You will find Pleasureway and Leisure Travel Vans to be of much higher build quality, and at a lower price. We came from an Airstream Classic 30 which had wiring that could be best described as a rats nest. The wiring in our Leisure van is all loomed and secured. The loose wiring in the Air Conditioning plenum is proof of horrible quality control. Loose wires eventually rub and fail.
@@camrodger8638 yeah the wiring in the airstream is scary to say the least. We didn’t like the layouts of the pleasure way or leisure vans because we need lots of room for bikes and all of our gear. The airstream would be our ideal van if it wasn’t so poorly built.
We have been camping for about 50 years and when we started we had problems with our tent, then we had problems with our pop up, then we had problems with our Coachman tow behind , now we are in an Air Stream and although we haven't had problems yet, we did put about $5000 in a bank account budgeted for repairs. Keeping camping equipment up and running is just part of the fun we feel. ( Anytime you add complexity to a system expect issues that need addressed ) Don't let the issues get you down, it is part of the camping experience. The only exception is our 2013 Subaru Outback that just keeps going and going and no big problems so far, we love our Subaru.
@@GabrielSBarbaraS I’m glad you haven’t had problems with your airstream yet! That’s good to hear! After ours spending more time in the shop than with us in it we no longer think repairs are fun😅
@@joniboulware1436 as much as it makes me feel better to hear we aren’t just the super unlucky people with all of the issues I hate that there are any issues for anyone. I wish quality control on all RVs was much better so that everyone can enjoy them since they aren’t cheap at all!!
Yes, along with 8 pex line water leaks, our gray water drain wasn’t sealed and leaked. Our black tank drain was sealed. Your behind the panel shots make me believe that no two vans are built out the same.

It is hard to understand a company that buys out reputable and profitable companies, then strip mines them as fast as possible. I would say that this level of totally abysmal lack of fit and finish is grounds for lawsuit. Here in South Africa we have a consumer protection authority as well as Bureau of Standards, SABS. It goes a long way to keeping customers happy. @@IO-zz2xy thanks for the kind words. We are in Canada so our lemon laws are a little different. This rv was built in the US and I think it’s easier for them to take legal action there than it is for us.
