Jaguar XK was a nice looking car and will be a classic sought after car in the future because there were very few sold because people bought alternatives due to Jaguar reliability / depreciation reputation.
I Still have my 2004 calfornia red XKR. Only ever buy shoes and battery for her and she's a real headturner. Constantly see people getting pictures along side it. Love that car.
Those bikes are great for the summer I can do 50 to 60 miles on one charge but if I'm on the throttle all the time and not using the pedal assist the mileage would go down. Your jaguar looked so cool
Blimey, I’d not bother rushing back to rainy / cold UK! If I had kept all the cars I’d wish I’d kept I’d need a big yard. I bought an imported blood orange 1968 911T from the states years ago, paid 6k for it, lovely thing but had to sell it to buy my first house as I couldn’t afford the deposit. I got 8k for it and at the time thought I’d done well. Now similar cars are 60k plus.

I own a XKR 5.0 supercharged for 8 years now, unfortunately I’ve only done 300 miles in the last four years as all my European adventures are now on motorcycles. We toured Europe on several occasions having a absolute hoot racing around looking for Ferrari, Lamborghini and other exotica to race, Mine is not restricted so I’ve had 170mph, I believe it can do 186 mph 😮. I will sell it you for a good price 😂😂😂 There is a video on my channel of me going around a very empty Monaco circuit at 6am one morning and also racing the Stelvio pass in it.

I bought that "baby blue" ( of course they officially call it Halcyon Grey ) 350 this past November to go along with my Bonnie T120. Originally I had my eye on the Halcyon Green one. I brought my girlfriend into town ( Seattle ) to buy it, but she spotted the blue one and insisted I get that one instead. Well, the power of love prevailed...
Dude these videos just get better and better. And what a beautiful pat of the world! Really enjoyed the tours of the shops especially the Royal Enfield Dealer… their Marketing is similar to how Indian sets up their shops….super classy and they are hands down pros at Marketing their products:) I’m an Indian Scout Bobber owner here in the States but recently have grown more and more interested in Royal Enfields as we now have a dealer in my hometown here in Eugene Oregon. Thank you both for taking the time to make such quality videos….In a world sometimes filled with Chaos you guys are a really special peaceful and relaxing place to escape to:)

Thank you Freddie for saying out loud how good looking the classic 350 is in ‘baby blue’ (Halcyon Grey), this is the one that I opted for, it seems to be a deeply unpopular colour where I live (SW France), the dealer had only sold one other in that colour previous to the many they had sold in all the other colour combinations until mine. They liked it so much that they now have one in their showroom To me it is the quintessential colour for such a classic looking bike, bikes don’t have to look butch or aggressive all the time, pretty is okay too. Funny how cars get to us, my dream car was a 1992 Jaguar V12 with styling by Pininfarina, gorgeous car, but I just couldn’t afford the upkeep, and then I moved to France so decided to part with it. Never mind, motorbikes are the more affordable indulgence. Love the videos.

I’m not exaggerating- I spent five minutes looking at it like it was a Picasso painting!😍 Monika did film me saying “this is the best looking bike on the market”, but she deleted it as she said I was over excited. I stand by it- it is the best looking bike on the market (in my humble eyes)😍 Ahhh the V12 Jag… and the south of France- this would be too perfect a combination!

Am I the only former motorbike rider who really doesn't "get" electric bicycles? They've been around a long time, (1890s) as an alternative for people who were prejudiced against "noisy, smelly, dirty" motorbikes. No, I don't look forward to electric motorbikes, and I'm glad to have been alive in the only period of history when we could enjoy the sight, sound and smell of a "bicycle" with an internal combustion engine.
I think you may genuinely actually be in good company with your opinion- quite a few people seem to feel the same. Appreciate your input- great to hear your thoughts🙂
I agree about electric bikes. Too much emphasis on performance at the moment. Forget 150 mph and 100 mile range. 50 hp and 200 miles please, at an affordable price, looking like a Bonnie or Royal Enfield. Who can afford the current crop? Good watch. Thanks for sharing Safe, happy travels 👍

