They are both super professional on their own channels. Every now and then you'll see tiny little blips where it comes to the surface, but if you didn't know better you wouldn't even clock it. I think them doing this each week is a perfect way for them to get all the weird out that they've had to stuff deep down to do the serious work. It gives me life every single week 😁

Oh my gosh. In Australia as a teen we had clearasil come to out school! They put all the girls in the hall and gave us mini packs with the three samples. Those sample packs were given out EVERYWHERE,haha. Thanks for unlocking such a weird memory. Felt so normal at the time haha
I immediately have the ad in my head, in German, it went: "Klärasil Hautklärer gegen Pickel", and now that I speak and understand English it sounds even more ridiculous. Stinky stuff it was... must have been in the 1980s, though.
90s kid checking in. I had a Caboodle (mine had a mirror!), used Noxema daily (for the full effect, rinse with cool water), had a variety of butterfly clips, still use that Maybelline mascara, and knew that the Topsy Tail would never work on my thick hair.
Up until a year ago I still had the benders from the 80's. I had to chuck them because I was missing some and my dogs had eaten them. I had them for 37 years. The exact same ones you had. I am actually surprised that they still heated up and didn't catch fire. They are just flexi rods you can heat.
Up until a couple of days ago, I had some. I hadn't used them in about 20 years so I finally donated them. Hopefully, they aren't dangerous because I don't want anyone to get hurt. But most people wouldn't want them now anyway.
As an 80s kid, this video was a blast from the past! I remember many of these commercials. My mom always had a tub of Noxema in the fridge in the summer, we used it on sunburns. Also had a chuckle at the Topsy Tail being for "all hair types" as they only show white girls with stick-straight hair😅... these commercials reveal so much about how things have changed/ are changing!
I love both of your videos separately, but seriously, HOW ARE YOU TWO SO FUNNY TOGETHER?!?!? Gonna have to remember not to watch these while I’m doing eye makeup again because I’m crying laughing 😂❤
What I remember most from the late 70s/early 80s was Love’s baby soft perfume. Everyone at school wore it. My parents hated it and I was forbidden to wear it. 😂
I had the full Love's collection in 4th grade and color coordinated the scents to my outfits...dude who drove carpool loved it when I hopped in the car every morning, oblivious to the strength of the 10 or so squirts I used.
Love's Baby Soft ad Jovan Musk for Women were in every girl's vanity in the early 80's. I remember using Maybelline Great Lash before drill team competitions too.
I love how as the video goes on there are MORE and MORE layers of accessories and clothing 😂😂 It’s like when you go on animal crossing and try on all your new items at once 😭😂
I remember these juicy lip oils, from around 1985. They were in glass containers with a roller ball. Somehow my sister would get the ball out and eat the gloss. My mom took the lip oil from my sister at this point. But putting it on top of the fridge, she only just got a chair and got it back.😂😂 So gross to me, but it did have a peach flavor that smelled amazing. Loved you twins today just takes me to a happy place!❤
I live in FL and people would get sunburns all the time, I remember hearing Noxema being used. You're right that sounds like a terrible idea but we didn't know back then.
I used Noxema Pads for everything as a teen, breakouts, make up removal, sunburns, they burned like hell n i thought that meant they were "working"🤦♀️😂
This is my first Welsh twins video and I had so much fun but if someone were to ask me to summarize the video I honestly have no idea what I’d say because I don’t know what I watched it was so chaotic 😂
My mum made a homemade Topsy Tail from a coat hanger which savagely tore out our hair when used. Tears aside, we rocked the twisted ponytail, despite having bald patches...

Awww you missed the 70s Bonne Bell trend - you'd get your mom to get you the big chubby one on a lanyard and then at recess, you'd show off by...EATING THE LIP BALM. Not licking it off, biting the product. I never got to do it, my mom was not going to waste money like that, and she stopped buying cherry chapstick when i tried it. Causes terrible "trots" but i still kinda want to eat a big watermelon lip balm... and i had the kaboodle and the benders!
