Lost Islamic History by Firas Alkhateeb
    Destiny Disrupted by Tamim Ansari
The History of Islam by S.E. AL Djazairi (3 volumes)
Civilisation of Faith by Dr Mustafa as Sibaaie
The preaching of Islam by T W Arnold
Christians and Jews under Islam by Youssef Courbage
I could go on but these seem like good starters. Book by S.E. AL Djazairi are brilliant.

Ones knowledge on Islamic History is not complete without reading "The Muqaddimah", by Ibn Khaldun the 14th century Arab historian and sociologists. Who may have been the inventor of what we now call the social sciences.
Also, "Arab, A 3000 year History of Peoples, Tribes and Empires", by Tim Mackintosh-Smith, is a good read.

I dont know of any monographs on the subject. Hodgson and Lapidus that I mentioned in the video touch on those subjects.
