This machine was made from a profile pipe found on scrap metal. I also used an engine from an old washing machine and an old car wiper motor. The cost of the machine came out $ 20

Man your projects are absolutley brilliant. Using a window motor for vertical motor travel is truly inspired plus if it ever fails then the part is easily obtainable from local auto store.

if you notice at 12:30 the veltical movement is not straight... but ni 10years from now this man will make this again 50times better!!!
5 minutes in I thought, "What's he making, a drum sander?" Yep! Nice project and that looks like a powerful sander. Much better than what you could buy in a store.

Never seen anyone tint out the lens and show the weld flow like that. Hahaha that was awesome. I've seen it through a mask but I've never seen someone record it so well... Ah I see how it was done now lol. Still a first for me. Great build man!

Cool! Does the up and down motion make it more efficient, or make the end result smoother or something?
The up and down motion means, you are using more of the abrasive, rather than just a strip the width of whatever you are sanding.
So more efficient, and cost effective, also when one end of the drum is worn out, you can put the drum on upside down and use the other end.
I believe it prevents defects in the sandpaper from transferring to the wood and making grooves.