I have a Halcyon Grey Classic, exactly like the one in this video. It does actually look blue, and from memory I feel it matches a Merc 280SE I owned in the 90s. That one was I think called pastel blue. The classic 350 is a fantastic bike, and the only downside is you can't stop on the street and get your shopping done without having a couple of conversations with passer-by's wanting to know about the bike.
Just come across this one young Freddie. Sadly that’s the fate of so many Jaguars - bought cheap and then folk can’t afford to maintain them. Next time you buy a Jag take me with you!!!! Do you want to try my F Pace SVR - 5.0 litre 550 hp?? Seriously you could do a vlog on it!
Stop, stop, stop. We have way to much in common. Both love Motorbikes, both love Jags (I currently own two, 69 E-Type and a 03 XK8) both drive Fiats as our daily drivers, and lastly. Both love Shantaram.
Electric bicycles: what's wrong with pedalling? We certainly are going to miss petrol bikes when/if everything is electrified. What a dreadful prospect. It's interesting that 10 years ago diesel was regarded as green. But I'm going to make sure that I have a couple of old-school, air-cooled bikes at my disposal, which is why I have changed my decision regarding selling the 1670cc MT-01. I am keeping it ad infinitum for use in Portugal. It will never wear out. I like RE Classic 350 in the desert sand or army green. I was trying to work out whether the blue bike was a Caballero, then you confirmed it. 24:07 - original R80G/S. I can't think of one RE that I'd want. J-bikes for me. Another great video.

There is a company doing universal removable batteries already. I don’t know about range but you swap them out at “vending machines”. I think they’re for scooters at the moment.
Freddie, what’s the point of owning an electric bike, it costs more to charge per mile than a petrol one. I own a hybrid car, I stopped charging on the 1st of October, I just run it on petrol, it’s cheaper! I’m enjoying your videos , keep it up.

Thankfully my dream car is out of reach, I know I'd bankrupt myself if I ever got it, just keeping it on the road. There were quite a few electric bikes at the NEC, but none were of any interest. I had a Jag and had to get rid of it because it was diesel and would have cost me an extra 12.50 a day to drive in London. That's why I got a motorbike!

Loved the RE showroom and agree totally on some of the best showrooms out there. Had a little chuckle when you mentioned a kick starter not having on new bikes, I remember your efforts/troubles kick starting a adams 350 😂. How cool are these Royal Enfield dealerships. I went only yesterday to one in the UK after getting them to get me the classic 350 in halcyon green in . But when I got there I felt torn between a lovely blue 500 bullet with only 1200 miles on 🥴. Anyway I had your voice ringing in my ears about the 350 so decided on that. And ordered some cool canvas panniers in olive green. Looking forward to your next video.👍

Ahh thanks for highlighting this. I bought an upgraded microphone wire and I accidentally had the settings turn on on just half of the outputs. I had an old bullet with the iron head engine done out in military style. It had my grandfathers unit and army numbers in as a tribute to him , a ww2 despatch rider killed in the war. A great fun bike with many smiles per gallon. To anyone fancying one I would say you need to be a confident home mechanic as they take a lot of regular work to keep them going. I have ridden the newer classic 500’s but to me they lacked the soul of the old bike. Thanks for sharing your trip.

Flash news "Economist concludes the recession is over soon, if Freddie eats cake at current rate" Barcelona is such a gorgeous city and you have perfect off-season timing. That Raynor ebike shop was just as sophisticated in interior design as the RE dealership, beautiful. I think you're spot on regarding product design of ebikes showing a path forward. One major issue for electric motorbikes is weight, though. You can't have both a heavy battery and a beautifully sculpted mot-able casing for it, unless it's plastic. And with plastic, you loose a lot of the attraction.

Oh Freddie, c’mon mate, Royal Enfields an investment opportunity. No, get onto Ducatis and then your talking investment potential. REs are made in India and to a out of date formula, cheap and pretty average. Ducatis on the other hand are superbly engineered, beautifully made and classic bevel Ducatis have gone through the roof re investment values. My brother in law’s ‘74 750 Super Sport which he paid $40k some years ago is now valued at over $100K. Similarly his ‘73 750 GT which is awesome he paid $7500 many years ago is now valued at well over $40K and so on. If you want a more modern but still classic looking Ducati one should get onto the Sport Classic 1000 as per the movie Tron. These regularly go for $30-50K plus. And then there are bikes like the 748, 916, 996 etc, all with huge investment potential. No RE has remotely such investment potential or rides and sounds as awesome as these bikes. And don’t get me started on the most over rated piece of crap known as Hardly Furguson, the biggest pile of garbage on the road. Barcelona on the other hand looks so lovely, and I can only imagine how enjoyable your time living there has been.

