Take note, this is how you do car reviews. An absolute flawless delivery with no camera effects or cheesy music. Just crystal clear imagery using perfect camera angles and packing in plenty of useful commentary. Well done sir, you have style! 10/10
I got T-Boned in one of these a few days ago! The reinforced Structure kept the frame from crumpling (Was able to quickly exit Impact side because of that) no glass breakage on my side (Only blown out rear window) and the side airbag worked exactly how it should have; I had a nice pillow to keep my head from hitting the side window (which I needed). the car spun about 84 degrees and took the impact bout 1 foot behind me at 25-35 MPH, and the only injury I got was a nasty bruise. I would recommend this car to anyone.
I hit a deer 🦌 in my 2020 Kia 🚗 Soul X-Line @ 52 mph. Both headlights worked, no damage to the radiator. Drove my car for two weeks waiting to get in the local body shop. Not a single mechanical problem. Mostly cosmetic. I’ll buy again.
I had the first generation and loved it. Really solid vehicle with no issues. I have recommended KIA to everyone who had listened. The second Gen looks awesome.
I used to think this car was nothing and looked pretty stupid. However, after test driving one and now owning a 2013 model Kia Soul. I'm in love with the vehicle and would prefer nothing more then to have it as my choice in owning a car.
Thank you so much for this video!!!i will be turning 16 soon and I have several thousand saved up i have been going back and forth from a Nissan Sentra and the Kia Soul and this has helped me decided...
I wish they had an enthusiast version like Juke has because the Soul is THE BEST car/$ on the market. You can't get heated AND cooled front AND rear seats on anything less than $50,000. The options on this car are outstanding for the price. If I didn't have the need for speed I would get this in a heart beat.
+Gravity Ink I got my 2015 ! on September 7 that sat on the dealership's showroom floor since late March. I've put over 3,000 miles already and struggling to NOT take it on 800 mile trips ack!. Traded my 2010 Wrangler Sport for it.
This is, at least, one of the best reviews I’ve ever seen. I’m looking for a car to buy and I’ve gone through many many choices. but I was never sure about one certain car, also I’ve never considered a soul. Now I think I’m gonna look seriously to this car. I loved it.
Today we bought a 2016 Kia Soul+ for $17,300 (Out the door). We got a two tone White & Red which is pretty sharp. You can get some good deals out there but you will & we had to work at it & be willing to work over the salesman until you get the deal you want. We got the 2.0 Liter engine, 6-speed automatic & rear-backup camera, Etc.
Yeah I bought a 2014 Model (Looks the same). It's a nice car, but of course there is one problem. The 6 Speed Manual isn't offered with the 2.0l engine, so I have a 1.6l engine pushing out 130hp...The word slow doesn't even describe it. I mean, it's not supposed to be a sports car, but I'd like to pass a Prius with ease. Still, I love everything else about the car, my Mom even bought a bright green one the same day (I have a Java one, coffee colored). MPG isn't as bad as people image, but maybe thats because I had a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo before this, so I'm loving it. Bought the car in May, and I'm 20k miles in. No regrets.
I'm really interested about getting one soon enough. And I was wondering, are there any pro and cons about the Kia Soul? Interior? Size? I heard a while ago that much people can't fit in because it's too small or you have to be short in order to properly fit in the drivers seat? Is this true?
Not at all, I’m a short guy but my 5’2 Buddies can fit in the car easily. Its a great car, reliable and inexpensive. I love the Bluetooth capabilities and the Sat radio. MPG is ok, driving the manual I average 32, but my mom’s Auto gets 27mpg, which is ok but nothing special. $30 to fill it up in Maryland, it it’ll last a while. Personally, I think it looks better than the other car I was considering, the Honda fit. But I’d trust the Honda to take me 300k miles. This car I hoping hits 200k. I’d say test drive it, and ask a lot of questions (and watch more videos like this). Thats what helped me.
Detrick Lowe I was actually quite disappointing (and shocked) that they dont offer a manual in the upper trim with the 2.0 engine. I'm looking to get ride of my ford edge and I am looking at the Soul as a serious option. I may still sacrifice the manual but I'm not sure yet. Just wondering how you are enjoying it so far? Had any issues?
