots and the younger of the two has a Darth Vader "Coming back to the light" end. The legion you ask? Bane of Tartarus with the traitor side of Sons of Tartarus (Split into 4 warbands named after the Greek sons of Tartarus)
That's awesome 😄 Sounds like you put a great deal of thought into it. Having so much lore before you get started on them is always a great help as you're able to slowly bring the vision you have in mind to the surface. Keep making awesome lore for as many of your units as you can, it will make them even more special.

Honestly, while I like it, I felt it still invokes more Stormcast than Space Marine. maybe a few extra bits like a pouch or two or some grenades, maybe adding a tubing/pipeline or two? also taking off the exposed lower leg and replacing it with a more Space Marine-like lower leg
While I enjoy Age of Sigmar much more than 40k, I fear that with the "triumphant return" of the Old World, this wizardry setting and game may be gone. Of course, I'd rather die than become square based... or I have a chance to convert everything in my fantasy Collection to 40k! This will save both the round bases and the grimdark spirit of Warhammer, which I love so much!
Honestly not sometimes you should worry about, age of sigmar is doing great. Old world will likely be a much more niche game. Similar to necromunda in 40k

So i used the same base mini inspired by this video to make a thousand son sorcerer, but still chaotic. Let me tell you: adding actual thousand son pauldrons makes adding the backpack a lot harder -_-
I did hear that the rule set is a lot more stable. I think for how young AoS is, it's in a great place. The underworld boxes blow my mind, shocked 40k doesn't have something similar. There are indeed some great books for AoS, I think the last one I listened to was a short story about a Stormcast trapped in a Tzeentch labyrinth.
In Belisarius Cawl: The Great Work, it's very heavily implied that Alpha Primus has geneseed from every legion. When they look through a dimensional mirror, there's 20 alpha primuses on the other side. He's a representation of Cawls arrogance

Also Blood Ravens are all but confirmed to be loyalist T-Sons, and Minotaurs to be loyalist(ish) Iron Warriors.

Looks great but it'd be nice to see it next to some other Space Marines in order to get a proper idea of how it fits in terms of scale and proportions
