Before this, I had no idea what a phagocyte is, after this, I feel like I can confidently teach anyone else just like me with no prior knowledge about what a phagocyte is thank you
If I ever become a professor, I'll employ your teaching style of making hard material so easy, it's almost dumbfounding how one didn't already know it. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Your videos are soo helpful. I remember passing most of my math classes because of Khan Academy. Now for my pathophysiology class, your videos are so much more helpful than the book or the lecture. Not sure why I am paying my school. Thank you.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I am from Spain , and in order to enter university we must do an exam with tons of biology info and you literally saved me, you have all kinds of videos about biology including every single chapter of my giant book hahahah !!!
Khan Academy is Amazing! I learn so much and i find myself finding for videos like these to keep my study track on track. Thank you so much. makes me understand it in the simplest form for my exam.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I watched all your videos regarding the immune response and it was extremely helpful! I am no longer absolutely confused. I finally understand it. I want you to know that you're AMAZING! Thank you!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
You are amazing khan. I was finding hard to understand it but now I completely get it within 16mins. I have an exam soon and I am more confident that I will get that first class in immunology. I can't thank you enough
Sir, whoever you are.... you are amazing! I'm taking advanced pathophysiology in grad school. Your videos on Khan Academy are the best!! Thank you for sharing your God given gift for teaching!!
I understood immunity after watching this video once. Versus my lecture class, after numerous lectures I was still in the dark... Then again, teachers wouldn't offer these helpful videos or else you wouldn't be going to lecture, and they would be jobless.
I'm taking a class on Bacterial Pathogenesis, which includes some immunology, but have had some trouble understanding the big picture and how the two branches of the immune system work together. You explain everything so well. Thank you!
I was starting to believe that Medicine (especially because of Ana Path) is not my thing untill i staterted watching your videos. Much appreciation. Keep it up Sir.
I cant Thank you enough man, really you were the one who build up all of concepts due to which I am comparitivly better than I was a long time ago all thanks to u
@Vikikute -He does mention natural killer cells. When he talks about innate, or non-specific killer cells, he is basically talking about natural killer cells. Natural killer cells kill any and all antigens as an initial response to an antigen or as he called them pathogens without any specific preference. That is why they are also referred to as non-specific/innate killer cells.
In 6th grade science class before the teacher introduced the word "phagocyte" she said we would have five seconds to laugh after she said it. She then counted to 5 on her fingers while the class laughed.
@mugmuf if you exposed this lecturing first, then definitely you will appreciate your professor as 'thank you for explaining this better than the earlier one'. Try to learn to appreciate the thing which is at your hand.
Wow - This really helped me! Maybe a bit advanced for GCSE Biology (We're taught that Phagocytes ingest pathogens, but not in quite so much detail) but still great. Your videos are so helpful.
he probably kept all of his notes from high school and college with all of these subjects. you'll rarely find someone who appreciates the value of an education as much as Khan
I guarantee you he thoroughly prepares before making any video and doesn't just talk out of his head, to think that would be very naive. In some videos you can even hear him turning the pages of a book or a notebook.
The antigen is not the whole foreign invader (that is a pathogen). Antigen is a peptide sequence / protein configuration that is recognised by an antibody.
I think this for high school level biology - college freshmen level general biology. Khan is definitely not the greatest biologist, I saw him making mistakes in other biology videos. He is much better in other fields. This video can be great if you want to get the big picture.
Before this, I had no idea what a phagocyte is, after this, I feel like I can confidently teach anyone else just like me with no prior knowledge about what a phagocyte is thank you
You don't just teach, you make my day; Funny and smart what makes you the best lecturer!

you are the reason I got a 520 on my MCAT thank you man
Wow! You are the best teacher ever. I can watch these videos for hours. After so many years of studying science... these things still amaze me.
Sal you are literally amazing. I watch your math videos, I didn't even know there were Immunology videos and I almost jumped for joy when I saw them.

I donated to your channel since you're the reason I am passing.Thank you very much.Job well done.

LOL I feel like I'm being taught by Brian Griffin from Family Guy.
I always thought he was smart as f*ck for a dog, but I DID NOT KNOW he has a PhD in immunology! Amazing :D
lmao
@Austin Lane no one cares so stop spamming and FO
You are a great teacher!! Thank you so much for taking the time to break all this down into simpler terms.
Sal, your voice is so pleasant and an asset in your line of work!!!

STEPS involved in Phagocytosis: 1) Chemotaxis, 2) Adherence, 3) Ingestion/Opsonization,
4)Digestion

This was a really interesting opportunity to learn about this subject!
Thank the heavens we had the option to skip that long annoying commercial ad.
You just summed up 3 chapters of microbiology for me! my brain was soup until this video! Thank you!
your videos have been saving my exam marks for the past two years! legend

thank you for explaining this better than my biology professor.
this video is very good.... Thanks! however, in future...would it be possible to use more "medical" terms throughout the video? Thanks :)
Like this?: Pay Me big $$$ for an ibuprofen recipe 😂
Like immunoglobulin instead of antibody?
All these terms are medical
Appreciate this! I read this for hours and this just helped it all click 😁 This may have made the difference me passing my boards
Sal is a genious !! He is not limited to math !!
Clear explanation of a multi-layered subject. Thanks!
I love your videos!!!!!!!!!!
They are going to help me so much in my immunology class this semester
You have a friendly and easy to listen to teaching voice!
Is this Sal talking? How does he know EVERYTHING?
This is the question of my life😂
He's the best
Thank you so much!! Really helped me! greetings from holland

Thank you sooo much you helped me to understand my A level biology class!
currently in an anatomy class and this was really helpful, thank you
thanks, this really helped me. if you're nit hen you should be a teacher!

Your lectures are sort of an online crash course.
Thanku for explaining everything so perfectly

Thank you so much 💟
Can you make a video about the complement system in relation to immunity?
thank you.
Maybe 40 years ago this was medical info. These days it's part of freshman Anatomy & Physiology- hence this video.
good efforts !! good work
