    I bought a very similar, if not exact fan around 2007. I have run the fan almost every evening while I sleep and it is still going today. Beyond that I must imagine my fan has seen 8-10 hours of work 360 days a year. BEST FAN imho.

      I got a cheap fan from a local store . Ran it every day for 3-10 hrs.
      It fell to bits before it stopped working.
      That was 15 years ago . Just bought the honeywell. Gets delivered monday.

      Yeah I cant really complain. although its to bad it wasnt attached a bit better where the bottom of the pole meets the base. Mine ended up breaking right there

    I like that it is relatively quiet for how much air it moves. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxmj9RYGCX25BElHkuWjHec-2_muyUGyCm Was easy to put together. Note: The spindle cap is threaded backwards to keep it from spinning off during use, so remember to turn it the "other way". I also like that the lights, which are quite bright, turn off after a few moments so they do not bother me at night. The remote has to be aimed just right, but does work.

    The bottom part of the fan (that's on the floor) looks pretty cool too, because it is shaped like a star. :D

    Does it still work ? And if going with a thermal fused fan and stuff, i would recommend a 90s one over new ones

      In the UK, it's GB£65.09 which is approximately US$97 (ninety-seven) from Amazon UK.

    Hey ..I bought this fan and it's really quiet ,even on high speed it isn't bad..I love it !
    Can you make a video showing us how to oil it ?
    Thanks !

    • @hobbycentral3516
      @hobbycentral3516  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +ThunderLightenBolt I do have a video on how to oil a stand fan which is pretty much the same thing, I think it's called (lets tear it apart, regular fan) or something along those lines.
      I will probably make another video of oiling a fan someday because there are a couple of things I would like to add.

    You know how these have motors that make the fan tilt left and right, up and down? After I stop it from tilting with the remote, canI adjust the way it's facing by turning it with my hand? Would it break something? I hope my question os clear.

    • @hobbycentral3516
      @hobbycentral3516  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can with some fans. If does so with little resistance than it's most likely ok. You will probably here a clicking sound , but again, if you can turn it with little resistance, it wont hurt it.

  • @lorette2443
    @lorette2443 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    My pedestal fan blade-cage always drops downwards even after I try to adjust it straight, it always faces slightly downwards. Can to tell me how to fix it?

    • @hobbycentral3516
      @hobbycentral3516  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does it use a nob that you tighten to hold it in place or is it the click type? if it's the click type then try to tighten the screw the the top of the fan pivots on. I'v had success with that

  • @loum1678

    Hi. I see you published this video a bit more than a year ago. Is the fan still working ? The reviews that i read on Amazon was that this fan was amazing at first, but a lot of user reported that it stopped working after a bit over a year. Its why i was wondering if yours is still working ? From your comments, the fan seem a bit cheap in terms of materials.
    Also, its advertised as quiet, wich is what i was looking for (to be able to sleep with it and watch tv without boosting the tv sound). Is the sound level really lower than the other fans ? To the point of paying more than 50$ ?
    Thank you.

    • @hobbycentral3516
      @hobbycentral3516  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ***** Yeah it's still working great. Although i'v only used it for a year. but it was used everyday for at least 12 hours a day. The only issue i'm having with it this year is the stand to pedestal connection broke over the winter while in storage. My mom basically pushed the fan over to the side with the door it was sitting next to. I think It's a decent quality fan except for that part. If you get one be careful not to bump the fan to badly.
      It is just as noisy as any other fan on the higher speeds, but on the 2 lowest settings it is basically unhearable. Although even on the higher settings it is a little quieter then some other fans.

    I'm afraid that that fan won't last you very long. It's plastic and cheaply made! The Cozy Breeze from Lowe's would probably be a lot more durable and reliable. It's an all metal 16 inch stand fan.

    • @boc234
      @boc234 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sammy Reedy Is it as quiet as this fan?

    • @Sammy2012ify
      @Sammy2012ify 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      boc234, not sure! But, it is not much louder than that fan! It does not matter if the fan is just a little bit loud. Consider the longevity as well. The Honeywell stand fan won't last over 2 years. The Cozy Breeze from Lowe's will last 10 years or more! I do have some fans similar to the Cozy Breeze from Lowe's. How about you watch my video titled "Galaxy Stand Fan Vs Holmes Metal Stand Fan." After you watch that, you'll know exactly what kind of fan to buy!

    • @TwistedRealisations
      @TwistedRealisations 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would normally agree with you but Honeywell offer a 3 year warranty on this one so they must believe it will last a long time.

    I'm extremely disappointed in this fan.
    It lasted less than 4 months. It will beep when you push the on button - but will not turn on anymore. What a disappointment. I will never touch HONEYWELL products again.

    These Honeywell fans are nice when they're new, but after owning four of them I notice they last about a year before the motor starts failing. Compare that to two Vornado 660's which I've had running continuously for over 4 years. Different types of fans though but I'll pay extra for quality.

    • @wrinkleneckbass
      @wrinkleneckbass 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Alexthefancollector Walker Nah, I threw out my Honeywell fans and replaced them with Rowenta VU5670 fans. Like my Vornados, I've had these things running non-stop for years and they're still like new. I just wash the fan assembly every few months to get rid of dust. I never have to touch the motor.
