Budget friendly & very honest guest room makeover in my Copenhagen apartment (Scandi home)

- This room makeover took me 6 months to finish - and I'm still not completely finished. A room and a home is a living process, and because I always choose second hand first, and I DIY pretty much everything - things take time.
I'm very proud to share this process. A lot can be done with patience and a small budget.
The next step in the process is to re-paint the weird door (I'm thinking blue or green?), restore the window - both with linseed oil paint, and I also want to swap the door handles to the kind that were original to the building, from 1924.
A Scandinavian home can look many different ways, and I hope that you like mine!

What I appreciate about your videos is that they are about inspiration over aspiration. Influencer culture is rooted in an authoritative hierarchy in which an elite class prescribes specific ways of living to "followers" (yikes)--an unsustainable and inherently oppressive paradigm that encourages people to forever aspire for the unattainable. Here, you're sharing your creative life and ways of being, encouraging inspiration and real community. It is imperfect, messy, slow, and resistant to capitalist hustle culture--how BEAUTIFUL! :)

I love the room ! The daybed cover is very cool, and i like that is feels airy, fonctionnal and especially : personnal. That woodfloor is wonderful and makes everything very classy so you had a beautiful canvas to work on but really, I understand so much the neverending struggle of putting a room together so BRAVO !
I even loved the weird door as it is :) but maybe with a contrasting color or a curtain, it will look gorgeous too !

Wish I were there so I could help you paint and move furniture. I love that stuff. You did a fabulous job and it looks so good. I particularly like the reddish striped chair with blue organic fabric on the pillow. That combo is right up my alley.

The weird door is actually quite charming, and it leads to our bedroom - it’s cute but a little unnecessary imo. Uh, some days are like that, we just need to decide that we’re happy and ignore thoughts that are telling us otherwise. Take care 🫶

Thank you! The red/white striped fabric I used for the chair is bought at SelfMade here in Denmark, and the blue/wave fabric that is on the blue pillow in the chair is a scrap piece I got from my family, don’t know where it’s from. 💕
6 months is nothing compared to some of my home projects, ugghh. This turned out great! what did you use to treat the little wooden shelf for records ?
