These are really helpful! Of course, a lot of the times it can depend on your playstyle, but it's always good to hold on to some abilities.. Moral of the story? USE MY BEACONS YOU EGG
Tip: look at wear the enemy ink is at before jumping, try to jump to someone away from the enemy ink and a little bit closer to your spawn than just jumping into battle blindly
This. Especially in solo when you can't communicate with teammates. I only jump in when I know for sure my teammate is in a safe spot or during a crucial push.
Kairow Kuroshi yeah and when you’re about to take the lead in rainkaker and your team is dieing so you just take you’re time to swim there when the teammate holding the rainmaker is about to die and its overtime?
I remember when I first got this game, I was jump camping someone with two other people. that was when they pulled that splashdown trick and promptly squidbagged us all. but hey, I learnt from that and did that move on other people in the c ranks :P
All you have to do to not get killed by a splashdown when jumpcamping is to be do slightly away from where their going to land and then stay under ink. It work's everytime.
You see, the real way you defeat a jump camper is the following: Step #1: Use a "Gal." Weapon Step #2: GaL Is LAg SpeLleD BacKWarDs Step #3: Success Step #4: IS That how Splatoon Works? Maybe. Awesome video Vasko! :D
These were some epic tips! I’m one of those people that Super Jump a lot, and will die too much. There was some tips on here, that I knew like Splashdowns, and Splat Bombs. But that was pretty much it! I’ll make sure to use these gear changes as well! **AYYY!!**
You forgot to menton the E G G strat! Eat Enemy Game I foung much success by eating the enemy switch, or just going nom nom on my own. Also, eating wifi cables work. Many players eat their wifi cabels at random though.
I love how Vasko said before: drop roller is bad, and then my gear is perfectly scrubbed with drop roller, and sometimes I use dualies. I barely die from jumping in. Also, jump to people who are furthest back. It really helps a lot.
Great video Vasko, these are great tips. I don't always Super Jump, but whenever I do I at least make sure I put a Tide Pod (aka Splat Bomb),a Sticky Bomb(aka Suction Bomb) or a Kittydog(aka Autobomb)on the ground in case I'm being Jump Camped. If I have Splashdown ready,I'll Super jump to one of my teammates and then use it. I main the Dualies class, so I'll dodge roll at least once whenever I Super Jump. Whenever one of my teammates are super jumping to me,I usually find a safe place so they won't be splatted. That's another good idea.
wel here is the most efective thing to do: 1, have stelth jump. is incredably efective because it means that your enemies can not se you unless they are at around Sploosh fall of range and (unlike Drop Roler) can save you from being splated by a charger and a bomb that has been thrown far away 2, jump safetly. is not like in S1, you can stil be spoted so best thing to do is look at the map while you are respawning and paying atention to where everyone is and jumping to someone that is not in the midle of/right around enemy ink. that is the core advice I could give, also apoligies for being a lil late to watch teach and have a nice day~
If you use a splat or undercover brella you can open the shield before the splat you (not useful against multiple enemies) if you use the tenta brella you might be able to open the shield in time but generally it opens to slow
I love the feeling of camping a jump and just throwing a splat bomb at the jump point and they jump into the bomb as it explodes. Its just so... nice... (Evil laughter)
I feel like the special abiluty that lets you hide your jump marker is the most GODLY ability because you can just jump to your opponent while their getting killed then just sneak around and kill you enemies
Great tips! But one last thing that I feel is just as important. - Enemy weapon capabilities: When deciding to jump or not, know the type of weapons the enemy has. If the enemy anchor for example is using a charger, a seemingly safe jump can still be dealt with by a good anchor, but go right ahead if a crucial pick happened. Good luck!
