He looks like the boyfriend in that meme where he has to play piano while his girlfriend's family sings along, and they're all having a blast, and he looks like he wants to die.
@@jdpatrick1106 the story of Elphaba in Wicked is that peoplrle hated her so much because she's different that people created rumors that she is really ugly, so is her sister who eventually became the Wicked Witch of the East. When in fact, the sisters arr actually beautiful.
JD Patrick I like to imagine that if they had costumes and makeup, these would communicate the message that she is ugly. And then Jessica’s doing this prettily would seem probably a little off. Then when she transforms it will be a great “oh THAT’S why!” moment. You see, this is who she was all along, we just saw her as something worse than what she really was...which is what everyone else in the story did too. I know that’s a LOT of imagination, but I think it’d be really cool.
Jack's mother in particular drew me in immediately. I absolutely adore her! That said, this whole cast is fantastic, I'd watch a full production (hopefully with the lost characters not shown here!) in a heartbeat!
This is what we are going to miss if the performing arts continue to be ignored. The sheer talent in this 13 minute video is phenomenal. Not just the vocals but the acting skills (watch the step-sisters). Performers doing what they do and in the face of adversity and fear of the future. Bravo all. I would be happy to watch the whole show like this. I hope Mr Sondheim has seen this. It shows that a great score doesn't need elaborate sets and costumes, just talent. Well done also to Max Grossman. Brilliant musician.
Okay I was in pit orchestra for into the woods but PLAYING THE SAME NOTE OVER AND OVER DROVE ME INSANE YOU HAVE NO IDEA AHHHH but I loved the musical so much
The genius of Stephen Sondheim shines, even in its minimalist form. Bravo to the actors, and Mr. Grossman for your brilliant accompaniment. Well worth a donation.
As someone who just recently finished a production of this in person, I know that a lot of the musical accompaniment requires cues from the performers, and I'm just in awe of how they managed to nail every single one, despite probably recording a lot of these tracks separately. I don't know how they did it, but mad props to the director and editing team for making this as smooth as it is.
Of course Sondheim holds up regardless if it's full orchestra or just piano. But as a pianist who's played several Sondheim shows, Max Grossman is a BRILLIANT player. It takes someone of this kind of talent to make the audience forget there aren't 15 players in the pit.
This brought the best memories back. I was a short freshman girl playing Jack's mother and my 'son's was a super tall senior and it was the best thing haha. I had to drag him around by the ear and he had to lean down so that I could reach his ear. Good times looking back!!!
I LOVED THIS!!! so cool! Jessica Vosk absolutely KILLED her version of the Witch!! also I still can't comprehend how Andrew is my age and this talented.
It’s cool how Nancy Opel did this project as Jacks mother and now has gone on to be the stepmother in the Into The Woods revival on Broadway right now.
I'm a huge fan of the original version (actually anything Into the Woods, but especially the original) and watch it at least once a month (in fact, I just watched the production today and this was on my recommended), so I know the quirks of the intonations of the lines by heart. It's absolutely crazy to me how familiar some of these deliveries sound. In love! Such a great adaptation!
Another former Cinderellas's father here! Was just about to comment the same thing! Our lines were few but when they did come around, they were good ones...the closer to the family, the closer to the wine. :)
Let’s say they did the movie version....well, i can’t even say that cause they have the other parts that were cut from the movie so why did they cut Cinderella’s father booooooooooo! Still a great performance tho.
Everyone was stellar! And this is the best witch I’ve ever seen!! I’ve seen this show more than any other, and I’ve never seen the witch interpreted this way. Loooove it!!
"For all that I know she's already dead" is always one of my favorite lines. Also I'd love to see a production that isn't all white actors just like this.
Can we PLEASE petition for Andrew, Samantha, and Jessica to be in the next production of Into the Woods, they're perfect. The stepsisters were great too.
Ok but can we talk about whoever EDITED this all together?!? Every character would have been filmed separately. To put all that together to make this is just 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks so much for using your talent for a good cause. I sometimes think I could stop working on musicals, but I know I would miss the musical talent, singers and musicians.
Ok but can we talk about the pianist?!? Everyone is so incredibly talented I’m in awe.
Alexandra Fonseca I want to get him a pedal for his forScore

Omg so true LoL
Ella Angel that would be me
You have to give it to the piano man, he doesn’t miss a beat.
Yeah and into the woods is freakin hard music!
he's probably the only one playing by himself, the singers all match his tempo
can we talk about the witches breath control like...
She played Elphaba on Broadway for years, she's insanely talented!
Jessica Vosk is incredible. I saw her as Elphaba. Literally everything she does is awesome
Ehh, sure?