I just leased a 2016 Caribbean blue soul plus , I really like it but, wish there was a CD player and auto start. I have had 2 optima's and wanted to change it up, the ride is smooth, great visibility.
Thanks for the competent review. I'm going to test drive a Soul (diesel with manual shift) in a couple days. The dealer is asking 23k Euro for the demo car, which is loaded with every option available, except an automatic. I've sat in it in the showroom and was really blown away by how SOLID the car feels. It's in a different class than others in its class, so to speak. But the test drive will be important. We need to have good passing power on the Autobahn over here ... You didn't mention the Infinity sound system, btw.
True everyone has their preferences. no need to hide behind a computer and typing your verbal abuses Neo Racer Go read up on Edmunds to see AWD vs FWD and snow tires, I rather have snow tires than AWD along with all its associated costs, but that's just my preference. An IDIOT like you also have your preferences too.
After researching many cars I decided on this one and I can't be happier. For under 27k and all the comfort and goodies I got, I'm like "sure laugh at my Kia, I could care less" Even people that make fun of it, once they get in it they love it. Very comfortable.
I bought a 15 XB manual. Looked at Souls. To get a manual it was either an Anemic 1.6, or turbo. Do not want turbo. The XB has a torquey 2.4. Incredible reliability. 27 grand for a CUB is ridiculous. I would get a base model new for 13k if going Soul.
A great review thank you! They sell the Soul (no pun intended) over here in the UK in petrol and diesel format, the diesel is the biggest seller: a 134bhp 1.6 unit. I currently own a 2011 KIA Sorento, and a Soul would make a great addition for the wife to use. I really like the look of this car especially in white.
well im from nyc and this car is great. has a big bang for the buck. plus its huge inside everyone i know who comes inside my kia seem shocked at the space it has. no more pushing my front seat forward to let the guy behide me have more leg room. everyone gets room .
I've had a Kia Carnival from new. It's now 13 years young. Never a problem. (I live in Spain) Time to down size and I fancy this little beauty. I love Kia.
Ok usually i worry about new cars and how they try to make them "look" sporty but ruin everything. They didn't with this. They actually went from ~53 sqft of cargo to about ~61 with the seats folder, while only gain 1 inch in length and width. Reliable as all hell and decent styling with passable performance. Cudos to Kia for making such a nice well-rounded car.
I drove one of these and it is a great little vehicle. Kia should team up with Toyota on this one and put the same engine into the Soul as exists in the Corolla. It is a peppy little engine and also gets great mileage in town and around the highway.
ACS402010 I think next year they may be introducing AWD to the Soul. That would be sweet. I just got my second one last week. Got the plus trim (same as last time) in titanium gray and added the audio package. Love it so much! Next time I get one I'm going all out and getting a loaded up Soul.
bought a 2015 base model with the manual transmission a couple of months ago. I love it. I only wish it came with a turbo for the 1.6. that would be great!
I really wish Kia would put the 1.6 turbo on this. The 2.0 is fine but because of the car's shape, it gets lower mpg than compettors such as a Honda Fit.
according to the salesman I spoke with when I bought my Rio AWD is coming next model year ( 2016) - 2015's are already starting to come out...he also suggested waiting a year or so to get the bugs worked out...;-)...
I wish that Kia had a hybrid version of this that got similar fuel efficiency to a Toyota Prius. Of course if need be giving up some efficiency for a little power.
I HAVE A 2013 TOP MODEL]dam cap lock!!!] and it is the best car I ever owned it is super fast great on gas [hey that rhymes!]I have had it now since 2017 it was a salvage fixed up great!! no complaints!! I'm a SOUL MAN!!
I love Hyundai and Kia, but an EPA of 23 mpg in the city is pretty horrible -- for what is essentially a front wheel drive subcompact. Larger SUVs with bigger engines do better.
My 2014 Soul gets about 25-26 MPG with a combination of city driving and highway driving speeds that infrequently reach well over 70 MPH. Sometimes I wish the MPG was higher, but I have noticed that the interior of the Soul tends to be more quiet than other cars with higher fuel efficiency.
