Damn dude. You were incredibly lucky there.
I've worked with grinders on a daily basis for over 15 years and have an incredible amount of respect for them for reasons like this.
I would always clamp the workpiece and not the grinder. Seeing you even pulled it out of its clamp. It could have been even worse if hit came out while still being turned on.

I was indeed very lucky :) I've clamped the grinder in the vise because it was easier to clean the part, but it would be much safer with a bench grinder... But i've learned my lesson here 😅

@@restoringaclassic9489 indeed. Well that is one of the better ways to learn. From your mistakes.
Your clips are nice to watch btw.

Scary but good that you shared. We all need a reminder of how things can go wrong.
Looking at your other videos, it strikes me there's very little
Knuckle Rash. Now I know why you've learned the hard way to be calm and methodical.
😮 keep up the great work

So many things wrong here. Good video.
Just for people who do not know:
Standing in the debris field. Cutting into the edge. Not wearing kevlar or leather gloves. Guard in the wrong spot. Hand is way to close to 11_000RPM wheel. That is 147 mph or 236 kph spin. Grinder mounted to table up side down. And this is what guys do everyday across the globe. Good video.

Pulling remaining glove when grinder is turned off but still plugged into socket is also scary.

Not the smartest thing to do with a angle grinder, that is why they make bench grinders, but I've done this before. just like in real life this scared the crap out of me too.

I assume leather gloves would not have gotten caught? Lots of debate on glove or no glove, cloth is definitely a no-no as shown.

How did the grinder stop or is there a pressure trigger somewhere like by your foot?

When the glove got stuck I've turned the grinder off with my other hand :) The grinder was also not on its max speed setting, that helped too I think 😋

Go buy a lotto ticket. That was a very lucky save! And I don’t think the safety talk is needed on this one.. you fought the grinder and you won.
