    Everyone’s saying the middle axle nut is 31 but mine is bigger

      It’s a 32mm socket for the axle nut.

      @@Fwerks.1592 I meant 32, but my drivers side is bigger than a 32 for some reason.

      @@visionarybrushstroker7694 that’s odd! Is it a size 33? It’s probably an after market cv axle and it was probably replaced at one point.

    Do you use a torque spec on the 32 mm nut on the axle? Or just tighten to your liking? You can also take the two bolts holding the caliper on and take the whole brake assembly off as on piece. Use a zip tie or such to hold it.

      I get it lol, trust me I have all the special tools required. A lot of people don’t have a torque wrench, I didn’t want to discourage anyone from doing work on their car. The axle nut was torque to 130lb of torque off camera. Also for the caliper I always make sure they never hang off the brake line, last thing you want is a damaged brake line. It’s not my first rodeo , I do thank you for watching and any feedback!

    I found easier for myself to remove 2 bolts from shock and one on the bottom and axle rod and take the whole thing out on the ground. Didn't have to disconnect steering tie rod. Its alot of more acess to 4 rear bolts and old hub was so rusty I never would be able to remove it if it was still hanging on the car. I put it facing lug bolts down on 2 pieces 2x2 put 32mm socket on rear of the bearing and hit with sledge hammer and was able to remove it from like 10 th hit. Then reverse assembly make sure before put it back on axle rod that hole for sensor matches with hole on new part and make sure dust shield facing right side otherwise wont be able to install sensor and caliper

    Who is manufacturer of that wheel bearing? I was using moog and the hole for ABS sensor is not aligned properly.

    • @Fwerks.1592
      @Fwerks.1592  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a carquest brand “ wheel bearing “ hub assembly. This one bolted up perfectly fine. Must be a mold issue on that moog.

    So if someone forgot to undo the sensor and few days later the abs slip vdc lights came on how would one test if its broken or just needs to be reset i watched the person changing mine on the rear bearings everything looks similar except no axel on rear ones and i don't remember them removing the sensor?

    • @Fwerks.1592
      @Fwerks.1592  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! Yes there are a few ways to check if you have access to a scanner. The abs sensor can get damaged if it’s not removed. Sometimes when they don’t remove it before installing the new bearing. The sensor collects metal shavings at the tip. Which this can cause the signal to be blocked. Go ahead reset the abs code or clean the sensor off. If you have access to see live data, go under the abs module and select all abs sensors ( FL, FR, RL,RR) it should the. Display the mph on each wheel. You’ll know if that specific sensor is bad if there is no data on display.