My tip ties in with the “Look before you leap” tip. Take a few extra seconds to look at your map and determine if it’s safe to jump to a teammate. A few questions to ask yourself before you make the jump: - Are there any visible enemies near them? - Is your teammate surrounded by enemy ink? - Does the enemy team have a sniper or a specific weapon that you have issues dealing with? -how many teammates are still on the field? -(specific to Clam Blitz) Do you have a Power clam and is one of your teammates close enough to the basket? -Are they near the objective or far away? These are all questions to consider before you make that jump, especially that last one. Sometimes it’s a good idea to jump to someone that’s a bit always from the objective since there’s a lower chance of getting camped. Of course that doesn’t mean you should jump to a person just respawned a couple seconds before you as that just wastes time compared to just swimming there. Also Jumping directly to the tower in TC might not be the best option either since it provides a high chance to get splatted.
here's one for jump roller - try to go diagonal. moving vertical and horizontal is what they usually expect, so a diagonal jump can make the charger campers miss their shot. also note that it can be used right after a splashdown landing, so you can use it to splat them, and leave the other enemies clueless as to where you went when you aren't in the middle. It's so fun to see an enemy just start staring at the center of your splashdown after they find out you aren't there XD
I've never done it (mostly because I don't use weapons with Booyah Bomb that often), thought I saw it happen once, but can you super jump and activate Booyah Bomb to get your shield up and splat some squiddos? Ink Armor would help you take a hit when you land, but I don't know how effective that would be. Lots of Quick Super Jump will mess with opponents trying to camp you with bombs since the timing would be off Great video btw. I hope more people see this so they can make Jump Camping more difficult for me >:)
Guess what 3 people wanted to jump camp me and as soon as I landed I dropped a ink bomb. (I forgot what its called). Then when I died I killed all of em I laughed hard it was almost a team wipe
U can use dualies to roll after landing. In combination with the ability to roll after jumping, you can roll 3 times with the lost and 5 times with the quathopper
You can also use dualies for dodge rolling which fixes the issue with the drop roller where you can’t control where you roll while with dualies you can roll in any direction and you can roll 2-4 times (depending on which type dualie you use)
You could also see if you could deploy your brella before their shots can hit you (good for undercover brellas). Also if you're a brella and you see that there's a succ bomb where one of your teammates is superjumping, you can use your canopy to block the bomb explosion and save their life!
Quick tip: If you don't have any Drop Roller shoes, but still want to roll after your Super Jump, try using dualies. Dualies let you roll without the need for using up a main ability on your shoes, and you can roll multiple times with several different effects afterwards! Some examples are: Dualie Squelchers - Being able to move freely after a roll Tetra Dualies - Being able to roll twice as much (also the dark tetras have splashdown so you should also consider that) Overall - Increased accuracy and range I personally don't use dualies, but that's most likely because I don't Super Jump.
As a teammate getting jumped to, especially if you see a superjump marker and aren't sure you are gonna be able to hang on, put a bomb on the marker's spot if you can and you have that sub. (Suction bombs are great for this.) Sometimes, that bit of extra support right on the spot can give the jumper enough time to get established to the new situation.
A tip for helping people jumping to you is to put up a form of protection, not just a splash wall, but defend them yourself, don’t just run off and let them get splatted
The funniest thing in my opinion is when your whole team splatted the whole other team except one person super jumping and your whole team gets splatted running away from the splashdown of the jumper
Probably the most useful weapons for anti-jump campers is the splat roller, since it’s vertical swing is just the right timing to splat anyone near your jump point. If a charger is attempting to jump camp, drop-roll is most recommended. Other non-charger weapons with one-hit capabilities, such as roller and blaster can be used to splat the campers before they can splat you. Although not too effective, brushes such as ink brush and octo brush can help you get away from campers(unless if it is a roller, blaste or charger[Babmboozler aside, unless if the user is stacked with main-power up].
don't forget that you can roll with dualies when you land as well! the drawback is that that roll will have the same cooldown time, while the drop roller roll has pretty much no cooldown.
One of my favorite sets of gear is focused on super jumping around the map every time I clear out some enemies and most of the time I don’t even have time to look at who I’m jumping to.
I know I’m late but here’s a tip: place beacons where least expected. If you have beacons or maybe just someone on your team does, only jump to beacons that are in a kind of sweet spot. Not too close to the enemy but not too far of a swim to approach the enemy. Also, jump to different areas each time to avoid predictably. I have to deal with jump campers and it kinda makes me salty because normally they’re also squid baggers. But whatever, good luck!