The only point I was attempting to make is that while the history of the brand is British, it’s not made there anymore but rather in another country and in context to this a concern re Freddie’s comments made regarding such a bike’s investment value which in my view is inaccurate. But yes I accept I could have said this better without the inference to India and concerns over the actual quality of the bike. I hope that makes sense.
It was a glorious few months of ownership Mike- I really do genuinely mean it. It turned every drive into the most incredibly feel good event. But it crippled me financially for a whole year. I desperately want to buy one again!

Hi Freddie , I worked in a Jaguar dealership for 23 years, generally these cars were very robust. I went to the launch in Nice in feb 2006( from memory) , I suspect looking at the 55 Reg number I would think it may have been a pre production / time trial build or a press car, A fabulous car and one of the last cars truly worthy of the Jaguar name...
I've a 2017 500 Classic in chrome and black (my second) and a 2019 Himalayan, both cracking bikes that get a lot of use, the Classic as our favourite 'pillion potterer' and the Himmy as my ride anywhere any when explorer. I've a few bikes from a Hunter Club 125 and GSXR1000k1 and a few Guzzis as well but the Enfields are up there as my favourite ever bikes. Anyhoo, yet another hugely enjoyable video Freddie, informative, fun, interesting and of course stylish 👍😎
Freddie made me google the XK8. There are examples of used models in the US. Very reasonably priced. And there's a reason for that. The Jaguar XK8 Reliability Rating is 2.5 out of 5. It ranks 29th out of 32 for all car brands. OUCH! In the word of the legendary Scotty Kilmer. The XK8 is a money pit.

In Europe the law says the motor can only assist when pedalling to be considered a bicycle. So no throttles

Electric bikes!!!? Are you insane?!!
Am I the only former motorbike rider who really doesn't "get" electric bicycles? They've been around a long time, (1890s) as an alternative for people who were prejudiced against "noisy, smelly, dirty" motorbikes. No, I don't look forward to electric motorbikes, and I'm glad to have been alive in the only period of history when we could enjoy the sight, sound and smell of a "bicycle" with an internal combustion engine.
I think you may genuinely actually be in good company with your opinion- quite a few people seem to feel the same. Appreciate your input- great to hear your thoughts🙂
I agree about electric bikes.
Too much emphasis on performance at the moment. Forget 150 mph and 100 mile range. 50 hp and 200 miles please, at an affordable price, looking like a Bonnie or Royal Enfield.

I have a Halcyon Grey Classic, exactly like the one in this video. It does actually look blue, and from memory I feel it matches a Merc 280SE I owned in the 90s. That one was I think called pastel blue. The classic 350 is a fantastic bike, and the only downside is you can't stop on the street and get your shopping done without having a couple of conversations with passer-by's wanting to know about the bike.

E-Type and a 03 XK8) both drive Fiats as our daily drivers, and lastly. Both love Shantaram.
Electric bicycles: what's wrong with pedalling? We certainly are going to miss petrol bikes when/if everything is electrified. What a dreadful prospect. It's interesting that 10 years ago diesel was regarded as green. But I'm going to make sure that I have a couple of old-school, air-cooled bikes at my disposal, which is why I have changed my decision regarding selling the 1670cc MT-01. I am keeping it ad infinitum for use in Portugal. It will never wear out. I like RE Classic 350 in the desert sand or army green. I was trying to work out whether the blue bike was a Caballero, then you confirmed it. 24:07 - original R80G/S. I can't think of one RE that I'd want. J-bikes for me.

There is a company doing universal removable batteries already. I don’t know about range but you swap them out at “vending machines”. I think they’re for scooters at the moment.

Freddie, what’s the point of owning an electric bike, it costs more to charge per mile than a petrol one. I own a hybrid car, I stopped charging on the 1st of October, I just run it on petrol, it’s cheaper!

Thankfully my dream car is out of reach, I know I'd bankrupt myself if I ever got it, just keeping it on the road. There were quite a few electric bikes at the NEC, but none were of any interest. I just don't see electric as the future for motorcycles maybe for replacing bicycles. Have a great last few days, and don't forget to bring some sun back with you 👍😄

I had a Jag and had to get rid of it because it was diesel and would have cost me an extra 12.50 a day to drive in London. That's why I got a motorbike!

