Hey guys welcome back to the Foxhole! It's been a while, you look so different, i like the new haircut on her.
Fans at Sabaton's Europe Tour and now at Asian Tour are enjoying this classic epic BM anthem in every live show. Hopefully one day you will too, they're going to the US with the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok, after this Asian - Australia Tour and later they will come back to the Europe for another headline shows.
You mentioned DragonForce, and actually the album version got the collaboration guitars of Herman Li and Sam Totman, and they're very good friends since a very long time, they help the girls to reach Download Festival and made some fun collabs live.
Hope to see you soon with their new songs from the new album "The Other One".
Pick any of their new singles, no copyright blocked issues so far.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction waited a Long time for you to react to this version of ROR the best version in many fans opinion.
Imagine a hour and half workout and then singing in tune .
Su even at just 17 years old is an incredible front person and Yui and Moa even younger 15 but seasoned professionals even then 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

i'm lucky saw BABYMETAL live a week ago in my country, the crowd isn't that many comparing to this Live, but the crowd energy so fucking awesome, they doing Moshpits all the time, the time when they stopped doing Moshpit was only during Monochrome, probably the best 1 Hour and 30 Minutes in my life so far

Welcome back and thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I am surprised that you did not react to this anthemic song until today. You are right. RoR has been played to unite people at venues, in many cases in the end-all as you saw. (I was united to The One 14 times to date 😄) The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. In your video, Su shouted some words at 11:12 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then or she does it smilingly with her friendly voice now, which makes people happy.

Welcome back and great reaction. Those references and the similarity to 'Through the Fire and Flames' by DragonForce were not a coincidence. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version.
This was the Kami Band playing live of course - on guitars were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura with BOH on his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits).
This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world.
About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way.
It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.

BABYMETAL did RoR tonight in Taipei. I saw it, ha. During the intro, Moa had the flag get tangled in her hairpiece. Seems to happen often, lol...
It is raining heavily in Japan right now. But on Friday of the weekend, as soon as it was time to go, I said goodbye from my workplace and took the highway in the rain to the neighboring city of Matsumoto city to see today's Taipei Live of BABYMETAL in live viewing at the Aeon Cinema. I couldn't make a reservation in advance, but I was hoping to get a ticket on the day of the show, and it was easy enough to get it. Or rather, the seats were noticeably empty. I saw it in the front row against the screen. I had been at the back of the line at previous live shows and couldn't understand anything because I kept running in circles, haha. But this time it was kind of weird to have a seat and eat popcorn while seeing the show, lol. Well, it was great to see the faces of the three girls and everything so close up. Su- is very expressive. And everyone around me, has worn BM t-shirts, in other words, formal attires, but I was the only one in company work clothes, haha. The venue, Zep New Taipei, was a small hall. But it's nice to see well at that size. It was interesting to be able to see the back of Moa's nice shaped head on Megitsune, haha. Oh, yeah, Moa didn't say anything to Su- at the break of Megitsune. I thought she was going to say something like, 'Soup dumpling' (小籠包), ha.
All 14 (maybe) songs were great and the ladies did them non stopping. Especially great MAYA, METALIZM, and Monochrome in the middle of the setlist.
Setlist (it depends on my memory. So excuse me if I'm wrong)
BMD, Megitsune, iine, Shanti×3, MAYA, METALIZM, Monochrome, BMC, Distortion, PAPAYA, GC, RoR, en. Metal Kingdom, IDZ
Momoko was also very lively. It would be okay about her because of her much experiences as the Avenger.

    • @robxsiq7744
      @robxsiq7744 ปีที่แล้ว +2

They need to do more Momoko features I think now that she is official. As a fan across the pond, we still (5 years later) have Yui sadness and we don't really know too much about this Momoko chick (unless you dig pretty deep...then you end up in SG and..nobody should have to go down the SG road without warning). So..they need some behind the scenes footage of Momo and the girls doing normal stuff. We got used to Su, Moa and Yui hanging out, eating stuff together, chatting about life and all that casual stuff...if they don't do that with Momoko, she will always seem like an outlier.
btw, any of the iconic Kami's in the band when they played (Boh, Takayoshi, etc?) or are they no longer part anymore?

    • @minamihideki7123
      @minamihideki7123 ปีที่แล้ว

@@robxsiq7744 Yes, in fact, since Momoko and Su & Moa did not spend the same time at Sakura Gakuin, so from me, a Japanese point of view, Momoko might see the two as seniors whom she looks up to. On the other hand, I would expect Su & Moa to see Momoko as their adorable junior from Sakura Gakuin. But there is nothing like any kind of evidences of such statements as far as I know, so in the future I would also like to see some kind of behind scenes Momoko and Su- & Moa do something like that. And also like to read interviews with all three of them together in magazines.
Glass Moon Gaming recently featured some videos of Momoko, and while I didn't comment on them, I think it's great.
As for Kami Band, I'll just say that the Western Kami Band has been appearing since Sabaton's tour in April, but the January revival shows were the Eastern. I wonder which one will be coming out for the shows from this summer and beyond. That kind of interest is fun, and both are great.

