    The recipe for the Wild, Green Soup is as follows -
    Collect enough wild greens such as Nettles, Cleavers, Sea Spinach, Silver Leaf, Cleavers etc that will be enough to feed your family.
    Collect a similar amount of Wild Garlic and/or Three Cornered Leek or similar.
    Rinse if necessary and chop roughly.
    Add a knob of butter to a pan and slowly and gently sauté the greens.
    Add stock - I use Marigold Organic Bouillon if not using our own stock.
    While it is simmering, peel and chop a potato or two (depending on how many you are cooking for).
    Add a couple of carrots and add some garden herbs. I used Wild Marjoram and Golden Oregano
    Scrape some Nutmeg into the soup for extra flavour and when the potatoes and carrots are soft, blend the soup.
    Serve with a spoonful of créme fraiche and home made bread. Enjoy!
    Tickets for The Yoga Picnic are selling fast so don't forget to check out the website and apply the code danusirishherbgarden10 for your discount.
    Thank you so much for watching. Have a great week! xx

    Hello Terri. I loved this video. The bread look so tempting, I used to make my own wholemeal bread, I still miss it. Sadly, 20 years ago I was diagnosed coeliac. It only took me 35 years of pushing my GP to do something for me. I've written the NHS off, I have several fairly serious illnesses, but over the years, the hospital and my GP kept telling me, "Well, we're sorry, we know what's wrong with you but we can't help you. I told my Dr, "The next time you see me, I hall dead, or very seriously ill", and walked out. I turned to qualified alterative therapies. My health has improved enormously,.I have a new lease of life, I'm able to get up onto my beloved fells once more. not bad for a 75 year old Spring chicken.
    Congratulations one reach 119K subscribers, you really do deserve. X

    Most of those wild herbs do not grow in the wild here (Kentucky). Right now I am trying to think of where I may buy some of the plants (or seeds) to get most of them growing in my own gardens. I think I should go through Native American sources for training to identify, grow, and use American wild herbs that will grow here. Thank you for this education and video.

      @DanusIrishHerbGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cingratulations!! Thank you, looks lovely, I'm definitely going to try this, I have a few ingredients in my garden and a little plot of wild land near my home. I nearly stomped on some clever that has spawled out on my garden path the other day so I moved them back to use at a later date. ❤

    Hi Terry, I would like to buy your books but I have a doubt, I'm living in the east coast of Spain (Valencia) , so the question is, are the herbs you talk about in the books found only in irish lands?
    Thanks so much, love all your videos ❤️ the landscape is amazing, and your wisdom, thanks for sharing it with all of us 🙏🏻🙂🙌🏼🌼

      Hi Mara, how are you? Glad you are enjoying the vids. As for the books, all of the herbs in them are found all the way across Europe, Asia, and North America so you will find the same ones in parts of Spain and especially I think where you are. You can buy the books as PDFs too and you can buy them individually. xx

    Dear Terri, thank you for your pleasant, soothing, therapeutic and very useful videos, they always give off a good, positive energy! May I ask you to make a video about a few main uses, those you prefer, about the elderberry flower? Something like the videos on plantain, dandelion... Here, in Italy, the elderberries are in full bloom... I would like to have an other of your precious teachings also on this versatile, healing plant. Thank you for all the knowledges you are sharing! 💚🌻💫

    I take a low dose of Hawthorn Berry (capsules) for heart support. Is the 4 :1 extract made with hawthorn berries obtained from the shrub you showed in this video? What a beautiful lifestyle you've chosen, although I'm sure it has its hardships also. Do you spend cold winter in the city?

    • @DanusIrishHerbGarden
      @DanusIrishHerbGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are buying a Hawthorn extract it will have been made from the same shrub/tree I am talking about. We are very fortunate and I don't think we have any hardships. We live in our house all year round. I do not agree with second homes.

    Enjoyed your video as I always do. Nice to get a recipe for wild green soup. I make homemade soup pretty regularly. Here we are in dandelion bloom phase, so some weeks behind you as far as the growing season goes. I've got the nettles and all, except for silverweed and sea spinach as I'm hundreds of miles inland from the ocean. I always recall the story about Jetson Milarepa, a Buddhist monk that lived in a cave in the Himalayas for years. Milarepa lived on nettle soup at one point. Fruit trees are about to bloom here so I'm crossing my fingers that it warms up as it's been rather cool these past weeks. Last year it was very cool and rainy during the first weeks of May so much of the fruit here didn't get pollinated. The yoga picnic coming up in July sounds like something that I would enjoy. Thanks for sharing with us and enjoy all those good things you, Lol and the dogs do. Cheers!

    Congratulations on 121K subscribers now 🙌. Love watching the videos of your lifestyle, it looks idyllic and your gardens are lush. It is lovely to see your cats and dogs enjoying themselves. I have recently begun using and eating the dandelions, nettles and cleavers from my garden but have no idea how or where to find wild garlic or any other wild foods. Are there suppliers of such plants that I can buy to grow in my own garden ? Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge xx

    • @DanusIrishHerbGarden
      @DanusIrishHerbGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much. Wild food plants grow in different habitats. First thing I would suggest is treat yourself to two books, one for plant ID and another about foraging in your area. xx

  • @susanschott5147

    If I can’t find wild greens, ( I have a small yard, but my neighbors use pesticides), I’m thinking about substituting organically grown greens that I can get at a good health food store. It probably would not be as good as fresh wild greens, but we need the greens, and you can buy some pretty healthy greens. Do you have any suggestions for people who either do not have access to the wild greens, or are too
    physically handicapped to gather them? This would certainly help with healing the body!

    • @DanusIrishHerbGarden
      @DanusIrishHerbGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could ask your neighbours to stop spraying. If you explain why you want them to stop it might just change everything. If you cannot harvest your own the health food store or a farmer's market would be good choices for them xx