Types of Gear users Example 1: The Fashionistas. They Don’t care what their gear abilities are, but how they look. Example 2: The Stacker (me 😅) Those people love to stack up gear abilities for fun effects! Example 3: The Perfectionists (me as well 😂) They will wear the same gear for multiple matches until the gear ability slots are full so they can scrub for chunks and then stack them on to the appropriate gears. Can this be a funny little idea?
If you use drop roller ink resistance and main power up depending on the weapon main power up may help with the splatting and drop roller and ink resistance will help with escaping.
and to those who jump camp, if you notice someone going right into a battle where it is obvious they are gonna die, just be careful if their weapon has splashdown lol
Tip, if you don’t want to use drop roller then with all dualies you can dodge roll at least twice before stopping. Get good at aiming and you may beat them
I had to get really good at shooting on my way down. I love the Octoshot, so if they didn't get me in the air. I always knew there'd be someone jump camping my landing zone. Splat enough players and most will either nope away from trying to camp you, they'll back off enough to try and stay out of the Octoshot range, or they won't learn their lesson and you'll always have a splat buddy that you send back to spawn, if there is a sniper... well if you didn't get them while in the air and they didn't get while in the air you're as good as splatted on landing.
Just throwing this out there. I only jump in if we have man advantage (ie. we have 3 people compared to their 2 or something like that) or if we're making the final push to take the lead on objective. More circumstantial is jumping in while the enemy team is about to take the lead in zones in overtime or something like that. Just my thoughts on when you should jump in in the first place.
Everytime my teammate is about to jump to me, I make sure I kill all the enemies near them so they won't get killed I'm probably always the distraction/sacrifice or a shield for everyone-
I had no idea that hunt existed until this video. Now I have the tools necessary to make a meme strat. You need hunt. Res pawn timer, Swim Speed, and res pawn punisher. This will allow you to get to the fight, die, and then kill them very quickly.
Cool! Here's a tip: Always protect your teammates, in case you see a jumping camper out there. Remember that Splatoon is a team game, so if you don't take care of each other, nobody else will.
How to be a good superjumper: ->Take note of the surrounding area your teammate is in. Is there enemy ink moving in? Don't jump, then. ->Only jump to players near enemy spawn when they specifically say 'This Way!'. Otherwise, you're revealing their location. ->Always protect nearby superjumping players. Don't ditch them; a teammate could help you take back the lead.
This applies to dualie users RYR. Remember Your Roll. Remember that you can roll at least twice in any direction and that it gives you more accurate shots. You can roll away whilst creating a path to get away, or you can roll away whilst Splatting the jump camper before they know what's happening. Use Beacons! Has your team mate placed Beacons?? Use them. They're incredibly useful when you aren't quite sure if jumping straight into the fray is a good idea. Most beacon users place their beacons in safe places as well, and really good beacon users will use Sub Power Up and your jump speed will be increased.
I always charge my splashdown then I FLY. Then one time my teammate died while I was in midair but luckily my splashdown was ready to ROCK AND I SPLATTED FOUR PLAYERS WITH ONE GO!!! I was soooooo proud 😁
Damn... Once i splatted 3 players and one enemy was dead with my little bro dapple dualies when i got jump camped. I drop rolled and splatted em with satisfaction. 😌
This one is pretty situational but if you land on your own ink RUN. If you have a slow weapon like a splatling or charger then this is probably your best bet. Works well with drop roller
I usually dodge works out pretty well for the most part and I do wait a little before jumping in. I also protect my teammate who jumps to me, unless it's rainmakern and I have the rainmaker or claim blitz where I have the ball
instead of jumping away from enemy ink, I jump to enemy ink expecting to get camped, then I just press the right thumbstick with a splashdown charged. You do the math ;)
Turf even in modes other than turf war can tell you where it is safe to jump and nine times out of ten there will be a player right behind where your turf meets the opponents, unless you are dealing with chargers it's a pretty fool proof strategy
always check for new enemy ink before you jump! if there's enemy ink around, be careful, but you'd know if fresh ink is being shot from your map! :0 also, don't trust a superjumping if there's only one player alive and not in base, they'll surely be targeted by the enemy team ^^
#1 thing i have to say. If u super jump with splash down, just use it when u super jump. Enemies could be hiding in ink and then wait to shoot u. Always use it just in case. Then use drop roller, and put a splat bomb under ur feet. That could get the enemy away from u
The Inkjet is the best Special in the game in my opinion. Inkjet Campers typically aren't a problem with me, usually I start in a spot opponents wouldn't go to look immediately.
