Bugoy is originally a pop, ballad singer and when he discovered that his voice fits raggae perfectly, he started dping raggae versions of songs but not a lot of popular artists here can do raggae (he's the only one i know in mainstream). there are raggae bands here but they're specifically raggae. Bugoy is the only pop artist i know that can cross over with no problem. Bugiy is a product of a reality singing competition but he wasn't the winner though (but i was rooting for him). it was the first and only season of Pinoy Dream Academy, a franchise of American Dream Academy, i believe. so many great singers were a product of that show.
When the Original Singer, Matisyahu, saw this performance he immediately invited Bugoy to be with him in his Concert in the US. And this was the time that Bugoy was recognized and started his career, but still underrated.

He was a Star Dreamer Contestant from the PINOY DREAM ACADEMY, Season 2 and his natural singing ability was evident from the start of the completion. Bugoy is one of the best singers in the country. He came from a very poor family so he had no formal training in singing whatsoever. He used to be a janitor at a public school and would sing his heart out everytime he’s cleaning the classrooms. That was his training back then. 😊

Bugoy is one of the best singers in the country. He came from a very poor family so he had no formal training in singing whatsoever. He used to be a janitor at a public school and would sing his heart out everytime he’s cleaning the classrooms. That was his training back then. 😊
