I live in LV and tradeshows are all I do. If doing roving work for a “host/interviewer” it’s R6 II on a ronin rs3 pro with 2 lenses, rf 14-35 and rf 28-70 , dji mic, and a cobra II monopod (dock the ronin on the monopod for talking heads, detach for ronin b-roll). If booth based and working for one client, I’ll bring sticks and an amaran 60d. In a crowded show like NAB you don’t have reliable space for tripod legs. my one man band setup
Great job! Video and audio are on point! Exactly as they should be. We shoot with the C70 and the 18-80. Sennheiser 416. I make a great living with this setup.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. SO soothing and happy to have quiet audio where the BG noise is firmly in the background where it belongs. As always, wonderful presenter.
I really enjoyed this video! I was curious to see how everything was done, and this really answered my questions. Thank you for sharing this with us, and all of the videos from NAB!
Two Canon R7 with a Sigma 18-35 for A Cam, and an EF 24-105 for B cam. Tascam DR40 for audio, running wired lavs to avoid RF interference (gun-shy from jobs where anything wireless would let you down). Just me shooting, one host, and we pray the hotel wifi is fast enough to get footage back to an editor we contract for the two shows a year we attend. This year. I'll try uploading from a USB SSD through my phone. Maybe that will upload faster.
Content on the show videos was great. I think I saw all of them. On the technical side I think use of a face(Obie) lights would help the look. I notice a few of the principals wore glasses which would make placement more difficult. I do not shoot conventions , but the camera(R5C)generates proxy files on the 2nd card.
That Sennheiser EW-DP wireless system sounds pretty amazing. What lavalier microphones were you guys using throughout the show? I noticed it's perfect for cutting out background noise especially in conventions like this. I saw you guys at the show and agree this set up was perfect for quickly running around gathering content. Love the BTS overview here.
Great info! Thanks for the peek at your setup and how the C70 helps you keep mobile and fast!

Thank you so much for taking the time to show how you actually work...and not just telling others how they should work. Awesome insight. Well done!
