never push down on the lapping stroke, you’ll make the sole smile at the front. I’ve just done a type 16, 5 and 1/2. Was rough looking, but it’s come up beautifully. Gonna install a stainless or brass tube, inside the rear tote, because there’s always way too much room either side of the screw, which is why almost every Bailey plane, has loose handles sooner or later.💪🥰😆❤️

Some people had no respect for their tool's but if they did we would have nothing to restore to better than new !