Great video yet again 👌 loved those retro electric bicycles, that’s where the electric generation should be imo rather than motorcycles. Loved the RE showroom and agree totally on some of the best showrooms out there. Had a little chuckle when you mentioned a kick starter not having on new bikes, I remember your efforts/troubles kick starting a adams 350 😂. Have a great journey back to U.K. tomorrow and catch up soon. I’m down near your dads again on 7,8,9th December one last run before Christmas 👍

How cool are these Royal Enfield dealerships. I went only yesterday to one in the UK after getting them to get me the classic 350 in halcyon green in . But when I got there I felt torn between a lovely blue 500 bullet with only 1200 miles on 🥴. Anyway I had your voice ringing in my ears about the 350 so decided on that. And ordered some cool canvas panniers in olive green. Looking forward to your next video.👍

In my case it was a 911 cabriolet. Had it for the best 6 months of my life, then sold it and bought a house with the dosh.

Ahh thanks for highlighting this. I bought an upgraded microphone wire and I accidentally had the settings turn on on just half of the outputs. I had an old bullet with the iron head engine done out in military style. It had my grandfathers unit and army numbers in as a tribute to him , a ww2 despatch rider killed in the war. A great fun bike with many smiles per gallon. To anyone fancying one I would say you need to be a confident home mechanic as they take a lot of regular work to keep them going. I have ridden the newer classic 500’s but to me they lacked the soul of the old bike. Thanks for sharing your trip.

Barcelona is such a gorgeous city and you have perfect off-season timing. That Raynor ebike shop was just as sophisticated in interior design as the RE dealership, beautiful. I think you're spot on regarding product design of ebikes showing a path forward. One major issue for electric motorbikes is weight, though. You can't have both a heavy battery and a beautifully sculpted mot-able casing for it, unless it's plastic. And with plastic, you loose a lot of the attraction.

Oh Freddie, c’mon mate, Royal Enfields an investment opportunity. No, get onto Ducatis and then your talking investment potential. REs are made in India and to a out of date formula, cheap and pretty average. Ducatis on the other hand are superbly engineered, beautifully made and classic bevel Ducatis have gone through the roof re investment values. My brother in law’s ‘74 750 Super Sport which he paid $40k some years ago is now valued at over $100K. Similarly his ‘73 750 GT which is awesome he paid $7500 many years ago is now valued at well over $40K and so on. If you want a more modern but still classic looking Ducati one should get onto the Sport Classic 1000 as per the movie Tron. These regularly go for $30-50K plus. And then there are bikes like the 748, 916, 996 etc, all with huge investment potential. No RE has remotely such investment potential or rides and sounds as awesome as these bikes. And don’t get me started on the most over rated piece of crap known as Hardly Furguson, the biggest pile of garbage on the road.
Barcelona on the other hand looks so lovely, and I can only imagine how enjoyable your time living there has been.

The only point I was attempting to make is that while the history of the brand is British, it’s not made there anymore but rather in another country and in context to this a concern re Freddie’s comments made regarding such a bike’s investment value which in my view is inaccurate. But yes I accept I could have said this better without the inference to India and concerns over the actual quality of the bike. I hope that makes sense.

It was a glorious few months of ownership Mike- I really do genuinely mean it. It turned every drive into the most incredibly feel good event. But it crippled me financially for a whole year. I desperately want to buy one again!

Why OH WHY are we at times so so far behind our European friends ordo these sort of shops place themselves in our city of dreams LONDON because where I live we would appearto be a third world ?????????????????????????? Can you imagine walking around streets like that in lets say Newcastle or Birmingham or Leeds or Manchester ok Barcelona is probably a harsh comparison but none the less show me a Barcelona anywhere in the U.K. ?????????????

Hi Freddie , I worked in a Jaguar dealership for 23 years, generally these cars were very robust. I went to the launch in Nice in feb 2006( from memory) , I suspect looking at the 55 Reg number I would think it may have been a pre production / time trial build or a press car, A fabulous car and one of the last cars truly worthy of the Jaguar name...
I've a 2017 500 Classic in chrome and black (my second) and a 2019 Himalayan, both cracking bikes that get a lot of use, the Classic as our favourite 'pillion potterer' and the Himmy as my ride anywhere any when explorer. I've a few bikes from a Hunter Club 125 and GSXR1000k1 and a few Guzzis as well but the Enfields are up there as my favourite ever bikes.
Anyhoo, yet another hugely enjoyable video Freddie, informative, fun, interesting and of course stylish 👍😎

Freddie made me google the XK8. There are examples of used models in the US. Very reasonably priced. And there's a reason for that. The Jaguar XK8 Reliability Rating is 2.5 out of 5. It ranks 29th out of 32 for all car brands. OUCH! In the word of the legendary Scotty Kilmer. The XK8 is a money pit.