I fully remember eating the Bonne BelI lip balm!! I didn't eat enough for GI distress (thank god), I just remember seeing my tooth marks in the big chunk of grease, feeling queasy and quietly putting it away!
I used to do the topsy tail all the time. We didn’t buy it because we also thought it was to expensive for a thin piece of plastic. We made ours out of a coat hanger we cut up. 😂
My mom did my hair like that all the time in the 90s. She’d just flip it with her hands. When the topsy tail first started advertising, she found it outrageous that people would pay so much for something you could do manually or with things you already had at home (like your hanger). All of my friends assumed we must have had one so that was kinda cool for that first year or so it was popular.
I feel so old right now. I didn't have the Benders because they were expensive and I was a child, but in a girls' magazine they had a tip for achieveing the same look by making rolls from alumium foil as a substite, then warming them up (in your hair) with a hairdryer, while wearing a plastic bag over your head. I tried that once, it turned out horrible, and I stopped following trends.
@@arareanddifferenttune3130 Actually, my hair didn't fry. It did pretty much nothing, just came out of the rolls looking as flat as it was going in, but somehow messy at the same time. I tried this once, and probably kept the diy toaster oven on for too short a time. I then decided to accept my hair as is.

And I cry for the loss of Dr Pepper lipsmackers. I’ve used them for 50 years! And Noxema: college dorm room, early 1980s, pre makeup wipes, we used Noxema and a tissue if we didn’t want to go down the hall to the communal bathroom to wash our faces. That smell triggers memories.

I had those benders curlers as a young girl! I can literally smell them in my mind’s…nose? Lol They had a very peculiar smell. I also, obviously, had a caboodle. It was teal on the bottom and the lid was pink. I had it until I got married in 2000!
I'm downsizing my apartment. I still have my first caboodle but I'm going to donate it/or they can throw it away, but I'm taking a picture of it for my memory book. I know that sounds silly. I no longer use it because I have a newer one that I keep by my bed. With make-up wipes for those days I'm just too exhausted to clense.
This is the first video I’ve watched with both Robert and James, and I don’t know why I didn’t watch it sooner. The section where they’re trying out the benders and Roberts side of the screen slowly disappears downwards has me absolutely in stitches 😂
Oh no! Not the Noxema!!! Omg, I about died when Robert put it on his mouth.😂 Dude, nothing broke me out worse than Noxema. This rabbit hole is totally tripping me out, man!🤣❤❤❤❤❤❤
I sleepwalk really bad and I always write stuff on paper that I find in the house and it doesn't make sense. I watch these vids all the time. I have written more than once about the Welsh twins and my hubby is always like 'what/who is the Welsh twins?' Sleepwalking is so scary. It's not like that spookyboo lady from tiktok. Even tho she's cute and funny. It's like... I see my hubby on the couch and the lights and TV are on and we are laughing and talking and I'll turn around to tell him something and all of a sudden everything is dark and lifeless and I'm alone in my living room. It's terrifying. I love these lighthearted videos so much.
Caboodle’s were much larger back in the day, and they were for every day make up use, and on the go or for travel! I had a purple one with swirl pearl white in the purple. It was beautiful lol I think I had it for 15 years actually lol love you guys.
Mine is purple with a fuschia opener. I still have mine and used it for storage. But I'm moving and don't have room for it. I'm going to take a picture of it though. It was my teen years.
I’ve been using lipsmackers, cotton candy, since high school…I’m 44 now and still use it. We have caboodles by us, and they aren’t expensive. I’d LOVE to send you one! I use one for my tackle box 😂
I used similar products to "Benders" in the 90s but they weren't hot & you slept in them & would wake up with the bounciest curls that would last for ages. I used the more my dancing as it was WAY quicker and easier than a curling iron and we needed to have ringlet curls that were tight. People still use these foam rods to curl their hair overnight to this day.
