This is so well explained, with great visual details. It sounds beautifully too. This is a perfect tutorial and this channel deserves way more recognition.
Hello Arthur, how are you? I am Emad, an immigrant Syrian Arab artist I have been living in Jordan for 10 years I lost my music studio since then..and recently I got a Yamaha 3000 keyboard And I want to get back in shape.. I searched for high-level lessons and found you.. you are amazing.. I will follow you.. language will not be a barrier between us.. greetings 🌹
Hi Emad, thank you for the kind words. And its nice to hear you’re getting back into it after all this time. I hope you enjoy my videos. There’s many more to come. 🙌🏻🎹
I'm always on the lookout for material like this. You don't really start playing piano, in my opinion, until you break away from playing only "canned" songs and start expressing yourself spontaneously. It's like jumping from two to three dimensions. I just composed a waltz last night, my first. Not at all original, and pretty mediocre, but it's mine, and it's a big step forward.
Hi Dan. Totally agree. I think I got to something like Grade 6 or 7 before I started to try improvisation. Purely because I didn’t know where to start, and thought you had to be wildly advanced to be able to do it. Little did I know that it can be relatively simple if you have the right tools and direction. Something like this is ideal for anyone wanting to have a play around with improv, whether they’re a beginner or more advanced. Great to hear you’ve been composing your own stuff as well!
That my goal. Always has been. It’s hard to create and understand what you’re doing when all you ever did was follow instructions. I can learn a song quickly but I can’t conjure anything beautiful on piano on my own. I know chords and inversions and arpeggios. Idk how to not sound boring and repetitive though. Need more than a 4/4 rhythm to, that and embellishments. Feel like something won’t click in my brain. I know too much to be this lost.
Hello Arthur, I went to see a professional piano teacher when I was about 30, straight away he said I'd be wasting his time, my time and my money, he told me to get rid of my piano and take up another hobby, I'm now 67 and still yearn to play the piano, I wish you were around when I was 30 I'd have 37 years experience by now. I am going to follow along with your video lessons and hope to have some fun and pleasure practicing your methods, I've seen many online piano courses free and paid, by far yours is the best, please keep up the video's and help me finally get to play some piano, I believe it's never too late just as it's never to soon to start.
Hi, I’m sorry to hear you received this terrible advice. I think it says more about that persons teaching ability than your own musical potential. Well its great to hear that you think so highly of my lessons. And you are right, its never too late to start, and with the right teaching, patience and approach anyone can learn to play piano. Enjoy! 🎹👏🏻
Pleasant warmth in my heart and tears in my eyes telling me that you are my best teacher, what a find this morning for me, you are a precious jewel, you are the best. Thank you. I'm sending you my love from Virginia USA
I found this video by complete coincidence but am amazed with both the content as well as your style of teaching! Well done and thank you for the great ideas 👍🏻
It's been almost two yeas since i decided to learn to play piano, and i evolved so much in the last few weeks just by watching your videos. You are amazing! Cheers from Brazil!
You are indeed a great teacher ...making all lessons do simple and lucid ..... Thank you so very much .... Snd keep inspiring and motivating with your great lessons . Best wishes and regards to you from Simply Dental
Hi Arthur, another great lesson - am beginning to get the Interstellar variations under the belt, working on this will be next. I really like the way you give a really simple starting point, and then gradually ramp it up. Gives us all something to aim for! And looking at the comments below, it really is never too late to learn, and with the right level of practice and application, you will get to be a competent keyboard player and bring a lot of joy into your life as well. I wish I had had Arthur around as an instructor when i was young (but no such thing as on-line lessons then and most folks could only afford an acoustic piano - how things have changed!) 😃
Thank you for these kind words Bowman. And you are right, it's never too late to learn, and there are also many ways to learn piano. You just need to find the approach that suites you. I'm glad my lessons are helping! :)
Arthur, you are a great teacher, I love your lessons. I play the guitar, but I didn't think I'd learn to play the piano too! And that is very enriching musically. Thank you so much!
@@BirdsPianoAcademy then I'm glad I shared these words :) I'm just very grateful for Chords course and ear training and more :) Next is your jazz course, I just can't wait for it!
Not to worry. You can pivot from the 5th interval up to the octave with your thumb in the left hand. You don’t need to keep your 5th finger on the root, and just use the pedal to sustain it. I hope that makes sense.
That is such a shame , I really struggled with octaves when I first started but with daily exercises I can do them quite comfortably ( not always perfect ! ) now , keep practicing and you'll get there 😊
Heya 👋🏻I hope you all enjoyed that. What level did you manage to get to?
Hi I’m currently taking your ultimate chord course. Thank you for easy to follow guidance. I’m working through section 3: it’s time to play
@@CAJ341 Great to hear you're taking my Ultimate Piano Chords Course. Give me a shout if you have any questions 🙂

I am confused i thought that this is a new video OMG
Ha it happens to us all. However there is a new video coming out very soon 🙂
I cannot reach an octave, never have, never will. It’s why my mom never let me take piano lessons.
