I was told Regular Unleaded works just fine, haven't had any issues, but I'm not racing it, and fact is, I kind of baby mine, it's a collector car for me! It see's NO RAIN!!! Mine is in excellent condition and it's a fantastic ride!!!

It has a cold air intake like yours, Z06 satin black wheels, and dark tint windows. drives amazing, very quick, and comfortable. Good luck with yours, and thanks for the video.

    I've had Corvettes all my life. Bought an Arctic White 6 speed for my xmas present in 2015. I was seeking to buy a WRX wagon for my son when I spotted the White C-5 in the back of the lot. It's rare to see white ones for some reason so I went and looked inside the 6-gate is always what I look for. Then after looking under and around and inside. I couldn't find anything wrong no repaint interior ( light saddle) was immaculate. The car had every option available except the speed line wheels. It did get the factory polished ones. Then I saw the sticker and the mileage. 13,999 and 79,000 miles for a 16 year old car? So I worked a deal for both vehicles the Vette even got a 5 yr 50,000 mile warranty. After enjoying the crap out of it for about 1 month and around 1000 miles, before the first payment. A 53' tractor trailer drove over me in the rain in traffic one morning. After fighting with the insurance company and disputes with H.P about accident fault being mine. Was doing maybe 20 in first in a downpour in my lane when the rig drove over my right front fender ripping the ecm and tac module offs well as crushing the upper control arm and the magnetic ride shocks. The insurance company wanted to total it. I had sourced everything it needed on Ebay in correct body color no repaint needed for less than two Grand. It took the loan company to intervene and force the insurance company hand. I ended up after all the refunds on insurance and warranty etc. Sending them 800.00. I the fixed the suspension and right front tire in one weekend for around 600.00. I zip tied the ripped panels together and did some Frankenstein tac module and ecm work with a soldering iron and have since put almost 60,000 miles. On it I still drive around with the body damage. The frame was unaffected by the event. I beat the crap out of that thing every day. Hands down in my 57 years of life and owning literally hundreds of cars, currently 18, 4 trailer, 2 boats and a motorcycle, including the bug eye WRX wagon, the best car I've ever owned. I drove from LA to Reno in it for Hot August Nights two years on a row and averaged 28.4 MPG first year and 28.8 the second doing triple digits at times and burn outs. They have their quirks and mine doesn't like the rain for some reason. I'll try to post pictures of before ad after and the truck. They ran on the Twitter, I believe the day of the accident.

It has been a life changing experience. I’m only 39. My dreams of owning a corvette now are basically done. I’m living in my parents living room patiently waiting for my rehabilitation process to get me were I need to be. I won’t bore you anymore my man. I have owned a C5 Coupe before and the Michelin Run-Flats (do not recall the model of tire) are both more durable and quieter than the Goodyear F1 tires which are well known to be noisy amd wear out quickly. I am in the process of looking at C5s again. They are GREAT cars and a HOOT to drive and own. Never had any major issues with the car other than the window regulator going out which apparently is common with these as well as water leaks due to the rubber molding wearing out. I could not do an automatic though because the manual is WAY more fun.

    The C 5 was one of the best Vettes made (in my opinion). It was/is beautiful, comfortable, and pretty reliable for a GM car. I drove a 2003 Vette for 10 years. However, it was expensive to maintain For example, a door part cost 3 times the price of a regular GM door part. Get those old runflats off and replace them with modern runflats or Michelin Pilots. I would love another one but with a 20+ old Vette you need a good mechanic and a cheap source for parts.

    Correct me if I’m wrong bc I’m in the market for a c5, but, you do not HAVE to run premium in an ls1 with this drive train. That being said the power difference is huge as well as the way the car runs is way better with premium. My close friend has an 01 transam with the ls1, and he runs 87 and the car runs fine. It runs better and goes faster on premium but for daily driving at low rpm on a stock car (intake and exhaust only) it runs fine. When we go to the drag strip he runs 93 no ethanol and the car really opens up.

    • @carstechandmore8278
      @carstechandmore8278  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would always run premium in the LS1. You can run 87 but it feels like a dog cause the computer is correcting for it and making it safe by cutting timing so basically cutting power back. I always ran premium

    I almost bought a 1999 corvette this last weekend. It had just over 20,000 original miles and was garaged its entire life.
    I'll give you $11K right now (kidding, enjoy this bad boy (or girl). I'll take my time and find a car that fits me. I do worry about climate change and may get a sporty ethic. The charging stations are spread out in the northern Colorado/Wyoming area at this time. The 1999 and 1987 are the better years for the price.
    How's your insurance cost on the 1999? I'd probably pay outright to avoid the required extra cost.

    Beautiful seats, lovely car. Wanted this car since I was a little kid. Mostly worried about the mileage here in Sweden and getting spareparts cheap/making sure the car is in a good condition.
    Probably gonna buy one in 2 years. Though I was thinking of a porsche 944 turbo . Still watching the video buy so sorry if this comes up but any tips from you (or anyone else?) on what to look out for after driving it for a while?
    - also wow, your Corvette has the same mileage as my Volvo S40 xD That's wicked. Though I drive in an urban area mostly so I guess that impacts it a bit.