I was born in 1989 too so I love all of the niche references you make 😂 I had loads of Shag bands, lip smackers, butterfly clips and those springs with jewels in. I definitely got Britney Spears curious for Christmas too 😂 x
OMG - what's funnier. The Benders commercial or watching Robert put a pizza cutter 🍕in the caboodle! At least that's what it looked like to me. I was too lazy to ever use a bender. I just got a cheap perm for that curl in jr. high. My hair is still mad at me for getting all those perms in the 80s.
If you can believe it, I still have my very first Caboodles case! LOL Its a smaller one (I got a larger one, similar to what the Twins had in this video, a few years later) that I still use to store all of my earrings. Then I used the larger one to keep my makeup & nail polishes organized. 🙂 Also, my mom's favorite mascara continues to be Great Lash! No matter which other mascara brands I give her to try, whenever she uses those up, she will go right back to her Great Lash! 😅
Thank you for the laughs this morning! I was diagnosed with skin cancer last week and having a rough time with it. Your video helped me take my mind off it! Love you both!
I had Benders and Caboodle in the 80’s. However, I never rode the subway with either one. I also used Great Lash and Aqua Net. The 80’s were so much fun!!
Marcus’s editing should win an Emmy! Hilarious cutting Robert down lower and lower on the screen…I was dying laughing! Also, I need James and Robert singing the “Benders” jingle as my ringtone.
“tried to catch you there” “I stayed…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣” omg the captions are everything. this channel, their individual channels, and cc suarez’s channel are my favorite channels hands down
I went to the hardware store and bought a "new concept in tools." A "for her" (pink themed) tackle box bc the Caboodle was expensive and too small. LOL I had a topsy tail. It hurt to use. Does anyone remember the two strips together that you put your hair in between, rolled and curled up? We collected Bonne Bell Lip Smackers in the late 70s. There were the small tubes and the HUGE tubes with the hard to find flavors. We traded them like bubblegum cards. Every time a new set'd come out, we'd rush to get them. Huge jars of Noxema in our house. Cleanser, moisturizer, sunburn cream and VapoRub Lite. LOL That model was so hot at the time. Everyone wanted that "girl next door look."
I was SO JEALOUS of Rebecca Gayheart's curly hair when that commercial came out! That was when I really gave up on my spiral perm cuz the curl always just fell out in a matter of weeks and it was never going to look as good as her hair anyway. Looking back, I think I was 9 or 10 when I started getting perms😳 Crazy times!
I went to a charter school with a terrible uniform policy, so our accessories were the only way we could really express ourselves. However, because we went to a school with _ridiculous_ policies, all of us students were little brats. My school restricted silly bandz because trading them disrupted classes, and we were only allowed to wear one per wrist (and asymmetry was trendy, so that pissed some people off.) They completely banned those "save the boobies" charity bracelets because, uh, we were middle schoolers. It was mostly the edgy kids and class clown who wore them. I was a little priss who thought it too crass lol.
Banana clips were huge in the 80s too but even though I had thick hair, I could never get them to look right! I remember that Benders advert though! 🇬🇧
I introduced my sister to the twins in June when I was visiting. She actually has her Kaboodle that she bought back in the early 90's! She keeps her hair accessories, brushes and combs in it.
I’m having a really really bad time at the minute. And you two can still make me laugh and smile when not much else does. Thank you for the laughs, I needed it. ❤
I like how Robert had to clarify that he was speaking as the author of the article so we didn't get confused and think he was an 11 year old girl in 2001.
Omg I had a caboodles case when I was a kid 😄 and my dad would call it a tackle box! 😂 I didn’t know that Vannah White carried a tackle box and that inspired these! I recently (at least a year ago) got one from Ulta and it’s super cute! 😁
Perms were popular in the United States in 1981 where I lived, the Midwest. I was in the third grade. My mom said that I was going to love it. I cried when I saw my hair. I didn’t wash my hair & left my curls in tact. Legally Blond hadn’t been released, yet.
