      Is he in training to be a concert pianist or to enter one of those big music competitions. He's far far too good to only be doing this for fun.

    • @Htfsik
      @Htfsik 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      He does play well. His playing is very crisp and he doesn’t rely on the sustaining pedal. And his choices are sometimes unique and really makes you pay attention.
      Will needs three things to get the notice he deserves.
      (1) Better mics, placed better.
      (2) A better piano. Apologies, but his current piano is a bit thin. Maybe another crack at voicing the hammers? Maybe someone can lend him a fancy Yamaha (I suspect he might like the tonal separation there), or maybe a C. Bechstein? I know, it’s an unfair comment because it’s such an expensive one.
      (3) Shirts.
      Ok, I’m kidding with the last one. The hoodies are endearing.

    I absolutely adore this format, it could without a doubt be the next big thing introducing classical music to new audiences. I think a major barrier to potential new listeners is exactly the things you resolve with it: a lack of understanding of form, music theory, the context of the composer, etc. You explaining all these things in a concise, fun and never condescending way not only massively heightens the understanding and thus enjoyment for "non-initiated" people, it also directly contradicts the image that many sadly have of classical music being snobby, too complex to enjoy or purely academic and lacking emotion. There's just enough information to provide context without being overwhelming or too detailed, and your personal commentary is a very welcome touch; you achieve the perfect balance between opinions/humour and useful tidbits to make for very engaging content.
    Amazing job on this piece (and all your other videos), I certainly hope you'll keep making them - with time I see you having a Twoset-level impact on the image of classical music! There's definitely a niche to be filled as far as people who want to get into classical music but are overwhelmed by the scale/aren't yet skilled into looking deeper into pieces.
    P.S. I'd definitely keep the section guide on the left side, it's very helpful.

    • @angelgilm
      @angelgilm ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Agree with all your comment. And I'd also keep the 'you are here' map. Not only it doesn't distract at all, but it gives a great context.
      Maybe the only drawback I find is the position of the comments, which are hidden by the YT bar.
      Will, your channel is amazing. Thankyou.

It's interesting to read the subtitle, I always look forward to your classical jokes 😂😂 I can even learn about the music at the same time, you explained the music very well.
    Your contents are not boring, and I think these reasons are what make your contents different from the other pianist even tho you both play the same music. Thank you for your hard work, and I will always look forward to your channel! I enjoyed watching this~