    • @robxsiq7744
      @robxsiq7744 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@minamihideki7123 Exactly. Momoko doesn't have much of a past with Su and Moa outside of being in the general sphere..not in the same way Yui did...so its time to build a present, and not just singing and dancing, but..hell, some b-footage showing them going bowling or just casual crap like that is fine. For all we know, they may hate each other and never speak to one another *shrugs*...so yeah, to build a band, you need the personal touch. Otherwise, you might as well not bother calling her the 3rd.
Go to Amuse HQ and knock on their door. Tell them all this. The internet demands it :P

Great reaction, thanks and welcome back. It's been a while!
Don't worry, I believe that Herman Li and Sam Totman would be happy to hear that this one is a million times better than "Through the Fire and Flames" because they actually wrote the guitar arrangements and even played the guitars on the studio track. 😁
And yes, this is phenomenal and it's considered an epic final encore for an epic concert (New Year Fox Festival - Legend 2015).
I'm so glad you noticed Su-metal putting the crowd chants on tempo again (they went too fast). She already was a seasoned performer at her 17. Having a click track IEM also helps.
    Until next time!

I just saw them 9th July , a week ago in Sydney, crowd went nuts, sold out 5.5 thousand venue. The atmosphere was so electric, it was like the air was on fire. the US Kami Band were very good I have to admit. Musicly and mixwise , Shanti Shanti was a standout, and Su's vocals were impeccable. Age range of audience was 7 to 70. Now that's a demographic not many bands can claim. A fantastic night.. Thank you Babymetal , Kami Band and all BM staff for including Australia in the world tour. Nice reaction. Welcome back to the foxhole. It's deep and full of surprises. Herman Li said they made the guitar parts hard because they thought they would never have to play the song. well, Never say never. They ended up playing this very song with Babymetal live on stage. Herman Li said they had to practice for a week to get it right. Rare footage of it somewhere on TH-cam. But they also performed together at a music festival that is historical for Babymetal. They weren't supposed to be there. The promoter said they would never play there. DragonForce snuck them in. The next years Babymetal was invited to play there. Babymetal always reminds me of these lyrics from Top Jimi by Van Halen. "Sang so good that the roof fell in. Now everybody wants to go." Heck, I know I want to go see Babymetal. The end was actually edited. Went on even longer as Babymetal went from the extended side stages and then back to the middle. Epic end to the concert. See You.

Babymetal made metal fun and a metalhead should not mind that and just enjoy the performance. I love this group and their backup band. Just outstanding. KITSUNE up! 🤘🦊🤘

Road of Resistance: Live In Japan 🇯🇵 @"Saitama Super Arena (SSA):-
"Road of Resistance" is a song by the Japanese Kawaii metal band Babymetal. The song was released worldwide as a digital single on February 1, 2015 by Toy's Factory, serving as the lead single off the international re-release of the album Babymetal, as well the opening track from Metal Resistance. Su-Metal was 10 when she performed with Karen Girls at the SSA (SAITAMA SUPER ARENA). The Arena that night holds about 20000 Babymetal fans but when you see the centrepiece Island and the two curve bridge, it can hold up to 30000 or even up to 40000 depends on the configuration of Babymetal concert for each tour they performed. This song is co-written by Dragonforce with Herman Li and Sam Totman plays the guitar 🎸 solos, but Kami Band live show is brutal and tight. This is a classic Power Metal genre or speed metal as some might refer to. Bands like Dragonforce, Helloween and even Sabaton do power metal genre. Arkadia from Metal Galaxy Album is the successor to Road Of Resistance. At 17 Su-Metal alongside Yuimetal and Moametal who is 15 at that time, gave a perfect 👌 performance on how live show should be. This performance alone cemented my love ❤️ and appreciation for Babymetal. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘😍💕🌸🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult. .
    Babymetal singles chronology:-
    •"Megitsune" (2013).
    •"Road of Resistance" (2015).
    •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015).
    Background and release:-
"Road of Resistance" includes guest appearances by DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman.
The song would be used to mark the beginning of the band's lore, Metal Resistance Episode III, at the concert held on November 8, 2014 at O2 Brixton Academy in London, which was also the final tour date for the band's Babymetal World Tour 2014.
A trailer for the song was released on January 5, 2015, integrating footage from the debut performance of the song in London. The song was first released as a digital bonus track off the live album Live at Budokan: Red Night, with limited editions of the album containing a download card with a code to download the song at no additional charge. The song was later released as a dedicated digital single on the iTunes Store on February 1, 2015.
Li and Totman are featured on guitars, although they are listed as featured artists in various regions of the re-release of the album Babymetal, on which the song appears as a bonus track, mainly in the United Kingdom.
    Composition:-
Rolling Stone described the song as "power metal" with "shiny pop harmonies". Rock Sound called the song "everything we’d expect from [Babymetal] with a bit of Dragonforce’s exhilarating, flame-fingered guitar added in for good measure." Matt Evans of The List called the song an "empowering hyperspeed anthem". According to Kadokawa, the song consists of twin shred guitars courtesy of Li and Totman, with a dynamic sound derived of melodic speed metal. The lyrics are described as a narrative on the Metal Resistance, which the band adopted on their world tour. It has also been considered the "final stage" of Babymetal and the prologue to Metal Resistance, and a transition performance that demonstrates the band's growth from the previous album.
According to Su-metal, the song refers to the Metal Resistance lore, described as "the story of Babymetal traveling across the world in the hopes of creating a new metal to unify the world as we break through the barriers of language and borders. In the middle of the song there is a part where we go, ‘Wow, Wow’ and this is where our fans from around the world can sing with us at our concerts. I hope people will listen to our album and support us at our shows." Yuimetal stated in an interview with Metal Hammer that "Road of Resistance" is her favorite song from Metal Resistance, explaining that it "has been performed at so many concerts, so a lot of memories are jam-packed. The lyrics are positive, the sound is so cool, and [the] dance is so powerful."
•Recorded by Watametal and Adrian Breakspear.
    •Mixed by Ettore Rigotti
    Personnel:-
    •Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) - Main vocals.
•Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) - Backing vocals.

