Hi, I love your videos since I started watching them. I manage to see better ones when I play, but I have a problem. I think when I play I do it, but when I watch the replay for feedback I see that I don't hit bullets and I can't improve that part. Could you give me some advice? Greetings from Costa Rica
Greetings! If I understand what you said, I would recommend going into deathmatch modes to practice your mechanics, putting in some good focus while you are playing to improve faster (make sure not to set expectations too high though, as improving your aim is a slow and steady process). If this isn't what you meant, I would suggest either using google translate or just sending a comment in spanish, as I am ok at reading it!
@ ranked anxiety can be overcome in a few different ways, such as simply playing more until you are used to it and it stops being a problem. What I would suggest would be to either get an alt account so you can play without worrying about your rank, and/or play while focusing on IMPROVEMENT rather than rank, as ranking up is a consequence of getting better, not the opposite ;)
I'm diamond and I think my problem is decisions. When do I hard engage? I've heard you say to hard engage when your team is pushing, right? Spilo if I'm not mistaken says to not soft engage when the fight is going to happen right after. What if there are other things like immortalities. Do I soft engage before hard engaging even when my team is there or do I hard engage right away?
Usually, you only want to hard engage when you have an advantage or are forced to due to the fight ending soon. What Spilo said is correct, as if a fight is happening soon, you need to save your resources and setup to engage when it starts. Your team being there or not doesn't matter too much in terms of soft/hard engage unless they are committing to a short fight (which, like I talked about at the start, forces your hand) As for abilities like immortality field, it's usually a good idea to try and bait them out first with a soft engagement, reset then go hard before the CD resets. If you haven't already, I would recommend you watch the guide I released last week for a deep dive into these topics =)
@HarmlessPoke Got it. So the process is, 1. close distance, 2. soft engage and maybe bait something. Repeat step 2 untill fight is about to happen. When fight is imminent, then 3. Setup and hard engage. Is that it? Also, dashing but with deflect off-cooldown with an escape route is soft engage, right?
I take that as an absolute compliment! Getting multiple kills isn't necessary to get great value out of blade, and in a lot of situations it would be better not to try for it! For example, a lot of teamwipe blades are just a waste because the ult wasn't required to win the fight! In the case of this match, getting multiple kills would be really difficult considering their composition, so instead of thinking about flashy moments and how to set them up, I looked for the most dangerous fights for us to lose and how I could use blade to drastically increase our chances of winning them due to how important they were! (and I'm really proud of the result this match, as my ults quite literally took this from a potentially close match to an extremely dominant one!)
I have no plans to cover it currently! The characters didn't really grab my attention, the balance is wacky and ranked isn't really competitive, so the game isn't for me at the moment!
@@dojadeepwoken Black Panther is fun, but lacks the depth required for me to want to grind him. His lack of poke makes his gameplan extremely repetitive, and while there is room for some variance in your combos, it's not enough to keep me interested long term, ESPECIALLY when you consider how much lower his skill ceiling is compared to Genji and how I'm basically already there from all my dash practice over the years.
Hey poke, I have a question I was playing a game where I felt I really popped off but (not to blame my teammates) we never really grouped up. How should I play to help circumvent this? Thanks
@NickTol-u1s You can try to tell them to regroup either in voice chat, text chat or through pings, but other than that you can't control them! Your best approach is to simply do your best and syncronize with the teammates thst seem to be in the best positions for you to follow up on!
That's not inherently bad! Think about a high level Lucio player for example. Do you think they are actively thinking about their wallriding? Well, they did in the past while they were practicing, but after working on it for long enough, they don't need to think about it anymore to do it well! What I'm trying to say is that you should work to build good habits so you can then play on instinct for the win! (I would recommend watching this video to learn how to do that: th-cam.com/video/Um0bf8cF8NM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=392IPYURsvJxJtiG )
Thanks
I love the really intense fights with the calm music and dialogue 😂

That may mean you need more playtime until mechanical skill becomes automatic and you can focus your brain on bigger decisions.
