Illumishade getting some love is great! They were one of the standout performances for me at this years ProgPower USA festival. Her vocals were insane, she could do anything and it all sounded amazing. Kudos to you also for having a power metal album be your album of the year!

A very polished video. You seem to be speaking with a lot more confidence lately. Cannot say that I have heard of many of these albums but I am sure many will be appearing on other peoples best of 2024 lists. My real surprise ( apart from the 80s pop albums) was that David Gilmour made it. Whilst technically very good I did find the album not much better than good background music.

Wow. I bought 250 new release metal albums this past year and I haven't heard even one of these 24 albums. I must be on the wrong video. You should have put "prog" in the video title so people would know what this is.
That's an impressive number of purchases. Some of my choices are from popular bands/artists like Judas Priest and Opeth so it's surprising but of course possible that you haven't got these in your 250. I would also hesitate to call the video 'prog' as over half of the albums aren't prog... I sense a troll comment 🤔 or a comment from someone who didn't watch the video, or maybe both.

I was also disappointed. However, it’s Unleash the Archers. While I believe “Abyss” was one of the best albums of the last 5 years period, “Phantoma” was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for something else, I suppose.

I would have liked it if you had had nominated some of the best tracks from each album. It makes them easier to check out.

@ I understand but I don’t think naming your favourite tracks on an album really qualifies as repetitive. Most album reviewers do it . Maybe if you leave a link to any album reviews so we can check them out ?
Wow. I bought 250 new release metal albums this past year and I haven't heard even one of these 24 albums. I must be on the wrong video. You should have put "prog" in the video title so people would know what this is.
That's an impressive number of purchases. Some of my choices are from popular bands/artists like Judas Priest and Opeth so it's surprising but of course possible that you haven't got these in your 250. I would also hesitate to call the video 'prog' as over half of the albums aren't prog... I sense a troll comment 🤔 or a comment from someone who didn't watch the video, or maybe both.

@ back in 2009 we did a small tour with them. They gave us a place to sleep in Vancouver. Now only Brittany and the drummer are in the band.

I was also disappointed. However, it’s Unleash the Archers. While I believe “Abyss” was one of the best albums of the last 5 years period, “Phantoma” was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for something else, I suppose.