I would love to see you guys make a video of like...everyday stuff you like, foods, etc, and talk about the things you like better in the US vs England
i've not been watching Robert consistently. his videos pop on my feed from time to time. i've only been watching recently since his take on brands are kind of fresh to me. he gives background on how they started, where he thinks they started to decline etc. which is something I like seeing. for real, I thought one of you was recorded first and then overlayed after. only to see that Robert has that line on his eyebrow.
My mom once didn’t know that they STAY and she was being a goofball and smeared it all over her face just to make us kids laugh. She has the photo my dad took of her still up on her mantle 😂

I no longer use it because I have a newer one that I keep by my bed. With make-up wipes for those days I'm just too exhausted to clense.
I cant find the video! Do you know what the title is cause when i go to look for it it doesnt come up :)
@@janejones7638didn't Marie Kondo suggest taking photos of sentimental items if you get rid of them. So definitely not silly in my opinion
I wish I still had my old ones!

This rabbit hole is totally tripping me out, man!🤣❤❤❤❤❤❤
Not Robert at 6:23 casually putting the pizza cutter in the caboodle 🤣😂
Perfect timing, this tropical storm is taking forever to get here. Much love from San Diego.
Stay safe! 🖤🖤🖤
@@janejones7638Mine, too! Purple with the pink clasp. It's full of skincare & makeup samples. 😊
Omg I had a purple one with the white swirls too! Took that thing on every high school band trip from 1989-1993 lol. Sigh... good times 😅😅
I’ve been using lipsmackers, cotton candy, since high school…I’m 44 now and still use it. We have caboodles by us, and they aren’t expensive. I’d LOVE to send you one! I use one for my tackle box 😂
So strange that the two combined have way less followers than each individually. It's all so immensely enjoyable!🎉❤
The curious perfume was definitely a highlight of my childhood 💕
James does look like everyone's mum in that wig, also gives me every gen x first girlfriend in the 90s vibes too.
😂😂😂
James retracting his face when Robert whipped out that fan 😂
My grandmother swore by noxema for sunburned skin. It was made for those with eczema originally
I still use Noxema for sunburns.
I was born in 1989 too so I love all of the niche references you make 😂
I had loads of Shag bands, lip smackers, butterfly clips and those springs with jewels in.
Looked like a pizza cutter to me, too.
He needs his pizza cutter. How else will he ✨️cut the crease✨️
@nessanixe7286 Yes! Now, it all makes sense. Lol.
@@nessanixe7286LOLLL!! That is HILARIOUS
If you can believe it, I still have my very first Caboodles case! LOL Its a smaller one (I got a larger one, similar to what the Twins had in this video, a few years later) that I still use to store all of my earrings. Then I used the larger one to keep my makeup & nail polishes organized. 🙂
Also, my mom's favorite mascara continues to be Great Lash! No matter which other mascara brands I give her to try, whenever she uses those up, she will go right back to her Great Lash! 😅
I still have mine too. I'm getting rid of it though because I'm moving to a small place. I'm taking a picture of it for the memories.
I still have mine, too, after more than 30 years! It's one of the giant ones made with thick, heavy plastic. I store beauty samples in it. :)
I loved mine! It pretty much fell apart from being used so much. I was devastated when I finally let it go. Spangly giant ‘angel’ sticker and all. 😂
Thank you for the laughs this morning! I was diagnosed with skin cancer last week and having a rough time with it. Your video helped me take my mind off it! Love you both!
I hope all is well with you! ❤
I had Benders and Caboodle in the 80’s. However, I never rode the subway with either one. I also used Great Lash and Aqua Net. The 80’s were so much fun!!
Using the wrong hair tie for the Topsy Tail to work 😂 I was born in '84 and every item brought out memories. I think my mom still has her Benders!
Marcus’s editing should win an Emmy! Hilarious cutting Robert down lower and lower on the screen…I was dying laughing!
Also, I need James and Robert singing the “Benders” jingle as my ringtone.
“tried to catch you there” “I stayed…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣” omg the captions are everything. this channel, their individual channels, and cc suarez’s channel are my favorite channels hands down
Holy shit I remember thinking the Noxema girl was so beautiful and wishing I looked like her!! You guys are unlocking some memories today.