You should see her as Elphaba 😌💅
They need to do a version of Your Fault! That would be great!

I loved her filing her nails.
SHE NAILED IT!!!

Little red when she brought out the white bread loooool.
This is excellent. Great work.
Going the whole extra mile with costume and props!
Seeing as everyone is so appropriately casted and killing it, you guys are gonna put this on post-quarantine right?
I'm still waiting for this yes
It looks like the actress playing Jack's Mother, Nancy Opel, is going to be in the Broadway Revival this Summer. Not sure about the others though.
YES
this was supposed to be my high school’s spring musical........I’m totally not crying
Condolences - truly.
me too... we worked so hard
A moment of silence for all those hours of rehearsal time gone for so many spring musicals this year
same, I was so excited for the performance too.
"This show starts with 12 people on stage, and they all want something different."
The pianists skills, the witches acting, and Cinderella’s voice added 10 years to my lifespan
Jack's mother in particular drew me in immediately. I absolutely adore her! That said, this whole cast is fantastic, I'd watch a full production (hopefully with the lost characters not shown here!) in a heartbeat!
His parents died in a baking accident 😆omg I forgot about that line completely
If this group did "Your Fault" that would be amazing. Absolutely love this!
I just love Cinderella's step sisters, both actresses are hilarious.... the festivaaaaaalllll hahahaha lol
Me too

"ThE kInG's FeStIvAl?!" I LOL'D!
Jessica Vosk’s Witches Rap was everything I didn’t know I needed
Jessica Vosk always and forever is a queen...and witch
The witches rap, is darn hard to sing
red riding hood casually holding two slices of bread at 3:45 made my day
damn i'd see this group do the whole show
The pianist and the editor are definitely the unsung heroes of this video

Jessica Vosk as the witch is EVERYTHING! she put her all in this.
Love this interpretation of the witch. She’s more neurotic or something. JV is 👑
No matter what witch Jessica Vosk plays, she SLAYS.
The genius of Stephen Sondheim shines, even in its minimalist form. Bravo to the actors, and Mr. Grossman for your brilliant accompaniment. Well worth a donation.
I wish, more than anything, more than life...
*IS THE ABILITY TO SING AS BEAUTIFULLY AS THESE GUYS*
How in sync they are astonishes me omg
Love, love, love!!! So good. Everyone was brilliant. Who do I have to pay to hear Andrew sing Giants in the Sky?
Brad S meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee PLEASE 😂
can i like this post a million times?
I was worried about the witch but Jessica Vosk had all the feels especially with the Elphie backdrop. Love it.
Little red riding hood really came out with the costume and props!
As someone who just recently finished a production of this in person, I know that a lot of the musical accompaniment requires cues from the performers, and I'm just in awe of how they managed to nail every single one, despite probably recording a lot of these tracks separately. I would literally empty my bank account to see them preform this live. Ugh JV is spectacular in EVERYTHING she does
Please, bring INto THE wOODS, to the West End wih this cast, after the lock down
Jessica Vosk - aw man this is one of my favorite performances of the witch’s rap. It’s so choice! 👍🏾

Petition for a new Broadway revival with this cast once this all blows over

The picture behind Jessica is such a nice touch. ❤️
Standouts: Cinderalal (wow!), Cow lady, and what an incredible pianist! Clean, sharp, impeccable playing. So impressed.
We need Jessica Vosk as The Witch in the next revival. She is so amazing
The two girls who played the stepsisters were amazing. So was everyone else.
THIS IS INSANE HOW IS THIS CAST SO PERFECT
EVERYONE'S VOICES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL

The Baker and his wife.
That harmonizing is so beautiful.
Talk about setting the freaking standard of quarantine theater! Absolutely incredible!
As a former Cinderella's Father, I am offended that you cut his line

To be fair the cut out the step-mother's line as well, even replacing one of her lines with one of the sisters.
Oh wow, i loved the witch's acting so funny
Jessica Vosk absolutely killed this
THE LADY WHO PLAYED CIDIRELLA WAS AWSOME
Jesus!!! These voices!!! And the melanin SLAYAGE!!! 🙌🏾🔥
I would direct this production in a heartbeat. Thanks, everyone, for honoring my favorite musical!
Wow! Excellent. The pianist is awesome..there's some intricate phrasing.
Jessica Vosk with the subtle Elphaba photo in the background. Yessss bissshhhhh
This is perfection! Andrew! Jessica! Sammie! So amazing and so much talent!
Jessica, I'm sure you're a lovely person, but you make a fantastic witch. Twice. Type-casted, really. But amazing.
i did NOT expect to see jessica vosk in this but i'm living for it
