I grew up in this area and we used to go to the Potholes all the time. Later in the year the water flow goes way down and the water temp goes up so late summer is the time to visit!!

You did a fantastic job of capturing what it's like at the potholes, thank you.

@@avicreates I do currently live on the island and I've spent quite a bit of time at the potholes lately. I find it very difficult to take pictures that reflect just how breathtaking it can be, and I liked how you acknowledged at the start how hard it is to capture on film. Then you went and did such an amazing job of capturing on film... :)

I went to the potholes recently, the abandoned deertrail resort was very cool.

Yea , too bad they locked it off, it’s such a cool place to explore.

This is a great video. It really shows the beauty of the Potholes. I was just curious if you both went to the top where you’ll see the ruins of Deer Trail Resort and you can look over and see the raging water from above. I hope you didn’t miss it. Also for people reading there are trails in the park and easy access to swimming.
    Cheers!

It’s T’Souke Nation. I’ll spell it phonetically and hopefully the readers will understand how it’s pronounced. Here we go: it’s Ts-suke-ee Nation. The T is almost silent but not quite. And it’s beautiful at the Potholes! Your video is fabulous, it really showcases the beauty of the Potholes and area. The entire island is beautiful!

Hey, thanks for the info, I truly appreciate your input here. If ever you are willing to shed more light on T’Souke Nation or assist in making an episode let me know. I’d be more that happy to get the locals involved.

@@avicreatesI really appreciate the offer but there’s people here that have a greater knowledge of Sooke’s history than I. I’ve been in Sooke for 13 years and LOVE it, but I’ve lived on the southern island in my entire life. I’m eighth generation islander. If you’re interested in some other fabulous spots to check out let me know and I can give you a list of some of the islands outdoor gems.
      Happy travels!

Enjoy your time here, it’s beautiful. No Sasquatch, just bears, pick up some bear spray at Canadian tire if You are worried. Other wise, take lots of pics for memories. Like and sub.
