  • To master artist and painter, Nathan Fowkes, pictorial composition is an underestimated, unappreciated part of art, so it's only fitting that Nathan starts this series by getting to the core of composition. He talks to Bobby about why he loves composition, some subtle, elegant ways to guide the viewer's eye, and how good composition can save you if other parts of your work get messed up.

This was very insightful! I love the explanation and exploration of using texture to draw the eye. It made me think of breaking down the sense of sight into several of its own senses.

I’m a bit unsure in which order is the best way of going through the courses. I’ve started with Fundamentals of Light, which I’m very happy with. There is another Sam Nielsen course for Design, and than Tonko House Course, aaand than Environmental Design of Fawkes, which seems to be a bit advanced. Composition should be somewhere in Between I guess :/

Schoolism is missing out on making money by their not releasing DVD's of their lessons, to the point of appearing as if they're not really out to teach students of art. Instead forcing students to pay monthly and annual fees as hostages for the privilege of learning. This is not wise.