Ashton is the hero we don’t deserve 😍
Y’all are hilarious. Thank you Marcus and Ashton for bringing them to us ❤
0:47 ohhhhh .. robert’s expression has killed me.
I would use my caboodle for dance competitions - it could hold makeup, hair supplies, bandaids, etc. Honestly so handy!
Marcus with the editing is my favorite part of Sunday!
I went to a charter school with a terrible uniform policy, so our accessories were the only way we could really express ourselves. However, because we went to a school with _ridiculous_ policies, all of us students were little brats.
My school restricted silly bandz because trading them disrupted classes, and we were only allowed to wear one per wrist (and asymmetry was trendy, so that pissed some people off.)
They completely banned those "save the boobies" charity bracelets because, uh, we were middle schoolers. It was mostly the edgy kids and class clown who wore them. I was a little priss who thought it too crass lol.
Palettes weren’t really think until the naked palettes. It really changed how we buy eye shadow
these longer videos are giving me life and eternal laughter at having more time to watch them interact with each other
Banana clips were huge in the 80s too but even though I had thick hair, I could never get them to look right! I remember that Benders advert though! 🇬🇧
Omg totally missed opportunity to flash a reference to James’s first “man’s skincare” routine rinsing his face moment!!
BANNED Ive banned that clip from ever being used again 😂
@@JamesWelsh love it 💜💜💜
I introduced my sister to the twins in June when I was visiting.
Oh gosh the juicy tubes!! Nostalgia
03:00 how did robert shrink like that 😂
As a 43 year old woman i have rocked every single one of these, successfully 😂😊❤!!!!
I LOVED noxzema lol it kept my skin so nice as an early hormonal teen. Now I have to repurchase 🤣 thanks guys.
i've not been watching Robert consistently. his videos pop on my feed from time to time. i've only been watching recently since his take on brands are kind of fresh to me. he gives background on how they started, where he thinks they started to decline etc. which is something I like seeing.
for real, I thought one of you was recorded first and then overlayed after. only to see that Robert has that line on his eyebrow.
Covergirl Outlast was the “first” liquid lipstick. It advertised that it held through eating. It is to this day my second favorite lipstick.
My mom once didn’t know that they STAY and she was being a goofball and smeared it all over her face just to make us kids laugh. She has the photo my dad took of her still up on her mantle 😂
We rarely have CoverGirl in the Philippines but we had Max Factor Lipfinity launching around late 90's I believe. It tasted like rubber.🤣
The twin chaos is just balm for my soul.
I'm Soo early! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday ☀️🐊🌺 love from North Central FL ❤❤❤❤ Fyi I thought those "benders" we're going to make all my 3rd grade dreams come true 😂❤
Just a few for more content ideas:
The golden age or roaring 29’s- 1920s (flapper girls)
Edwardian era - downtown Abby vibes
It could add two more additions To the playlist. I watch these over and over and get the giggles every time.
Love you guys. From

Omg I love this! I used to rock butterfly clips, I was 17 in 1999! I remember before butterfly clips there were Lady Lovelilocks squirrel clips with coloured hair tails! Anyone remember these? & hair mascara!!
The butterfly clips and springs with diamonds takes me baaaaaaack
Yes! Dr. Pepper lipsmacker, yum 😂 I also had lemon lime flavor. 🍋
They still sell more recent caboodles in USA, I see them in ulta and places like tj Maxx all the time
You are both amazing but I’m coming to realise just how valuable Ashton is and just how hard the editing must be…… Poor Marcus. Acrylic was the funniest part. 😂
The butterfly clips gave me such nostalgic vibes, I had forgotten all about these little beauties 😍
I used to have a topsy tail! I thought it was the coolest thing back in the day lol! I have a long week coming up I have been dreading, thanks for the giggles to start the week off right. 💜🖤
I follow this hair channel where the mother mainly does her daughter's hair, with occasional mature styles. Anyway, she does topsy tails all the time.