I've never tried this but maybe using the baller or ink armor if you have a slow super jump ink armor replaced bubbler and baller replaced kraken and you could use those specials while you super jumped
Also if you have Stealth Jump with a ton of Quick Super Jump, it’ll seem like they appeared outta nowhere
I never thought of trying that!
I made pures for this express purpose and I love it
Actually if your gear is stacked it's less effective
Agent 10 It's not like it's removing effectiveness. Diminishing returns, yes. It all depends on how fast you want to jump
You on every tf2 video now splatoon? I've been cursed
The amount of times I just completely deny a jump camper with a splashdown is just too many, it's so satisfying ahhh
MoshPlayz oh crap one of those were probably me
I'm the person that squidbags all over you stealth bomber types when it doesn't go quite right for you.
I always do that. Superjump X Splashdown is best anime. I use myself as bait, jumping to my TM, BAM.
Yeah im that player that does that
Here's mine- just swim.
These are really helpful!
Of course, a lot of the times it can depend on your playstyle, but it's always good to hold on to some abilities..

Wow that’s pretty helpful! Thank you! ♡︎
How to deal with jump campers:
1. Don't. Jump. And you should be fine.
Alpha Bianchi lmfao yes
I’ve been playing this game since release day and I didn’t even realize drop roller gave you run/swim speed and ink res LOL. Thank you Vasko ;0
That's because Drop Roller didn't originally give you any buffs. The extra perks were added in update version 3.0.0.
My tip is: Jump to Squid Beakons. Make sure you check for enemies near it first though (beakons allow you to see any nearby enemies on the map).
I remember when I first got this game, I was jump camping someone with two other people. that was when they pulled that splashdown trick and promptly squidbagged us all. but hey, I learnt from that and did that move on other people in the c ranks :P

Part of why I love Splashdown.

Good luck!
"Look Before You Leap"
That's a reference to what Marie says in Octo Canyon, right?
Idk man
My tip ties in with the “Look before you leap” tip. Take a few extra seconds to look at your map and determine if it’s safe to jump to a teammate. A few questions to ask yourself before you make the jump:
- Are there any visible enemies near them?

Ink Armor would help you take a hit when you land, but I don't know how effective that would be.
Lots of Quick Super Jump will mess with opponents trying to camp you with bombs since the timing would be off
Great video btw. I hope more people see this so they can make Jump Camping more difficult for me >:)

Its so satisfying getting tons of splats with a Super Jump Splashdown.... I once got three splats!

Some examples are:
Dualie Squelchers - Being able to move freely after a roll
Tetra Dualies - Being able to roll twice as much (also the dark tetras have splashdown so you should also consider that)
Overall - Increased accuracy and range
I personally don't use dualies, but that's most likely because I don't Super Jump.
when I use splashdown in these situations it always feels good to be all *"I'LL* *TEACH* *YOU* *TO* *METAGAME!!!"*

A tip for helping people jumping to you is to put up a form of protection, not just a splash wall, but defend them yourself, don’t just run off and let them get splatted
You can also whip out a Brella mid-jump, meaning that you can typically use them to defend against a camper unless they use a bomb or special.
Such great tips! Thank you!
The funniest thing in my opinion is when your whole team splatted the whole other team except one person super jumping and your whole team gets splatted running away from the splashdown of the jumper
Probably the most useful weapons for anti-jump campers is the splat roller, since it’s vertical swing is just the right timing to splat anyone near your jump point. don't forget that you can roll with dualies when you land as well! the drawback is that that roll will have the same cooldown time, while the drop roller roll has pretty much no cooldown.