    Saitama Super Arena:-
"Saitama Super Arena (さいたまスーパーアリーナ, Saitama Sūpā Arīna) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Chūō-ku, Saitama, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It opened preliminarily on May 5, 2000, and then officially opened on September 1 of the same year. Its spectator capacity is 36,500 at maximum settings,[3] making it the second-largest indoor arena in the world. The main arena capacity is between 19,000 and 22,500".
    •Owner: Saitama Arena Corp.
    •Capacity: 36,500 (stadium setting) 18,000 (arena setting).
The arena was designed by Dan Meis, who at the time was working for architecture firm Ellerbe Becket, together with Nikken Sekkei. Meis's design was selected as a result of an international design competition. The arena features a gigantic movable section of seating which can reduce capacity for smaller events and create a more intimate setting.
It is a favorite venue for puroresu (Japanese professional wrestling) and mixed martial arts (MMA). It has also hosted other sports events such as boxing, basketball, volleyball, tennis, ice hockey, and gymnastics. It is the only Japanese arena equipped especially for American football.
It formerly housed the John Lennon Museum, which displayed John Lennon memorabilia and closed in 2010.
    LYRICS OVERVIEW:-
The light of the smoke signal that dyes the eastern sky bright red
    東の空を 真っ赤に染める 狼煙の光が
A new way to signal the end of the darkness of loneliness
    孤独の闇の 終わりを告げる 新たな道しるべ

So glad S&T came back with another Babymetal reaction. So much fun! Had to watch immediately when I saw this.
And at 10:52 in your reaction Su-metal takes us to The Electric Church complete with gothic arches on the backdrop. And yes, through the sound system and with a harmony track, but just listen to how Su- fills the arena with her voice.
Nice touch with the flames, Harry.

The song was written by several people, but the guitar parts were co-written by the guitarists from Dragon Force. And they played on the original album recording. Though obviously the Kami Band played it at concerts.

As Grington 300 300 has already said Herman and Sam arranged the guitar parts. 😊 I've seen this so many times and never get bored by it and what I like about you two is that you're always very positive and enthusiastic - there are a few in the metal community who just see them as a gimmick sadly. I have been extremely lucky as I've seen them live 3 times - the last one being a few weeks ago as special guests of Sabaton - only on stage for 40 minutes or so to try out new material. I have tickets to see them for a fourth time here in London in November. They just make you happy, it's a meshing of styles that really shouldn't work but so delightfully does making them unique imho😊 In 43 years of attending gigs, I've seen everyone from AC/DC to ZZ Top (including Queen at Wembley Stadium in 86) and Babymetal , whilst they don't have the longevity - equally give me those chills that we all feel when something is undoubtedly super special. Take good care of yourselves 😃

Nice timing on this one, I'm seeing Babymetal in Sydney on Friday night! Somewhat smaller venue (5.5K capacity) and I'm not sure if it's a sellout. Aussies are a bit slow to catch on to the burgeoning J-Rock scene, although I keep trying to introduce my mates to Lovebites and Band-Maid. 😅 Hopefully more of these bands will tour Down Under eventually.
Anyway, great reaction. I'm blown away that a 17 year old can command a crowd of that size with a stare and hand gestures, that takes real nerve. Su's voice has matured considerably since then, and I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing her first hand. Cheers.

I agree - for those of us who did not grow up with a concept of "kawaii", Babymetal is a great ambassador for this way of being - and I think you're not alone in having a good, and quite emotional reaction to them, especially with a song (and spectacle) like "Road of Resistance" - even at the smaller US venue where I saw them a few years ago, the crowd singing in unison - "Wo-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-oh..." with Su leading them - was downright stirring.

I love that you all completely understood and explained "band-timing" vs. "crowd-timing" as far as audio goes! Not everyone (although I'm sure many do) always seems to understand that audio takes a while to travel, and is VERY hard for singers to hear crowd feedback in live venues, especially stadiums, and use click-tracks in their ear, regardless of appreciating fan call-and-response, to know when to continue the song and keep everyone on track :)

    What's the song about?

    • @Grington300
      @Grington300 ปีที่แล้ว +7

It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way.