***** I can get that easy. Not sure why people saying this is not possible? Just depends on how you drive it. Of course if you floor it all the time you're going to get crappy mileage. If you drive it decent (and no, I don't mean like an old person) it's EASY to get 25 mpg in city.
excuse my ignorance. Has Kia stepped up their game when it comes to overall quality and longevity of the car? is it comparable to toyota or honda? I, personally, haven't heard anything good about Kia's cars, granted that was about 10 years ago...
+Bryan Torres They had stepped up their game in the last 5 years. They hired former BMW and Mercedes engineers, and since then, their cars are definitely comparable to Japanese cars like Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Mazda. It would have been unthinkable to say that 10 years ago, when both Kia and Hyundai were the laughing stock of the motor world. Now, they're highly competitive, and I see a lot of them on the road than 10 years ago.
I have loved the Soul ever since it came out and really love how they have evolved the styling on this 2nd gen version. My only wish is that it offered more cargo space with the seats up. I had to go for the Rondo (which I also like) to get the added space my family required. I think they should create a Soul+ model with a longer wheel base and more cargo space like Toyota did with the PriusV. I'd buy one for sure!
+shredfactor7 My 2 cents, i have the 2015. A large reason I got this car was for the ease of getting in and out. the Seats are a little below waist level so there is little bending of knees or back other then your driving position. With the opening being so large as well, you really just slide into it. I had a 2005 Corolla before my Soul and the difference is night and day in terms of easily getting out. And unlike an SUV, no hoping in or jumping out of the car. 1.3 years with my Soul and STILL in love. Hope this helps. :-)
The seats are too hard. They cut the circulation to my legs after 30 minutes of sitting and driving. But I still love my Kia Soul Plus. The car drives fantastic and handles great! But I think I should of bought a Ford Flex instead!
Today we went out & bought a 2016 Kia Soul+ in the Caribbean Blue color. Explore all the rebates, incentives & especially the financing rebate ($1500 rebate if you take the 1.9% financing instead of 0% financing & $500). My point is why get the base model when you can get the Plus for only about $1000 more. The deal we swung today is $16,600 price after rebates & incentives & $18,200 out the door after taxes & title. You don't have to spend $20,000+ to get a Plus model with the 2.0 GDI engine if you have a decent salesman who will work with you to get the best deal.
No, because the demand for them is high. That's how the value is held. This isn't the type of cheap car where after 4-5 years the value is $8,000 or less.
Jeeps and Toyotas hold their value really well and their some of the most popular, I always favored the Soul, much better then that ugly pointless Cube. This is a much better car, the hamster commercial ruined it though just saying.
The Kia Soul has sold more and is the last man, now that the Cube and xB will be discontinued. Toyota/Scion should bring back the smaller JDM bB, but it's not planned.
Really like this lil guy, but i just wish it had more power. Here's hoping hyundai finds away to fit their turbo into it (even though, 90% of the people buying this car won't care about the turbo).
So I've got a 2015 Kia Soul...does anyone else have one? If so, I have a question...the fuel economy is 24 city/30 highway. Well my meter is saying I'm getting 37.2 average for this current tank of gas. I've consistently had higher fuel economy. Does anyone else experience the same, or is my meter not reading correctly? Thanks!
Next time you fill up note your miles and how many gallons you put in. The fill up after that note your miles and gallons also, do the math and find your real average :P
MY 87 GEO MADE 65 MPG EVERWHERE I WENT EVEN WITH 7 PASSANGERS A 5 SPEED STANDARD AND WOULD FLY , WITH NO (NO) TURBO, AND I THINK EVERY VEHICAL SHOULD HAVE ONE AS IT IS THE ONE THING THAT INCREASES MPG AND POWER, SEAMS ALL THEY WOUN'T TO SALE FUEL AND SLOW US DOWN, ITS A VERY REAL TRUTH.
Take note, this is how you do car reviews. An absolute flawless delivery with no camera effects or cheesy music. Just crystal clear imagery using perfect camera angles and packing in plenty of useful commentary. Well done sir, you have style! 10/10
I think this car is the best value on the market
I got T-Boned in one of these a few days ago! Thanks for sharing this. We just had a baby and bought a 2016 EX glad to hear it kept you safe. Happy motoring
Glad your ok 👌
Glad you walked away with just a bruise! Could of been far worse!