Try a power up which makes you invisible when you jump. The enemies cant see when you’re jumping :D
Did you mean sub power up? It only works when jumping to beacons, but if the person who places the beacon has sub power up, the jumper will too.
@@Lowtier_Hero I think they meant "power up" as ability. In this case, Stealth Jump works
One of my favorite sets of gear is focused on super jumping around the map every time I clear out some enemies and most of the time I don’t even have time to look at who I’m jumping to.

Here's a tip: Always protect your teammates, in case you see a jumping camper out there. Remember that Splatoon is a team game, so if you don't take care of each other, nobody else will.
How to be a good superjumper:
->Take note of the surrounding area your teammate is in. Is there enemy ink moving in? Don't jump, then.
->Only jump to players near enemy spawn when they specifically say 'This Way!'. Otherwise, you're revealing their location.
->Always protect nearby superjumping players. Don't ditch them; a teammate could help you take back the lead.
This applies to dualie users
RYR.
Use splashdown is best strategy
But it doesn’t guarantee your safety
Tip. See whether the beacon in question is in a corner. It’s more reliable than the middle of the map
step one: don't jump
I WATCHED THE SPAWN CAMPER VID I LOVE YOU VASKO I HATE THESE THINGS WHEN THEY HAPPEN
Very good video, just thought weird there was no mention of brellas. You can open them before landing securing a safe landing
I usually dodge works out pretty well for the most part and I do wait a little before jumping in. I also protect my teammate who jumps to me, unless it's rainmakern and I have the rainmaker or claim blitz where I have the ball
Splatfest is here!
instead of jumping away from enemy ink, I jump to enemy ink expecting to get camped, then I just press the right thumbstick with a splashdown charged. You do the math ;)
once this guy was hiding and wouldnt move and we kept jumping to him and they had no idea where we were coming from
Turf even in modes other than turf war can tell you where it is safe to jump and nine times out of ten there will be a player right behind where your turf meets the opponents, unless you are dealing with chargers it's a pretty fool proof strategy
always check for new enemy ink before you jump! if there's enemy ink around, be careful, but you'd know if fresh ink is being shot from your map! :0
also, don't trust a superjumping if there's only one player alive and not in base, they'll surely be targeted by the enemy team ^^
As a Splattershot main, I tend to only jump if I have Splashdown.
And if that doesn't get the jump camper, the quick burst bombs will.
Super jump camper:
Super jumper: *S P L A S H D O W N*
Super Jump camper: **chuckles** *IM IN DANGER*
The first time I did the splashdown on a jump camper was the most satisfying thing in my life XD
#1 thing i have to say. If u super jump with splash down, just use it when u super jump. Enemies could be hiding in ink and then wait to shoot u. Always use it just in case. Then use drop roller, and put a splat bomb under ur feet. That could get the enemy away from u
Watching this video reminds me of how I somehow got the neo octoling armor (it has haunt) with 3 subs of super jump speed up.
A classic way to avoid jump campers:
*use the goddamn squid beacons instead of jumping to a friend in the middle of a firefight*
The Inkjet is the best Special in the game in my opinion. Inkjet Campers typically aren't a problem with me, usually I start in a spot opponents wouldn't go to look immediately.
Here a tip: if u use dulies u can use the roll mechanic by pressing b as u land while shooting so u don't have to waste a gear spot on drop roller
Yeah, ive rolled (you can use Dualies too!), sub/main weapon, and ive done the splashdown
I've never tried this but maybe using the baller or ink armor if you have a slow super jump ink armor replaced bubbler and baller replaced kraken and you could use those specials while you super jumped
Where's the
AMA Vasko?
I've sorted the questions, should be out by the end of the month
Great video! But I will always be that annoying jump camper to splat regardless of what people think 😎😎😂
I just love to splashdown when I super jump. It’s just so satisfying. Thought you can get me that easily? Haha, NOPE!
Always jump to the player that is safely behind the Frontline you want to fight at. Never jump to an area actively changing ink colors.
You can also shield with a brella if you fire as soon as you can while midair, dunno about tenta brella though
