Conductive silver paint to connect poor solderability contacts - glass LCD flex cable repair

I tried silver conductive paint for the first time to connect a wire to a trace on the glass made out of an unknown material.

I used one of these to mod "solder" a chip on my Nintendo Switch that was banned. Gotta say, im pleasantly surprised by the outcome. It was very easy to do, temperature is almost not there and i did use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. Good products for anyone who isn't sure about using a soldering iron/pen on small pins...

Thanks for this video! Do you know if this paint will dry without an oven / heat?

It will cure at ambient temperature, but it will take a lot longer.

hello ! I've just received mine , but I didn't know you needed to dry the paint out in an oven . I want to repair my desktop motherboard traces , is it mandatory to bake my motherboard to dry the conductive paint

Hi, the one I used in the video can dry at room temperature, but it will take at least 10 hours, I used the oven to speed up the process.
Regarding your repair, unless it is a wide trace, it might be hard to repair thin traces with this product, if they are regular copper traces you might want to consider soldering a wire instead.

@@jfaria it a trace for DDR2 , I accidentaly cut the trace , and now I only got one DDR slot working , my mobo has two slots , if I can fix the second I would be able to reach 4GB , I'm stuck to 2GB for now , and there are no DDR2 for desktop at 4GB . the only one I saw on ebay were Chinese

Not convinced it would work on a board with tactile switches that has pressure from pressing hands alot it may break up and cause some trouble even if you could coat over it with hot glue or epoxy it would be destroying the pcb even more

It is somewhat flexible, but you are probably right.