Late response but likewise! I've learned to not judge a car from the outside. LOL!
What is your opinion on grapes

Bought a 2015 Base last night. Very happy with it and very comfortable.
So did I
+Gravity Ink How do you like the manual transmission?
***** I got the Manuel and still enjoying it. Currently getting 31.2 MPG
+Gravity Ink I got my 2015 ! on September 7 that sat on the dealership's showroom floor since late March. I've put over 3,000 miles already and struggling to NOT take it on 800 mile trips ack!. Traded my 2010 Wrangler Sport for it.

"Use the gray matter between your ears" LOL! Sounds like something my dad would say.
Sorry there isn't a "thumbs up to all positive comments button". I will be here for days. Great review. I love my 2012. Congrats to all.

AWD is so overrated, if you're not buying a sporty vehicle, AWD is waste of money and uses more gas and costs more to maintain. GREAT REVIEW!!!
AWD is really nice to have in snow...
Chris hauser
Ikr? Who is this idiot
Neo Racer Lol people who live in showy climates don't tend to care as much about MPG, they'd rather not get stuck above all else.

will you able to review kia soul 2017.. thank you
I've had a Kia Carnival from new. It's now 13 years young. Never a problem. (I live in Spain) Time to down size and I fancy this little beauty. I love Kia.
+John Bathe if you live in Spain, i recommend to check Seat atteca or incoming skodas
I know many of view don't really excited about Kia but this car should be an icon for KIA
Ok usually i worry about new cars and how they try to make them "look" sporty but ruin everything. They didn't with this. i really love this car
I'm getting this car in black :)
Wow, Kia has really surprised me, great car. Just bought the EV model - love it
omg this Canadian guy can sell me anything
Same on to the dealership
How does she handle in the snow? I know you said snow tires. Is there a video of driving in the snow somewhere?
I know a Chinese lady who always drives one of these. Great economic cars.
Great review!
I love everything about this car except the fact that it doesn't have an AWD option.
ACS402010 yeah my mom wants one she has a 4x4 escape I told her these don't come I'm 4x4 she wasn't to impressd either.
ACS402010 I think next year they may be introducing AWD to the Soul. That would be sweet. I just got my second one last week. Got the plus trim (same as last time) in titanium gray and added the audio package. Love it so much! Next time I get one I'm going all out and getting a loaded up Soul.
Can someone please dumb it down for me and tell me what AWD means?
i have a 2015 and love this car
it also has a place to cook flautas on the dash.
I'm renting this car. I like it.
Kia soul is the best
bought a 2015 base model with the manual transmission a couple of months ago. I love it. I only wish it came with a turbo for the 1.6. that would be great!
Many car buyers live in areas where the roads are full of pot holes cracks and expansion strips...I wish reveiwers would go there
this is my dream car😍😍
Rosalinda Trevino it cost around 16-23k base, + its cheap
I would need you to review the rear interior regarding the seats..fold down??
I have one, even on the base model the rear seats fold down.
Why do they offer only grey/dark interior?
I think he don't like SUV-s and AWD :)
I like that! Good job!
hands down, best bang for my buck! 2015, Red Soul plus 2.0. We just love out lil' Hamster Car!
How reliable is it for long term travel? I want to drive cross country...
I am surprised they did not offer the 1.6L turbo in the SX model. Would have been a great fit.
How do you dq? It looks interesting. juggle sassy .
I really wish Kia would put the 1.6 turbo on this. The 2.0 is fine but because of the car's shape, it gets lower mpg than compettors such as a Honda Fit.
Damn, that's a lot of stuff for the money.
How is it in the snow?
my best friend just bought this car, its so cute
Going to consider this car, thank you.
Good review!
2:48 The Yugo system?
+MrU2kite UVO, not Yugo
Is there automatic and rooftop?! Which kia have 4 wheel drive?!
Are the previous versions good or a waste of money ?
+Jul But I got a 2014 base kia soul, 6 speed manual and I completely love it.
according to the salesman I spoke with when I bought my Rio AWD is coming next model year ( 2016) - 2015's are already starting to come out...he also suggested waiting a year or so to get the bugs worked out...;-)...
