In this video we can see the process that was taken to direct flow back through the Edenville Dam on the original river path. I cover the process of moving the river path and we can also see the new river path that no longer exist. This will be filled in over the coming weeks. There has been a lot of work going on at the Edenville Dam. The Edenville Dam is located on what used to be Wixom Lake. Wixom Lake is located in Mid Michigan. This was after the collapse of the Edenville Dam on May 19, 2020. Wixom Lake was rapidly rising due to heavy rainfall and the Edenville dam could not hold back the water. The side of the dam failed sending water rushing towards Sanford Village. The aftermath and damage left behind is devastating. Make sure you subscribe to catch the follow up videos I will be filming.

Always nice seeing people who know their job doing it
You nearly always take your digging bucket with you in your ditching bucket. It’s like taking your lunch :o) The ditching bucket has no teeth and is very wide. If you start moving rocks and heavy stuff it just smashes it about and overloads the bucket pins. The digging bucket is thicker steel with holes for teeth and side armour. You can stand the machine on it and not worry about damaging it.
Water flows where it flows. The path of least resistance 😉
Amazing that utility pole stayed up. Awesome video
Thanks for watching!
Around 50 years ago, my friends and I used to fish from the point at the confluence of the Tittabawassee and Chippewa in downtown Midland (under where the Tridge is now), and the water was always very turbid. You couldn't see the fish until they were right at the surface.
That was awesome to see the river finally get back to it's original path. Stay Safe & God Bless!!!!
Thanks for posting these videos, my sister lives up there and was in the flood so I'm interested to see the progress their making
Thanks for staying engaged with the progress!
Awesome video Jordan! Thank you so very much for keeping us informed and for sharing this awesome video! Beautiful colors!
Definitely a "MOWBRAY MOMENT". You have covered this from the original dam failure until the river's return to it's historic path.
Jordan, ya done good.
Totally unbelievable that they won't install Hydropower! Call your congress man ASAP!!!
Another amazing video,thanks
Thanks for watching!
Another fantastic video, Jordan. Thank you. 👍
Cool video! I will miss the falls, always enjoyed watching them. Thanks Jordan!!
Exactly what the Mississippi did at Chester Illinois and left the town of Kaskaskia an island in 1881. Mother nature is no woman to fool with. I pray everyone is ok, southern Illinois, were I live, had 500 year floods in 1993 & 1996, whole towns were washed away. They were never rebuilt, one was even relocated, Valmeyer is now on top of a hill and only streets are left as remembrance.
Thanks again Jordan GREAT job
Sorry when was this video?
Great job keep going your god sent 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
How awesome they gave you a copy of the reroute process finale. Anchorman Jordan reporting. 😅👍
Have a great Turkey Day. 🦃
Wait ok this is what has me confused. Are they building a brand new dam and that's why they redirected the water through the old dam without any way to stop the water?
First off thanks for all of the videos and updates of the improvements. t's great to see what is going on in my hometown area. I noticed in the current video tha a number of trees are still down where the floodwaters plowed through. Are trees going to be removed or left in place?
it will take awhile for the clarity to show up.
I love backhoes!
great series of video's. keep it up.
Only, us lot outside the USA have no idea what the actual plan is to rebuild the dam.
When I have tried to find details they are either blocked to outside the US or there is no clear plan of what is going to happen.
Could you detail or give a general overview of what is going to happen ?
Is the water level going to be restored to the original level or lower ?
Is the dam release channels going to be rebuilt or upgraded ?
Would love to see the complete finished project when all construction equipment is gone. I know that's a while away still
Are the lakes ever going to be made whole again
That is very sad that you're not going back to hydropower what are they doing replacing it with Cole
So this will just flow free for now on? No more dam or lake?
What was the reason for this work anyway
The workers should have put in culverts under their dirt road at the base of the edenville dam, since they’re still using that road for more works.
Would have at least made the road a bit less wet for the trucks while they use it.
Oh well, too late now, short of rebuilding the clay barrier again.
No doubt. As it is, it will slowly be eroded, but what is to keep that road from washing out when the flow of water is much greater like in springtime?
Can someone refresh my memory?
Why is it so important that these rivers need to be dammed. Is it flood control?
It seems hydropower from dams this size would not be economical.
How come they are pushing water through the original water way without rebuilding the dam first? Seems like it would make it a lot harder to do with water running through it
the flow of water must be restored first for erosion control
Why would they direct water through the damn dam before they fix it??? Bud
the flow of water must be restored first for erosion control
Jordan you didn’t receive “footage” of video….you received a VIDEO FILE.
Some terms stick around long after they're irrelevant or replaced with other things. Football players still routinely say they watch film when prepping for an opponent even though film was replaced by video tape, which was replaced by digital files. Originally, the word dashboard applied to a barrier of wood or leather fixed at the front of a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh to protect the driver from mud or other debris "dashed up" (thrown up) by the horses' hooves. That description no longer applies to what we call dashboards today, but we still use it.
Turbitity? . . . . . hmmm🤔
