    This is the best video on complement I have seen. I'm not an immunologist or even a student. Just a librarian who is fascinated by the immune system. Thanks!

      @@fidelkipkoech5555 I've always said, I'll stop learning maybe, just maybe three days after I'm dead. ;)
      No reason to not study various things, as knowledge is power.
      Back when I was in the Army (retired in 2010), I ran into not one, but two cases of pheochromocytoma. One was recognized late, the soldier was to begin treatment after field training, but expired from a ruptured AAA. The other, I pieced together what was going on, asked doctor to do me a favor and run a couple extra tests and there it was, he had pheochromocytoma. His problem was quickly addressed and he returned to duty. So, that trivia can and does save lives. Diagnosing things, just Boolean flow really.
      I do Boolean algebra and regular expressions in my head as part of my job. :)
      Annoyingly, basic math tends to give me trouble, but that's what calculators or if I had to, fall back to a slide rule is for.

      This and similar courses makes things a lot easier to recognize hydrophobic parts and lipophilic parts of some carbon chains. That helps me understand some odd points in the pharmacology of some medications.

It is suggestet that this would be able to supply everybody with free energy but companies dont want us to know about it because we should pay for their energy. Maybe that could be a video idea. I'm so glad that you're making these lectures. I considered months ago that the US population (from high school and up) needs to learn how the immune system works. If we know how the immune system works then we will all understand and agree on something like a vaccine. Thank you for spreading this information.

    • @spvillano
      @spvillano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, the problems with COVID seems to be that leukocytes are being infected, interfering with their response, while innate responses are also being blunted. By the time the immune system notices that the infection was unaddressed, it went into scorched earth mode (to oversimplify it by a lot) and that's the cytokine storm of COVID-19 and the Spanish Flu.

    • @whbclaire

    Hey professor dave, I’m having some problems with family members of mine believing flat earth. I think It would be really helpful for a lot of people if you could make a video explaining the most obvious rebuttals without using condescending language. Anyone who thinks the earth is flat would immediately click off any of your past video’s when you call flat earthers stupid. Obviously they are, but they don’t know that, i feel that if you really want to change peoples minds on it you should make a video targeting that demographic, ie people who struggle with thinking logically. I’d love to have a video to send to my family that is dumbed down enough for them to understand and actually tries to get through to them without calling them stupid. Just pretend a 9 year old asked you if the earth was round or flat and how do we know.

    • @spvillano
      @spvillano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a couple of hundred bucks, you can get a microwave antenna and receiver and receive the GOES satellite feeds directly. There are videos on youtube on what all you need to do and it's not all that difficult if you can turn a screwdriver.
      Then, ask how the satellite is hanging up there in precisely the same way that a brick won't and they're a hell of a lot heavier than a brick.

    • @MadameCorgi
      @MadameCorgi ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like there's no convincing flat earthers - their view point is so irrational you can't easily convince them with logic