I have the 2012 base model and love it.
how much are these cars usually? My 16th birthday is coming up and my dad wants to get me this car? It looks so amazing inside and outside! I love it
PerksOfBeingPam there around 16-23k :)
I wish that Kia had a hybrid version of this that got similar fuel efficiency to a Toyota Prius. Of course if need be giving up some efficiency for a little power.
That's a bunch of crapola kia came out with one
I must have this car.
How is the 1.6L engine on the base model? Does it pick up enough speed?
The 1.6 is kinda slow with the manual transmission. I would recommend you get the 2.0 engine.
no power liftgate?
I HAVE A 2013 TOP MODEL]dam cap lock!!!] and it is the best car I ever owned it is super fast great on gas [hey that rhymes!]I have had it now since 2017 it was a salvage fixed up great!! no complaints!! I'm a SOUL MAN!!

@ThePariss333 You forgot to install a new K&N filter. Paper filters are worthless for performance!

I LOVE MY KIA!!!!!!!
what rims are those?
I have loved the Soul ever since it came out and really love how they have evolved the styling on this 2nd gen version. My only wish is that it offered more cargo space with the seats up. How much was it?
Question, the height of the vehicle when getting in is it about the same height as an SUV? got bad knees so just curious
I just got the 2014 the height is good, no pressure on your knees.
+Cobinaba Suma thank you very much for the reply
No problem :-)
+shredfactor7 My 2 cents, i have the 2015. what about a mini cooper
The orange one:-)
Today we went out & bought a 2016 Kia Soul+ in the Caribbean Blue color. Explore all the rebates, incentives & especially the financing rebate ($1500 rebate if you take the 1.9% financing instead of 0% financing & $500). My point is why get the base model when you can get the Plus for only about $1000 more. The deal we swung today is $16,600 price after rebates & incentives & $18,200 out the door after taxes & title. You don't have to spend $20,000+ to get a Plus model with the 2.0 GDI engine if you have a decent salesman who will work with you to get the best deal.
.
How can it hold it's value when everyone and their brother has one? The used market will be flooded with them in five years.
+motormouth canada can you really use this as a family vehicle? can you fit a stroller + groceries in the trunk, etc.?
these things are everywhere
This or a Toyota iM? 🤔
I love mine 2016
very nice!!!!
The Kia Soul has sold more and is the last man, now that the Cube and xB will be discontinued. Toyota/Scion should bring back the smaller JDM bB, but it's not planned.
i will use the grey matter between my ears, i will buy this car
I wonder how they film.. and who is fikming
A camera crew.
Really like this lil guy, but i just wish it had more power. Here's hoping hyundai finds away to fit their turbo into it (even though, 90% of the people buying this car won't care about the turbo).
My dream car.. ;-;
I have a 2013 Kia soul and I would not have any other car)SUV .I had a cube and I hated it so my husband got it cause he's square
Red dot ward winner approved by indians ?
great review
👍👍👍
So I've got a 2015 Kia Soul...does anyone else have one? If so, I have a question...the fuel economy is 24 city/30 highway. Well my meter is saying I'm getting 37.2 average for this current tank of gas. I've consistently had higher fuel economy. Does anyone else experience the same, or is my meter not reading correctly? Thanks!
Next time you fill up note your miles and how many gallons you put in. The fill up after that note your miles and gallons also, do the math and find your real average :P

There's two inches more legroom in back than either of Kia's bigger SUVs.
I wonder how this car is on gas.
imaginejazz Its ok, my moms Auto averages like 30mpg, I average 34-35 in my Manual (40mpg on long highway road trips).
imaginejazz we just bought a 2.0L with a 6 speed automatic. We get 32 hwy and average 28 mpg. I bought this for my wife, and she loves it!
Okay thank you both so much, I asked because I have a pt cruiser and its great on gas and this is a little smaller, so I was just wondering.
you're welcome. if you get ready to "trade in" the PT, I would recommend this little car. I'm 6' 2" and 260... plenty of room for me!
globalcompressors okay great thanks for the information.
WHY ARE YOU YELLING
