I'm a software team leader, unrelated to game development, but I keep coming back to this because it's one of the best take about development leadership in general
Lol, every GDC Talk: “A little about my background, I started off as a circus performer and then transitioned into a career as a firefighter until I started a small business selling cupcakes to dogs and now I’m the CTO of BioWare Games”
Here's something I have learned regarding anonymous feedback: If you are setting up an anonymous feedback system, do *NOT* have one long form with many many questions. One of major hiccups we had with a company I was with was that people didn't feel anonymous in their feedback. Even if we didn't have names, people considered that, between each question slowly chipping at who they were, by the 10th question, it was pretty much impossible not knowing who was behind the feedback. The solution is to have a bit more frequent questionnaires with less questions.
Woooh! The more I watched, the more I realized why that was my dream to make a game studio and why that became my goal at some point... It was like teaching me to know myself better... One of the best talks I've ever watched...
Been binging GDC talks preparing to enter the industry as a producer, and I must say this is easily in the top two of presentations I’ve seen so far - which is a biased opinion because I’m seeking this type of information.
This is an amazing lecture. I had no choice but to pull out a notepad. Both the content of the lecture and the manner of the lecture are excellent. Thanks to a good lecture, I get a lot of wisdom and inspiration. :D
Thank you for this excellent and unexpectedly fun talk! It literally sums up everything you need to know about leadership. Everything he said can, and should be, applied to all forms of leadership, regardless of what line of business you are in.

actually BioWare founders started as medical doctors.
@- Alundra - it's a good talk, you're missing out.
They tend to be creative people who try different things in their lives.
i thought that BioWare founders ended up as MaGicIaNs
@@infernas8445 Seriously? that sucks, but also kind of makes sense.
